So I've been using my awful tiny scoop dabber for my Atmos since I got it (now I try and just use toothpicks) and I have the same problem, I need a really quality dabbing tool, one that specifically is good for getting shatter on and then off into a pen. I eyed the teflon ones, and the ones with the non stick rubber on the ends, but eh, the latter seems bulky, and they both seem like they wouldnt hold up terribly well near heat (yeah for a pen they wouldnt need heat resistance so much, but I still mind kinda).

So yeah, I read through the whole thread, was nice to see Happy Daddy make an appearance (as I looked at them before), but did people come to any hard conclusion after all this? What would the idea dabbing tools be for pens? I've always felt a little overwhelmed at all the different shapes and brands.

ordered one of these cup style dabbers off ebay today. pretty excited to try it, i feel like that design will be really nice, especially for being able to do a half hit and still have it saved.

whoops, forgot to update with a mini-review. at first i really liked this tool, it seemed like the best wax dabber available, since you can just press down and scoop it in. after using it for a while, i didn't like that you have to heat up the dabber itself to release the hit. if anyone gets it, as a warning, don't heat it up too much or else it will start to smolder and release vapor itself.

right now my main style of dabbing is just dropping the concentrate directly on the nail. i use a little measuring spoon and drop it on there, i like not having to wipe off my tool after using and it seems like a better taste overall. (ofc sometimes i drop it right through the center, so not the most efficient method)

I still am in the market for some sort of tool to transfer my wax from it's little cup into my pens (the tiny little metal scoop one that came with the atmos I have is lacking and stuff doesnt unstick from it very well).

A friend had reccomended a "Top Hat" I think, which is effectively the same style, a suck and push, but I had reservations, so it's interesting to hear they are a tad problematic like I expect.

I'm still curious to hear more about more traditional dab tools that distinguish themselves though.

I actually saw it on vapor warehouse. I mainly use pens for discretion and vapor warehouse describes it as a pen loading tool. I don't know the science behind it, but thought the smart members of FC would understand the product better than me. I was looking at the Big Load. How does it work? Thanks for feedback.

i can't even count the number of glass dabbers i broke before getting a titanium dabber. i think that was 2 or so years ago.

I have broken a bunch of glass dabbers, so went to quartz. Ti tools are used to scoop flowers into my sublimator, but I don't dab with or on ti as a rule as I am a flavour snob of the maximum degree lol

For sure, melting dabs off a glass tool to your coil is so, so helpful for those more nectar/budder/wax consistencies.

90% + of what I make is shatter and can be easily manipulated by hand without and sticking. However, for my cbd concentrates (which whilst I winterized, were not made by me) are a nectar consistency which is a pain in the ass for handling as you all probably know. For this purpose I use a glass dabber, get a fat dab on the end of it, hold it over my KISS globe coil and press the button on my minicron to heat the dab in. Absorbs straight into the new w9 black ceramic too, which I have found way more absorbent than ceramic rods I'd used before!

Maybe that is why I can't get good initial rips on my kiss gr2. When I smack a ball of shatter it takes a few extra hits to get thick clouds. I am going to use my glass dabber to do that. Appreciate the insight

Definitely true, especially with shatter. You need to prime the shatter (melt it into the wick) somewhat before use as you describe.

However, I still generally just put shatter onto the wick by hand and then heat it in a little before use. I only use the glass/quartz dabber technique for my CBD oil, which has a nectar consistency and is absolutely not to be manipulated by hand!

I am going to bump this thread because I am curious about current opinions on dab tools. The wax I have been getting lately has been pretty "goopy" at times and I want something that won't become coated in wax after a few bowls (cups)...

Are silicon coated tools the way to go? Titanium? Anyone have any brands / links to check out? Would love to learn more.
