As a result of getting the original XCOM titles as part of the 2K Humble Bundle, I started getting back into the 20-year-old original.

It didn't take me long to discover OpenXCOM, which is absolutely fantastic, and allows this title from 1994 to easily hold its own against any modern turn-based strategy game.

I remember getting the demo back when I had a 486/66 and I played that alone for years before ever getting the full version. I will never forget my pre-teen angst when I realized that while the demo spoils you with a fully equipped squad with Power Armour, and Laser Rifles, the full game starts you out with Rookies in coveralls .

If you like that, check out Jagged Alliance 2 (and the great 1.13 mod for it)

I just like to smash shit

Speaking of smashing shit take a look at the deformation on the cars in this game. It's in early stages at the moment (greenlit on steam) but I've never seen virtual crashes look so close to the real thing.

It's called BeamNG and is currently being sold at the bargain price of $15/£9. There also a "technical demo" available from the download link on this page which is free to try and mess about with.

I play the shit out of robocraft these days. (If you have steam the dl is free)
It is simple and kind of childish I guess but it's fun!

Other than that I play a very modded skyrim, which is great if you're high as fuck

About to jump back into skyrim :brow:

My first character was a Robin Hood style char - sneak, archer, thief.

I'm going for conjuration Mage this time :)

Been looking into editing ps3 saves using console commands on the PC version - thinking I might just go for stupidly overpowered fun build...
I've already put over 150 hours into it legit.

Just got the Dark Souls 2 DLC package, first DLC is great so far- it's a lot more like the first game than the second (it's much harder, more thought out)

Well, the flow of new, good Wii-U games was such a slow trickle... I just recently picked up an original Wii for really cheap, modded it and have been playing through a lot games. Along with every Wii game, it now also has emulators for all the classic consoles along with every game for them :) LOTS of gameplay hours there. Did a lot of mario party and assorted mario sports games over the weekend with my friends, now I'm back to beating Skyward Sword, then probably twilight princess (again), also beating Resident Evil 4 again (even with the new RE4 HD release on PC, the Wii version is still my fav cause of the controls)

With how cheap these things can be had for nowadays, it's a great buy, esp if you want to a do a lot of fun local multiplayer games

Right now I'm taking a deep dive into fighting games and ignoring most other games at the moment now that Ultra Street Fighter IV is on Steam. While I do have an arcade stick, I would say that I'm at the very edge of what classifies as a 'casual' gamer in fighting games. I know the inputs and most of the moves that characters[or characters I'd play.], but that's just the bare basics. There are more stuff that I need to learn, like cross-ups, match-ups, bread and butter combos, zoning, dust loops, etc.

...Well, here's hoping it's never too late to learn.
