I am heading to lollapalooza this weekend, a 3 day concert music fest. Decided on bringing my pax because I had not brought it to my last music fest and really regretted that decision. I was completely confident in simply putting it in my bra for the entrance bag search, but my friend just warned me if I wanted to take the risk. Any input/ suggestions/ warnings?

Just say it's an inhaler...

or hold it in your hand with your phone and say it's a extra battery that your phone plugs into...

I have brought my pax into numerous events with metal detectors.

*pick a line with a old dude/lady working, they will have no clue.

I agree. Pax flavor is only good for the first few hits.

I sold my pax for a DBV and I am very very happy with DBV.

Better flavor
Longer sessions
More temp control
Better high, lasts loooooong

But it's not portable...however I always had a issue when taking pax places bc the battery dies after a few sessions. I would rather get blasted at home with DBV and not have to worry about portable. If I need to bring something portable, I bring my pen (omicron lite) and some shatter or wax.

Even if they do see it just bring some Tabacco n say that's what it's for because technically that's what's it's marketed for...

I'd worry about bringing the bud in more than the pax lol but good luck u should be fine

As someone who went to Riot Fest last year (hooray for great IL festivals), all they did to me was make me empty my pockets. Flowers went in my shoe and I told them that it was my old ipod nano; works every time.

Holy cow, 400 pages since my last post in this thread, it's a lot to read :o

I used to use my PAX a lot, but now it's shelved, replaced by my ever trusty Solo. I have been looking for something you can carry the PAX around in, (hopefully airtight or waterproof and definitely smellproof), because "the smell" gets to me. I can carry around my Solo, and because the stem is the thing that really smells the most, and not attached to the device, I can store just the stem separately and reduce the overall smell to almost nothing.

So anyone have any slim (possibly form-fitting) case suggestions for the PAX, used mainly to make it smell-proof?

A couple of ziplock bags doesn't cut it. Bags make noise, and stink after a while, plus I feel like a schoolkid with a PB&J sandwich in a bag :p

Mentos gum container.

The PAX fits in there? That's one of the things I use for my Solo stems...haha. Actually two fit in there nice.

The candy aisle is the first place I go to try and find something perfect, but the PAX is sort of big?

a good sealing eyeglass box sorta works. just don't store it in there right after vaping since the pax smells for a couple minutes after using and hence will keep some stank inside.

A bit bulky. I know beggars can't be choosers. Surprised there isn't a super solution to this since there are so many PAX users out there?

I was looking at reading glass cases a while ago, since reading glasses are usually smaller and meant to slip in the pocket...but couldn't find something that is enclosed and air-proof.

Found. I am blown away. This is an awesome solution. I've never seen that package before, this must be the KING size of the mentos gum. Or maybe the PAX is smaller than I imagined because I bought a few of these gum containers and it never clicked. Big thanks!

If you read the posts, I believe it is two of those containers, I would look back at those posts and do some more homework. I just remembered it when I read your post.

Big thanks for that link and instructions. I am staring at that container (and have another at hand) that I can use for this setup. I'm shitting bricks because I didn't think it was so easy to conceal (mostly the smell).

Now I have something to look forward to. Shop class for vapers?

Man, I continue to have problems with my PAX mouthpiece. After searching the Internet I wasn't able to figure out why my device goes to blinking blue light when I turn on. After turning it on and off 3 or 4 times it will proceed but can't figure out why it's doing this. I keep the unit very clean and use the lubricant frequently enough.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Also, IMO, PAX is the superior portable when it comes to flavor. I have a Firefly and while I love that device I cannot coax the same flavor I can with low and medium temp settings on the PAX. I am wondering if any of you think another portable vape that is better than the PAX when it come to flavor??

I have found this to be the most ideal smell proof case for the PAX and it has a nice little pouch that can carry a few grams of grinded material:

It's possible u got some lube on the temp selection. I'd try n get it exchanged. I've heard of ppl exchanging for that problem

I agree. This is exactly what happened to mine. I got some lube by the temp button. It worked on and off for a while and eventually stopped working all together. I sent it in and they sent me a brand new one back within about a week (round trip). I hope you purchased from an authorized dealer!

They seriously need to redesign where that temp. button is.

I love everything else about the Pax!

Thank you! I agree about the temp control going elsewhere. I also think they need to explore other other materials for the mouthpiece where it never gets hot. I'd like it if the entire device were slimmer and would really like a stronger magnet for the oven lid. This will help with odor leak. They also need to lose the ridges in the lid--too much material gets trapped in there unnecessarily. It would be stellar if say the temp control were a micro lcd screen that you could control precise temperatures to extract desired cannabinoids.

I don t own a firefly but shouldn t the taste be better with it then the pax... convection vs conduction...
I don t like the flavor of the pax...

In theory the taste should be better and a few folks over on the FF prefer the taste of it over the PAX. I have found this not true for me at all. My hypothesis is that conduction (PAX) literally bakes the material which tastes different to me then material that has heated air passed through it.

The FF vapor quality is smoother, lighter and different than the Pax but noticeably less flavorful. It may because I owned the pax a year before the FF so maybe my preferences were sort of set. Had I started with FF maybe I'd think the opposite.

The flavor stays fine on low, having only used low probably 3 times ever. but besides that the flavor leaves after about 5 hits on medium for me and like 2 on high. the vapor does not though.
