What Song To Play At Your Funeral?

I would have to go with Cage's 4'33. Just to make every fool who showed up at my funeral have to sit there through it. Screw you guys for being alive. I'm dead. Share in my silence.

Edit: If you have time to read about it, this composition has an interesting history.

I'll say they gotta play the last two songs that just played on my I-Pod just shufflin' Through it all.

"I shall be released" by the Band from the Bob Dylan and the Band album, Before the Flood.
followed by,
"She Floated Away" from the Husker Du album, Warehouse: Songs and Stories

Made me think of this thread so these are my choices until later on tonight anyways.
No links though so if you wanna hear what i heard ya gotta work for it EDA, sorry.

You're damn lucky I know the songs you're speaking of, @RUDE BOY. Otherwise, you'd have been putting our online business / friendship relationship in serious jeopardy.

I mean, seriously, when are YOU going to sell something to ME?!

I actually kind of want my mini-rig back...

I swear, I'd be adding to this thread more and more every night, if I weren't trying to hold my ego in check ...

the mini rig right after Husker Du? That little thing was just made for the hammer and didn't know it. One killer combo right now.

you can check the Damn ego checks at the door along with your Eagles Albums!

this thread reminded me of a scene from taxi where jim's dad dies (they were not on speaking terms for many years) and jim spends some time going through his father's things left in his inheritence, among them was his fathers suit and inside the suit pocket is a tape with a song cued up for jim...stevie wonder's you are the sunshine of my life, thought it was a nice goodbye message to leave.

There are a few songs listed in this thread that are already in my iPod, and plenty more than have now been added! Thanks, y'all.

Although I'm wondering if @Enchantre is ever going to follow up on *this.* She probably thinks I forgot.

My current play list for my memorial:

  • Rock & Roll Heaven
  • Knocking on Heaven's Door
  • I hear you knocking, but you can't come in
  • Highway to Hell
  • Bat out of Hell

I'm not done, and some of the ones posted above sound great... :)

Try listening to this entire song. Try not moving, or focusing on anything else, for 5 minutes.

"In my mind, I have shot you and stabbed you through your heart..."

I miss you, Mark. More than you will ever know.
