I'll try to clarify the situation for you. Many people sent their older PonGs back in exchange for new GPonGs. Many of the PonGs exchanged were thinwalled and not meant to be used with the PNP, which caused them to melt (LIKE YOURS). Even though we all assumed we were getting brand new GPonGs with plastic that was made to withstand the heat of the PNP, It turned out TRVB was only retro-fitting the old PonGs and praying they didnt melt with the glass in them.

I received my Gpong from Dave without even sending my melted thick walled PonG back.
The BRAND NEW Gpong is DEFINITELY THIN WALLED as I have the old thick and thin pongs here to compare.
Nothing has really changed, they are using the same piece and hoping it doesnt melt with the glass lining in it. The glass is probably going to conduct heat and cause melting eventually.
I've only used it once and it has held up so far.

Just to be clear my only aim is to explain the situation from my perspective. I still use my GPonG often and love it.

I just timed my pnp, 90 seconds warm up to the first light, fully charged with a room temperature of 72°.
Thank you very much @vtblues I appreciate the feedback very much. I knew my 1st unit heated up with the quickness! I just sent my unit back to theyoyokid, it kept shutting off on me.:ugh:
Hopefully I'll get one that heats up faster this time.

@SushiX I have dealt with the yoyokid for quite some time and I don't think you will get any better responses and quick warranty exchanges anywhere else.
I think your letting your emotions get the best of you, he is a great guy, and easy to deal with. I will go through yoyokid before I go through Vaporblunt, He's always been more than fair and super easy to deal with.
Maybe send him a message and send the Gpong to him. If it's no good to use, once he sees it, he may very well send you a replacement. Just an idea, wouldn't hurt to try.

I wanted to share the work of @Ed's TnT 3" blackwood insert for the new gpong.

I was looking to just cool down the dry hits while keeping the as much stealth as possible. Ed really pulled through with this one its a lot smoother hits and is the perfect temp vapor, no more burning my lips. I sent him the new gpong so he could use the glass for sizing, I told him not to put a screen in it since I put screen on all my bullets. He told he could start it around the first week of august since he was busy with large orders. To my suprise he tells me he got it done over the weekend and is sending it monday morning. I got the package thursday and started vaping the pnp with a wood air path which I enjoy the flavor with my midz haha. I could be happier with the out come it seem hit better and really cools the hits down. It is snug to the unit and is an air tight fit with the o-ring just like the glass insert. Thank you @Ed's TnT for your quality craftsmanship and awesome customer service.

Hello, everyone.. I'm happy cuz finally I can post on this phorum. :D

I bought this vape arround March 2014, my first unit has that melting problem y it finally get completly dead.
Here is the video... (I uploaded it a few months ago)

Well, afetr that I have to get the unit back to "theyoyokid", he only told me that my unit was covered uner waranty and he gives me a replacement. So, warranty was fine, but I've spent a lot of money on the shiping from México to CA and again back to México.. (Im Mexican)

Well, I was so mad cuz I was completly sure that my unit will get damaged again, but thanks to god the Gpong arrived to my hands and it's much better vape experience, and my PNP has living more than just one moth!

I must say there's a little melting, but cleaning is much easier I clean it about 2 days per week, I use it all day... I'm using hot water on glass, and iso on the screen just a little, is perfect! :D
I had a bad experience and I'm having a good experience right now :)

I have a question... There's any way to get screens replacements for the GPONG? Mine gets a little hole on the sreen and my spittle pass trough that hole, it gets dirty so faster..

I apriciate all things that I've learn on this phorum like a "guest" but I'm happy to be a member finally. LOL. and sorry If I have mistakes on my english..

@Abraham310,

Welcome to FC!

Your message was perfectly clear and your English is very good.

I pulled the GPong screen out the first day that I got it and use a fine 3/8" or 9-10mm diameter mesh screen and dome it a bit place that on top of the bullet.

If you really want the screen in the glass insert, then you can take a thin rod (just a bit smaller than the inner diameter of the glass insert opening) and warp a screen around it shaping it to the same style screen that originally came with the glass insert.

I'm not sure if replacement screen from VB or TYYK1.

@TherealVaporblunt or @theyoyokid1, are GPong replacement screens available?

@Philreal187,

Damn that looks sick!
Must taste nice.
How does ED recommend cleaning it?

ED is definitely talented.

You're the man for making an idea come to real life... Philreal187 making his ideas become a reality... it must make every hit taste that much sweeter.

The length is 3 inches I would have to measure the inside diameter for ya I'm not too sure about that one.

@420time If i measured right looks likes about 7mm I.D. on Eds, and the same for the gpong glass I.D.

Does he have these on his site? And also what if the bullet touches the wood? It wont burn it? The bullet conducting heat and touching the plastic is what melts the mouthpieces.

It looks like the mouthpiece part of the Ascent stems he does...

Ed said it is really close to the ascent stem but not exactly the same.

I have been watching that after every session. After the first session I did notice what looked like sapp or resin build up but im pretty sure it was just the butter that ed uses to seal the wood. Since then I havent noticed any thing else. When I first noticed I sent ed an email with a picture, he gave me his # to call b/c he had questions. I gave him a call explained what i seen he pretty much confirmed it was the butter but told me to keep watch to make sure that the wood doesnt get too hot and burn. I use mine on setting 3 unless i got the funk that stinks thru the trunk then i go 2. So far all is good I probably have about 8 to 10 total session out of the new stem and its really working well.

So after a good month of working flawlessly, my Massdrop bought pnp stopped working. Well the battery stopped working I'm guessing.

It doesn't hold a charge anymore, there was no signs of degrading before this either. I can still use all the temps when it's plugged in, but once I unplug, it dies right away.

I tried leaving it to charge overnight using another outlet last night, and still not working.

Has anyone had this problem before?

It looks like the Ed's mouthpiece is a better alternative to the current model that's available. Im sure it does a great job of cooling the vapor with the extended mouthpiece. Something that's been voiced on several occasions on this thread I'm so surprised that the current mouthpiece that VB came out with didn't have more of an extended mouthpiece.

Many of you should get a hold of Ed and get a mouthpiece made. He does wonderful work and is quite the craftsman. He really enjoys his work. I have 4 of his pieces, it really makes your unit unique.

@CarolKing definitely is a hundred times cooler then the gpong which was a hundred times better then the pong so im really enjoying it. There has been no further signs of any kind heat damage, and the taste is great. If I had any cool glass I might have went with a 14mm or 18mm Wong. But I figured the gpong will be good for my water tool.

Thats the big trade off. U would have to change out anytime u want to use the PNWT. JoDa is prepared to make longer glass sections for the GPonG but he needs one sent to him to use for specs.

Hello

My very first vape, the PNP, arrives tomorrow.

After reading some of the posts in this particular thread I've grown concerned.

1. what is the likelihood that the collar will crack and is there a solution to stop it from reoccurring?

2. what is the likelihood the mouthpiece will melt, how will you know when it starts to happen, and isn't that dangerous to inhale? Also, which is THE best mouthpiece upgrade.

3. can any specific battery type work?

I don't mind shelling out a little extra money to ensure the best experience possible.

The main issue with collars breaking imo has been addressed by the new GPonGs. It was mostly due to improper cleaning and then wiggling the pong out of the collar.
