Awesome, that definitely qualifies as beyond...
I did 2 runs today. First, Jack Herer 14 g yield 4.6 a BEFORE purge. Second, even mix 3.5g of each Jack-and-Sour Purple Diesel yield 2.4g BEFORE purge. I will post finished product pics later. Here's work in progress round one.

30grams of sugar trim very frosty will yield you how many grams?
My yeild are lower than your's I believe.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong?

Last batch I only got 3 grams however it almost too powerful!

Jack Herer x Dutch Treat = Dutch Crunch

I am not growing now, so I don't have access to trim. I am using whatever strain that my connect has at a given time. Those two runs combined yielded 6.4g from 21g of cured flowers.

...that would be nice...

...the more I read here the more I am thinking to blow off the BHO and use a QWET method as we will need to use so much ethanol anyways...

...am I repeating meself...???...I am just trying to grok wtf I am missing here...I am easily confused...

I was hoping to get 10g per 30g?
you will need to use decent larf or tops to reach into 33.33% return...

some trim just has to high a plant matter to extractable ratio... fan leaves should IME just be tossed... they are of such low extractable value that they tend to bring more contamination than goods.

sugar leaf and larf bud and you will see an improvement in color at least... less chlorophyll present... most likely increase in yield too if you use top buds.

edit: I rarely see above 15% coming from trim.

just my :2c:

Anyone with qwet experience..

Just performed my first 2 washes on 7g's of sour d buds. I think I used too much ec the first run. What effect with that have beside longer evap? I froze my material and ec. I used about 3/4 of a pint roughly 275ml on the first was and the other 100ml roughly on the second wash.

The first wash is on parchment paper lined Pyrex dish sitting in a water bath with the product at 105f-110f. The second is in just the Pyrex dish on a heating pad around 95f.

First run I can see the golden tint the second looks pretty clear. Any ideas on evap time? Or any help at all is welcome. I'm looking for some dabable shatter. Am I on the right track? If not a timeframe how do I kno when I'm done purging? Thanks guys

get a fan blowing across it and 300 ml usually is reduced 90% at around 3hrs... but it depends on how thin a film you have. I some times have a kinda thick film cause Its easier to collect on parchment... watch out if you winterized that shit will shatter right off the paper when you fold it if its done...

It's pretty thick lol but I will get a fan too. The first run seems to have more activity going on and that's the thicker of the two

Edit: First run is on right second on left

 I use the same dishes!

I cannot remember whos idea it was but ive started placing a computer fan directly over the dish pointing down into it and that really speeds up the process.

before that I would place a fan blowing across it... but strait down onto it works much faster... any small fan will work, just put a cooling rack over the dish and lace the fan on it... if its small enough.

Run 1 was some dark amber shatter(.7g) and the second was dark amber "pull snap"(.3g). So 1g return on 7g's of material with 2 runs so I believe that's around 14% return. Not bad for the first time. Also both pack a mean punch and are yummy lol thanks for the help guys

...'Dlow might have me on ignore but I am taking notes...

...one thing I remain uncertain of even after reading skunk phama is the ratio of solvent to material...

...how many milliliters of 195 % ethanol would you use for 28 grams of nice bud...???...

...

Performed another qwet run yesterday with the same materials.
  • 7g's frozen (0f) sour d
  • 150ml of frozen (0f) EC
  • First wash was 3 min with 5-10sec of swirling each min on the min
  • Poured liquid and bud into strainer with coffee filter (my mistake) into 5x7 Pyrex dish
  • Heat purged directly of skillet with temps of the oil 95-115f and fan directly on dish
  • Repeat for wash #2
  • Roughly 2-3hr purge
  • First wash .5 dark shatter, second wash .2 dark shatter 10% yield
Not to exciting of a yield but it's only my second run. Anyway I'm prob getting dark color cuz I left the bud in the filter while it was straining. It's not green but it is dark. But it def packs a punch so I'm still cool with that. Any and all suggestions are welcomed and encouraged thanks

...how many milliliters of 195 % ethanol would you use for 28 grams of nice bud...?

doesnt matter really. as long as the flowers are completely submerged during the wash you are good to go. i usually fill it about a .5" above the top of the herb.

the only factor i can think of being concerned with regarding the amount of ethanol is the evap time. obviously the less ethanol you use the less time you will have to wait.

...would it be worth getting the temperature down below 0...???...

...I figured that one might as well have a dedicated freezer and saw a small Summit low temperature freezer that can operate at -20 degrees for fairly cheap...

fuck me! I totally touched on this subject earlier in the thread (ill be it on the skeptical side) but yea... live extraction! thats what makes holy water.... hrmmm.... wonder what gear is needed for this.... I only breezed through the article... but it would no doubt perserve the most delicate of terpenes and flavinoids... keeping chlorophyll out being the biggest bitch... or rather removing it...

out on a limb... the holy water article flat out states is bho with more terps...

but "the clear" solvent free extract states that they only use heat and pressure.

pressure distillation?

edit: @DogBoy it would only extend the soak time to go below 0°f but you may be used to C° so then yes going below will help to a point... but again too low and it will slow the dissolving process and may even hinder it.

Re: The Clear
From what I have heard around the block it's not a barometric extraction it is microwave hydrodiffusion and gravity extracted using a NEOS GR to refine shitty solvent extracted oils and then they recombine artificial terpenes in specific blends for the "flavor" of the particular strain. So basically it's like pure gold with a different extraction process and the added terps taken to the next level by being blended to mimic strain flavor profiles. The HGH oils use the same terp manufacturer for their concentrates from what I understand...

I too was wondering how plausible it would be to use/hack an existing microwave into something like a NEOS GR. Milestone labs says the optimal extraction is achieved in that unit with only 500 watts for 500 grams of material and processes it in only 15 min. Not a lot of power being used in their reactor but you would think got to be something to warrant this 30k and up price tag I am hearing about

^^From what I can see & think I understand most components would be available off the shelf, an Arduino board might bridge gaps in function, as manuf says "Based on a relatively simple principle...."

30k, jeez that explains the missing price tag, but check the low returns on samples(not canna), barely breaking 1% at the top end:

http://www.milestonesrl.com/images/extraction/neosneosgr/NEOS GR-CAT325EN-002.pdf

Ya but looking at other extraction rates of return I think they were fairly similar comparatively. You are probably right though with that low wattage unless it's some crazy specialized reactor an Adruino or similar would probably take care of the finer points needed. Gonna have to do some more digging after work :science:

From what I understand the 30k ish is the low end..... Goes up to like 60k with all the bells and whistles :whoa:

@tony yayo Would love to hear more about how you clean up your qwet with charcoal. What kind of charcoal do you use? What is the process that you use?
