Hi Ed (or anyone), can your 2" solo Wong's be used as a short stealthy stem? Or should they only be used with a water tool?

Thanks!!

Hello and good morning everyone, I hope you all are enjoying your weekend and all is well! Been busy the last couple of days with my boys, they start school this coming Wednesday, I took them yesterday to the annual wildlife extravaganza to see all the cool outdoors and hunting stuff. We had a great time, we sampled so many different kinds of wild smoked sausage, talked to alot of vendors, got to try their hands at turkey and duck calls with the experts, and spend a whole bunch of money! Ohhh we bought a bunch of stuff and I told them before we left the parking lot, "DO NOT TELL YOUR MOM HOW MUCH WE SPENT!" Whats the first thing that comes out of one of ems mouth, " I am surprised daddy didnt run out of money!" Say what, damn the wife got that look on her face and said, "Really" what all did he buy? Oh yeah that went off really well! She was supposed to already be gone on girls night out, when we got home I quickly put all the stuff in the shop trying not to be seen, all was good til my oldest piped up. But hey the wildlife expo only happens once a year and we needed some new hunting gear, we had a great time! I am just waiting to hear the wife go off about how much I spent, sooner or later its gonna come up.

Anyway all is good on my end, still buried with so much to do, got about 350 solo stems to get done, 100 EQ accessories, 40 ascent stem sets, and a few other things for wholesale, got a little custom work to do, got a few retail sale pieces that have to get done, over counted my stock and let some sell when shouldnt have so thats gotta be done. And am dragging serious ass on the special project I am working on. I havent had a whole lot of get up and go lately, think I have gotten a little burned out and needed to take a step back for a few days. Its a trip, I still talk to customers and FC members that really dont know what all I do, I have gotten my hands in so many things and work with so many stores around the world. I dont just make a couple stems here and there, I work with major companies, distributors ordering 100's of 1000's of pieces, and run my own store. I am very thankful for all the opportunities and work that has come my way, I have stuck with it and made something from nothing that has grown beyond my expectations. I have been blessed over and over and am so grateful to you all and everyone for your support, suggestions, cooperation, feedback, enthusiasm, business, I could go on and on about how I have benefited from my wood business. Thank you all again for all you do and for stopping by, I do so appreciate it!

@queefermadness I am sorry for the delay in getting back to you, but family takes precedent, I am sure you understand. As @as stated and very well said it will be hot so you may wanna knock down the temp a notch or so. Start off slow at a really low setting and slowly bump it up til it works best for you, no need to rush it.

@as Thanks for chiming in with the advice, I appreciate it!

I wish you all the best and pls let me know if I can do anything for you!

Does anyone have in depth instructions on cleaning Ed's Solo stems? And when do you know you need to clean?

thejonny2014,

Vitolo

Vaporist
  1. Take a pipe cleaner, and dip it in some regular proof liquor, like rum, or vodka.
  2. Squeeze it out so that it is only damp.
  3. Swab the walls with it repeatedly.
  4. For extra soiled stem, used bristle type pipe cleaner...
  5. for extra large use a q-tip.
  6. rub walls as best you can.
  7. Do not rinse....
  8. do not rush to dry.
  9. You are done.

The slight amount of resin/THC oil that remains has been diluted with safe alcohol, and spread inside, and will act as a seal to preserve and keep Ed's Stem good forever.
It will have a nice essence and flavor.
It will be just as easy to clean each time, and will improve with age.

I am still using Ed's stems that are 3+ years old, that have been cleaned repeatedly

Great! Can you use ISO instead of liquor?

And what about cleaning the screen? Do you remove the clip and then soak the screen in ISO? If so, how do you put the screen back?

That would be unwise.
It has no residues to protect the wood... it only strips..
It will make the flavor bitter.... and is toxic.
Iso is safe on Stainless steel and Glass.
Wood should not be exposed to Iso

The screen should not need to be cleaned ... if heated and used completely vaping the meds inside.
If it requires cleaning then yes, remove it and use Iso, and put it back the way it came out. The thread has images.
I have never had to remove an eds stem screen.
I just use a brush.

I then use suction from my mouth... or even stick a straw or small piece of tubing in and suck out any particles. (no.. I do not care if I eat ABV crumbs).
I never blow into the stems in the wrong direction... it adds moisture from your breath, that will build up with residues over time. Sucking avoids this... and cleans at the same time.

Hello everyone,

Today I received a blackwood stem for my e-nano and it looks beautiful..
I like the size, it looked bigger in the photos.

Anyways, I have a question. Is the heat port supposed to go all the way through and stop at the ring that holds the ss screen?

Shouldn't it be like an epicvape gong/stem where only the top part of the heat port goes through and then it stops, to leave some space for herbs?

Look again.
This time use something to measure.
You could be getting confused due to the discreet and sudden stop as the Heat Port slides into the ed's stem.
In spite of that solid stop (more solid than glass, which stops differently) there is room for your herbal matter.

How much room are we talking about? More than 1mm?

Depends on how you pack

No matter how little I pack, I get herbs all over the heat port. Even if I don't cover the whole screen.

I don't know, it looks like there is no space in there, measuring it confirms it.
Even if there is some space, it can't be more than 1mm.

Is 1mm normal or is there smth wrong with my stem?

Getting meds on your heat port....
Hold stem with meds in the tip...
about 1/2 full
keep that stem aiming to the sky.
turn Nano upside down, and lower it onto the stem, and inhale.
If the Heat port touches the meds, or compresses them the trouble may not be the stem, but the heat port.
Pictures?

Are you scorching your meds?

I wouldn't say so but I'm not sure everyone would agree with me..
I got pretty dark brown ABV but not black, starting with 7 and finishing off at 8-8.5.

Just did exactly as you said..
At 1/2 full, I got meds on the heat port at every single hit.. The load looked compressed, too.
I will try with less meds tomorrow (as I'm too wrecked for today :D)
Will post some pics too if still needed.

I dont really find this is a problem unless you scorch the meds. Solution for that is to pack less and/or use lower heat.

Thanks guys, I really hope that I'm doing something wrong.. It's so beautiful that I'm already attached to it.. :ko:

It sounds like a loose fit. Take a very close look at your Nano heat port, maybe measure how far it is to the stop ridge, then do that exact measure in your stem. if it is going past that, I'd recommend contacting Ed for assistance.

Hello and good morning!

@thejonny2014 Thank you for stopping by and I hope that Vitolo's post was helpful. He said it well and I would recommend using his technique for cleaning the stem.

@Sapios I am sorry to hear you are having problems with the stem, I have sent you an email about it and look forward to hearing your response.

Thanks everyone for pitching in with your posts for advice and helping out! I get behind at times and wanna say I appreciate you all stepping in and trying to help out other members with questions and problems.
