My question is, does anyone have any other details on the LB, such as mesh type (woven?) and mesh diameter/wire thickness, or even better, a supplier?
Any information on the copper coated steel wire would also be appreciated.
Also, if you could give me some technical specs of the LB, such as resistance of the steel wire/mesh, or the currents/voltages it operates at that would be very helpful.
Here are a couple links that may be of interest to you. I am actually thinking of building my own MFLB to save money.

AS long as the OD is the same as the ID of the LB, altho when not in a a pinch you may want to consider food grade tubing. :|

I have no personal experience with that charger, but I took max's advice, and bought this charger from Thomas Distributing earlier today.

Maybe max can give his opinion on this, if he knows which one of these might be better.

Wow, I can't believe how popular the lunchbox appears to be.

Am I the only one who considers this to be a 100% horrible product?

Mine just sits gathering dust. Biggest waste of money ever.

(just thought this thread could use a little more balance :) I hate to see people throw their money away)
Perhaps you'd care to elaborate? What is it, SPECIFICALLY, that you don't like about the Launch Box? Also, might I ask are you an experienced vaporist? The reason I ask is because it is perhaps that you dislike vaporising itself rather than the LB specifically?

Hey, it's cool if you don't like the LB. I'm just a customer who happens to really like mine...but I will say that I had to learn to use it properly, first. By this I mean that the herb must be well-ground and that you must sip s l o w l y from the Launch Box in order to accomplish Magic Flight! Seriously, it is a GREAT vape, but you gotta put a little more brain-power and effort into it than just sparkin' a doob and sucking! :2c:

Read through the majority of this thread and with advice from my friend who already owns this vape, I've decided to purchase it. I was just wondering if $99 is the cheapest you can get the Launch Box for or is there any coupons or cheaper places to purchase the vape. Thanks!

You can get it cheaper. Puffitup.com has a 15% off [one-time use] coupon, Vapeworld.com has a 12% off one [which I think may be used more than once]. Both sell the MFLB.

See the "Retailer Discussion and Discounts" thread here.

I don't consider the MFLB a waste of money and it's a perfect vaporizer for me since it went above and beyond all of my expectations and it suits my vaporizing needs perfectly since I like to keep my use a secret.

I can get very ripped on a tiny amount of herb for a lot longer than I would from smoking twice that amount and I stay high for a lot longer than I ever did from smoking.

I can understand if other people don't like it or it does not suit their needs.

Did you miss my post on the last page that said I'd been using a 204F for years? I'd say that's a rec. Here's a comparison chart for some of the MAHA chargers. Personally, I think there's such a good selection of models from them that I wouldn't bother looking at another manufacturer.
http://www.thomasdistributing.com/mh-compare-maha-nimh-aa-aaa-battery-chargers.htm

O wait....this batteries won't do me any good because they need to be "low discharge right"
No they don't. Low discharge just means you can charge them, put them away, and a month later they'll have much more remaining charge than regular batteries, which will lose their charge much quicker when they don't get used right away. If you charge, then use them right away, regular high capacity bats (2500mAh and up) will give you longer use time in the LB.

The longer I own this product, the more dissatisfied I am with it.

In my original review I said I would only recommend this as a secondary portable vapourizer. Now that the novelty factor has worn off, I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

The fact is, twice the material will get you half the effect (if you're lucky) compared to a convection vapourizer.

When you're finished a load, you're either left with material that is half brown and half green (not fully done) or half brown and half black (over done).

Magic flight loses all credibility by claiming this unit is nearly as efficient as convection models. This is a joke. Maybe (but I highly doubt it) under strict laboratory conditions, but in real world usage, not a chance.

The *only* good qualities about this product are it's portability and wireless operation, but that isn't enough. I don't even use mine any more.

And don't even get me started on the absurd/awkward usage of batteries. Peeling labels is annoying and even then the batteries sometimes don't work without wiggling them just right.

To summarize, this product just plain sucks. Eventually there will be a decent battery-powered portable unit, but this isn't it.

Save your money and get a real vapourizer from Arizer, 7th Floor, or Storz & Bickel.

I've *never* gotten a strong effect using the lunchbox, regardless of what I put in it (or how much).
Just my :2c: on this one.. I don't have the same issues you've experienced, at least not after the second time using it.. My abv can come out an nice even light brown, or I can toast it to an even dark, dark brown. The only time I got a mix of green or black was the first time or two I used it before I got the hang of it..

I have (and have used) several other vapes, & to me the MFLB is pretty efficient, not as much as the direct draw PD/MZ types, but considering I can bring this up to super-dark with just adjusting my breath.. I get almost every last drop out of my herb. Batteries- never had an issue getting them to connect, no wiggle needed for me. Pulling them out so the connection is broken at the end of my draw is a one handed operation, no fumbling needed. Brought it to a party last night, and everyone (save one very blotto girl who kept on staring at the light like it had to pre-heat or something..) had no issues using it. I definitely get a VERY good effect from it and has become my most used one around the house just because it's so damn handy.

To each their own is the way I operate, but.. this is a real vaporizer, it works well for the majority of the people that have posted, and has worked very well for the dozen or so that I've introduced to it. It's tiny and discrete.. and very effective.

That is exactly how I feel. The LB really has changed my life, and where I am able to vaporize. It also helps my pain more than the Vapor Warez I was using. I recently packed the VW away, and am using the Launch Box exclusively now.

Maybe your unit is out of whack, grab another and see if your feelings are the same. It wont cost you anything.

comparing the LB to desktop vapes isnt fair either. It is a portable, it obviously isnt as effecient as an at home unit. It seems like some peoples expectations were too high.

But hey, thatsjust me. I love my LB and its perfect for me. But im not everyone.

Sorry, but IMO you're the one with no credibility. The simple and easy answer to a completely vaped trench with high efficiency is just loading a small amount. I can use this vape with just a very small pinch of herb to just take the edge off-not even a real high. I can also keep at it, loading a larger amount but still very low quantity, and get an excellent buzz. Of course how long it takes to get a good high depends on the herb and the person. Personally, although I'm an everyday user, I don't have a high tolerance. The LB can be very efficient. It can also be inefficient if not used correctly/carefully.

For such a unique model-and one that requires a good deal of attention due to bat connection time, load size, the charge state of the bat, and what point you're at in the vaping process of a bowl, the LB has garnered almost universal praise. I still maintain that anyone not satisfied with the performance either has a defective LB (easily remedied), isn't using it correctly, or has unreal expectations.

spooky, 9 of your 11 posts (to this point) on the forum have been negative LB posts in this thread. You've made your point. You don't like it. You're also in a very small minority with your opinion. Please find something else to post about, or just lurk and read. I'd hate to see you get into trolling territory.

I think it is true that even the *best* of things get a certain percentage of people who don't like them. Sometimes, it's the person's fault. Like the souls who put a negative mark on Porsche because they are "too fast", LOL! I mean, that's a classic mis-match of product with consumer.

Just like, when I used to smoke out of my ProtoPipe back in "the day", I didn't expect to get a hit from it like I would from my Bong! Hello?! It's a Porsche, it GOES FAST! Hello?! It's a portable hitter! You aren't going to get blasted from it like, say, an SSV or, I presume, the soon-to-be-famous CLOUD. The consumer, the BUYER has some responsibility in his/her purchase. Yeah, of course, sometimes there is a junker put out and that quickly becomes obviousl. The MFLB ain't a junker. It's the "real deal" for what it is designed for. For a lot of people, it works as their daily driver. For others, it's a 'tween toker. But it gets the job done, :2c:

A question for those who purchased this from Puffitup. On their site they say that Discreet Shipping is used, but what exactly does that mean? What is shown on the box and your credit card? Vapeworld shows that the packaging is labeled Warehouse Goods Customer Service, but Puffitup has the Launch Box for cheaper and doesn't specify their discreet shipping. Thanks!

My LB came in a FedEx box with no real indication or markings of what was inside. It was quiet discreet.

As for credit card statement, I bought a disposable credit card from Walmart, put exactly how much money I needed ($105 for the LB, a whip, and two extra batteries from puffitup w/ the 15% discount code) used it, and then I'm just going to throw it away. Sadly, to activate the credit card you need to provide your name/social security number or drivers license information. So it is linked to your name, but probably is harder to trace than whatever credit/debit card you use normally.

You want a visa gift card if you want to remain anon.:ninja: Most banks do do them. What you signed up for is a pre paid credit card. That is linked to you just as a normal credit card.

I wouldn't worry about it, the LB is not bomb making materials.

And while I respect everyone's opinions here, I am surprised at the recent LB hate in this thread. I have to agree with the post a few above me stating that if you don;t like this vaporizer, you are simply doing it wrong. My main vape is an Herborizer and I sometimes use the LB more often and with a definite comparable high. You can't beat the convenience!

Thank you, the LB is very good. I have a LB and a MZ with a Tooty and love them both.
