Arizer Solo

Thanks for the welcome, CarolKing! Yes I have been seriously considering getting the newer model for those exact reasons... well, for the being able to use while charging anyway. I did not realize that the newer stems have been improved too. I suppose I could just buy a few stems from Arizer... I don't know. The newer model is very tempting- and I really like the silver (I have black now). I've tried other portables but my heart still belongs to the Solo! Decisions, decisions...
Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear... dabbing probably doesn't help. There are NO NEW STEMS FROM ARIZER. The last stem update they did was going from 2 holes to 4 holes in the actual part you put your goods in. The stems with notches I talk about are PVHES. Planet Vape High Efficiency Stems. Planet Vape is a web store for vaporizers and such. Planet Vape is the only current supplier of glass stems with notches on them.

113 carr mcmasters or PHVES stem or GonG come with one.

I will try the wood stem in a minute:

If you drop it, it won't break! You already fixed that with padding on your floor though! Glass tastes best!

If you have a newer Solo, most likely the cap is too thick making the gap above the oven too short. You can sand the ring down to fit (as I've done a couple of times, not much fun....) or do as another Member suggested simply put a piece of tape on the cap to keep it from turning further.

OF

planet vape sells two different o-rings, one regular and one "thin". The thin being for newer models with the thicker cap.

These are the PlanetVape instructions... It's a lot easier if you do it with the stem in place:
I can't believe they still publish these directions. They are horrible to be blunt.

I would write it like this:

1. Unscrew cap
2. Place O-ring on stem.
3. Insert stem into Solo.
4. Place cap over stem and screw until desired tightness.
5. Remove stem.
6. Enjoy.

Was that so hard?

The taste is the best bit I think!

FLAVOR?
I tried a few different vaporizer' s and they were not bad.
However the SOLO was simplified and the FLAVOR is civilized.

Very inexpensive for a medical device.

I always have been a glass aficionado!
Tonight I broke a pattern.
Two sessions in a row with my @Ed's TnT WOOD SOLO STEM!
I have to be honest.
I found the perfect way to use it.
Soaked it in THE oil.
Condition the wood.
However the FLAVOR profile?
Gourmet!
Tonight in the dark I reach for the SOLO and a loaded ed' s wood stem.
Set my level 4 (glass) to 5 (wood) my zone.
Wow!

Feels like I got a new device?

Ed I want to tell you love your work!

@Snappo made me take a deeper look.
@OF has no issues with his?
@CarolKing likes hers?

ED' S Wood Stem in my rotation.
THC oil works on WOOD!

I miss this thread. I sold my solo so I haven't been here in a while. I wish I could say I'm missing it because I've replaced it with something that suits me better, but she was a great vaporizer. It lasted six months of abuse before I had to use the warranty. Great customer service too. I'm hoping they release a new version soon. Not too many changes needed. Just a bit more pocket friendly.
Rest assured its in good hands

The SOLO suits me perfectly.
Plus it's so cheap!
As long as you have found what works for you!

CANNABIS is the HOLY GRAIL!

Vaporizers are only tools!

Had my solo for a few days now and have to say I am very impressed.

The draw takes the most getting used to but when I get a o-ring sorted think this will be everything I need to when I am away from the house.

The taste is the best bit I think!

I agree, the taste on the Solo is freaking awesome!!! Especially compared to something like the Pax, which I personally have never been that fond of- aside from its ability to blend in just about anywhere. When it comes to flavor, the Solo is king!

The Solo has superior flavor over many of the portables out. The Pax and the Pinnacle Pro don't produce the flavor that the Solo provides. So often I would get a burnt taste with the Pnp. The first 3 min or so of good flavor is all. I tried the Pax on a few occasions. I wasn't impressed. It is stealth, but I want more than that out of a vaporizer.

I vaporize for health but I want a vape that produces wonderful flavor too.

I couldn't agree more! I've never tried the Pinnacle Pro but the Pax, the MFLB, even the Ascent don't give me the flavor I get from my trusty Solo. I've been looking further into those wood stems, verrrrrrrrry interesting! I might just have to get one of those instead of another glass stem, to take my Solo to a whole new level...

They must of just added the thinner ones. I purchased a newer solo a month ago and they only had the thicker ones.

I just ordered the thinner ones. Just in case the thicker ones crack my base plate over time.

They actually do, only in the description.

My base plate is chipping off on my newer model Solo, almost half way around. Eventually the whole bottom will be chipped. I didn't notice any cracking in the beginning. Then kinda forgot about checking. Then a piece broke off, then a bigger piece broke. It isn't exposing anything, I don't think. I will see how things go. I hate to send it back. It doesn't affect the use at all.

I've never used an o-ring once with this. I do have one on my older model and no chipping on that Solo.

Glad your enjoying your SOLO!

For a portable it was the one I can handle the other's were a bit harsh.
I don't mention names because some like those same vaporizer I can't handle.
Cannabis taste so good why would you destroy the flavor?

I don't get it?
Doesn't matter to some I guess?

If you have the new model shouldn't you take it off and replace it with a thin piece of aluminum? (the plastic bottom plate)
Take a pair of tin snips and cut your new piece from a traced drawing.
Use a cordless and make new screw holes.
Better than the original!

I not handy with things like that. If I think it's a problem I will send the Solo back to PIU.
Sorry!

Back to our regular programed broadcasting:

Have you had PINEAPPLE KUSH in a SOLO?

I feel sorry for the people geographically challenged!

OMG, Ataxian, that literally has me salivating! lol.... I have not had the fortune yet to try Pineapple Kush in my Solo but it sounds AMAZING! I did try some Orange Crush awhile back, which was ridiculously yummy.

Orange Crush is very nice!

I have read about Pinapple Kush for the last month I had to try some.
I always get GSC which I love.
However I had to try the PK!

It's part of my rotation.

Flavor/Effect

Medically speaking of course!

Great call! Great strain. A true Godsend to MMJ folks that need/want to function........ Good thing to stash away for emergencies for at least some of us.

If you're a MMJ type and haven't tried this (or some other similar) high CBD strain you really should........

OF
I am, chronic pain and nausea. Migraines I haven't had in some time now thankfully. I haven't had this particular strain, but I did have CannaQuin, a cross between Cannatonic and Harlequin, two excellent strains. Didn't get me high at all but it was like vaporizing Vicodin  You're up north some, have you tried ACDC? I've heard about it, seems to be the new high CBD strain.

Not sure if any of you heard, but a new bill is being introduced to the US House of Reps about trying to make some very low-THC/high-CBD strains legal for medical use.

http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/28/health/federal-marijuana-bill/index.html

Hopefully something good comes out of it.
