RezBlock /Cranberry Extract

Assuming its safe, would you vape through anything other than water if it offered some benefit?

I mixed cranberry juice with my water in a pipe to test out the concept.
It worked, and I did not get sick from the bong water scent.
The pipe stayed clean.
I decided I would try rezblock and similar products.
That's it.

I no way did I want to imply that cranberry juice could make one sick. I was more afraid of the fruit sugar counteracting any "non-sticky" properties. ;)
Anyhow: Only pink bong water is good bong water. ;)

I did not misunderstand... or think that you implied the "pink" water would make me sick.
I get sick from the smell of waterpies, or bongs.
Even after one vapor hit passes through it I can smell a disgusting odor. This is what prevents me from using water.
I was saying that trying the cranberry juice was good... in that the SMELL of the water did not make me sick.
This meant to me that the RezBlock or the lab tested identical stuff(Botanical Choice Cranberry Extract) would ALSO prevent me from smelling used water... and similarly (to the cranberry juice) help me not smell things that make me feel "queazy".
I hope that has clarified my comment's intent.

I concur!
Only good water to vape through is pink for me too.

I may have found another application for CE, and I hope someone can test my theory and see if it works or if it's just placebo on my part.

It started with me bitching about how the male joint on my DI pieces gets gunked up pretty quickly. Seems to be just the way it is. Then I was thinking about how CE seems to prevent/lessen resin buildup. So....

I cleaned the male joint of the rig and the female joint of the dome with ISO. Then I applied a single drop of CE to the male joint, placed the female joint on it, and gave it a slight twist to spread the CE across the joint.

It could just be me, but it seems like the joint is staying a whole lot cleaner now. In addition the CE seems to provide a little lubrication that keeps the joints from locking. It also seems to help with sealing on one of my domes that has a wobbly joint. Give it a try and let me know how it works for you.

I always tilt my piece after filling so the CBE/water mix runs back up the joint. That way I don't get stuff coating the joint above the water level and below the gong.

Now, when I do this, I keep my finger over the open end of the joint so it won't spill, and then wipe my finger off on the outside of the joint for the reasons stated above.

It kind of works but the reclaim can and will still seep into the joint. This is why I think all male joints for oil specific rigs should be unground.

I've decided to discontinue using CE on my fumed recycler. I started to wonder if the low pH might have adverse effetts, so I switched to distilled water only. What I found was amazing. The red and yellow honeycombed foot started turning grays, purples and blues. All the colors were popping and vibrant. Why? I think because pure water is such a great refractor and reflector of light. The CE is great for cleaning purposes, but the pink liquid can't be as sparkling as just water. I want the light show! I'll put up with a little buildup.

Maybe jut use less CE? I can barely notice a vague pinkish tint in mine if I look real close. Im only using 2 drops for my largest EFS can though.

I might need a smaller eyedropper, it's a pretty small recycler, even a drop feels like a lot. But mostly, in a point I made poorly, I find the patterns and collisions of color more exciting. If I want pink, I'll have it fumed pink. Which brings my next question. Any alternative to CE that is completely colorless and allow the water to really shimmer?

I'm probably just using too much, but I like to pretend I've found the next big thing. Water. ;)

I have also discontinued using CE after a particularly lazy week where I forgot to change my water for several days. The resulting mold was harder to clean out of my pieces than any amount of resin. PBW did the trick in the end but it took like 5-6 soaks with near boiling water. Now I only use CE in my bigger piece which doesnt get used as often, and it is thoroughly rinsed after each use.

Aren't you kind of missing the most important ingredient, the cranberry extract? They're not adding in artificial colors, it's coming from the cranberry extract.

This is true. If not pink, it wouldn't work.

Ok so I may have glossed over the "OTHER ingredients:" part...

Anyway, will the water/glycerine/acid combo not give you some benefits of CE without the color? What do you lose by leaving it out?

Sometimes I'll do a session or two with just water and then add some RB afterward. Gets the resin that was starting to build-up to break down.

Maybe give that a try.

RB/CE is not a cleaner, it just keeps stuff from sticking. If its not in there and the surfaces are not "wet" (which is why I do a dry pull before I take a hit) it won't work. You may be experiencing a slight emulsification the way you are using it though.

I have to use alcohol and clean the bubblers after each session that it is used for anyway....
I only use the CE because it allows me to approach the bubbler without getting ill from the "bong water" smell.
I can smell it after just one water filtered hit.
I had to get new water for each hit.
With the CE I can get 4-5 hits before I start smelling the odor.
