He also gets a little too close to The Dude's face as he leaves... :uhh:

You can see it at the end of the clip here:

What the fuck is he doing?

dude wasnt having any criticizing of his cursing, his style...so the change in direction is just the man messing with the dude, getting him to think, or at least distracted...or maybe the man saw some big titted whore that would look good with a cowboy hat. saw donny as the cool enough to hang with sober guy.

You'll notice that even The Dude is confused by The Stranger's change in direction...

My two favorite favorite lines:

Walter:
I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

Jesus:
Let me tell you something, pendejo. You pull any of your crazy shit with us, you flash a piece out on the lanes, I'll take it away from you, stick it up your ass and pull the fucking trigger 'til it goes "click."

LOVE this movie!

You know, I just watched this AGAIN last night and noticed, for the first time, when they show the Dude's home after it's been trashed by Jackie Treehorn and his "not dealin with morons here" goonsquad, the Dude's bowling ball is stuck in his TV screen.

Thought that was a nice touch.

I just watched the movie The Buttler. I loved it!! Watched it on Showtime last night. Cried like a baby. I'm getting teared up thinking about it. Forrest Whitaker was amazing. Operah was OK in it. She played the Butler's wife.

"The Stranger" is a deity/god/character of some old, traditional, or pagan belief systems. Usually signifying death, conflict, or, um, yeah, death. Major change of life circumstance. in this instance, he seems to be the roving conscience.

I thought his inclusion in the movie was brilliant. And, haven't you ever started walking the wrong way out of somewhere, and then corrected your course?

Reminds me a little of George Burns playing God...

Both Odin and Zeus turn up as "mysterious strangers" in numerous myths. One of Odin's epithets was "Grey walker" or "Grey wanderer" when he did that. though I agree that Donnie is more the conscience in this; the Stranger is more of a non-judging watcher type.

And I have the Vitruvian Dude t-shirt, and am a Little Lebowski Urban Achiever.

Walter = coolest convert Jew in movie history.

Just wanted to quote an interesting post. The process for dudeism was simple and quick. Check it out if you're looking to avoid a war, make a marriage happen, funeral, tax break, chicks love the Rev. title too.

Oh, I've definitely seen it!

Some fun interviews with some of the folks that the film's characters are based on. Also interesting to see just how seriously, in a Duder sort of way, some of us weirdos take Lebowski...

Lebowski definitely brings a strange variety of people together. Many of them... just a little bit strange, at least... :tinfoil: I guess this movie just finds a way to really tie the people together...
