Arizer Solo

I don't expect to go through a gram a day, I only vape like once a week. I'll also be taking t-breaks whenever tolerance builds

You're really not taking this seriously yet, are you?

I've no idea what the average is, I'm under a gram a day by a wide margin. What I do notice is my 'ration' was .1 ounce (say 3 grams) per week blazing, and that was part time (work and so on you know can really cut into this.....). Now I'm retired and no longer monitor consumption, but it's easily less than half that due to vaping efficiency.......and for more hours/week.

And no longer sucking up all sorts of nasty stuff you can't even pronounce the name of is worth the price of admission IMO. Smoking anything can kill you. It's not really natural to put burning vegetable matter up to your lips and suck smoke in. Kudos to the Indian that got Sir Walter to try tobacco, great salesman......bad plan, but good intentions?

Hey there everyone. New to the board.

I just ordered the Arizer Solo and was wondering about the condition you receive it in. Is the battery already charged? Any reccomendations on that? Also, when your bud is heating up how do you know when it is time to take a draw...and does the vapor leave the device after each draw

thanks for the help

Hi Floki, The Solo will need to get a full charge when you receive it. You will need to charge it until the charge light stops blinking. Then swab the mouthpiece and bowl with a bit of ISO. Do a couple of burn offs on heat level 7.

Have some good quality dry herb, start the temp low and work your way up. Some folks grind their herb, I grind mine to a little more than a cornmeal consistency. You will know what temp works best for you. Sometimes it depends on the herb as to the temp. My fav temps are level 4 and 5. Your fav might be different. Some folks like the lower temps. There is no certain way. It's each to their own likes or dislikes.

With water tools I go higher temp wise. The Solo session lasts for 12 min. You can go shorter or longer than that. You don't have to fill the mouthpiece up with herb. You can use as little or as much as you want. When you exhale you will see the clouds of vapor. I like the flavor that the Solo brings to the herb.

Hop on and welcome to the fun.

Welcome to this loka (place). This is what you do to prepare your soon-to-be Solo transactional relationship.
Buy a Da Vinci Ascent and get used to it. Begin your sessions at (F) 365 and step up as needed, 374, 383, 392, 401. These are Solo steps 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 (according to elsewhere found information).
Solo can go to 7, 410 degrees, but I think mine is cooking hotter. My Ascent at 430 is more pleasant and darkens the ABV less.

Before long, when you switch to the Solo, all will be simple and you will know that the Solo vapor stays in and the Ascent surely smells more.

Wowza. That's 28 times more than I do, and I vape just about every single night.

Well there is the difference, "just about every single night" vs every! And what to speak of your apparently skipping breakfast, brunch, lunch, coffee breaks and maybe dinner.

...

Trust me you DO NOT want to have tolerances like ataxian or myself !
Good on ya .

I am a pretty tolerant type too !!!!!!!!!!!:myday:

First off, howdy! Welcome to the forum and all the fun. Tasty choice for a first vape, been lucky all your life?

Secondly, listen to the Lady, the Lady is wise.....

Hi Floki, The Solo will need to get a full charge when you receive it. You will need to charge it until the charge light stops blinking.

As usual CK is full of useful information, including the above.

However, I disagree a small bit: The first time (only) I recommend continuing the charge after the light goes solid several hours (say 4 at least?). Overnight is better (plug it in and enjoy dreams of it waiting patiently for you in the morning). This is to ensure that both batteries in the pack get fully charged (they come in partially charged state, the best way to store and ship them).

After that you can follow the normal pattern of 'charge it until the charge light stops flashing' if you want. However, for maximum battery life I suggest as often as possible stopping the charge with the light still flashing (but the 7th LED lit). That last little bit of charging gives longer run times (sessions per charge) but at a serious expense in lifespan. Dropping the charge .2 Volts (.1 per cell, 4.1 Volts final, not 4.2)) doubles the cycle life. From say 300 recharges to 600! Dropping it .2 again (4.0 per cell rather than 4.1) doubles it again. 1200 cycles against 300. Each change costs you a bit less than one session per charge (10% decrease per change). So you're looking at say 300 X 8 sessions (1800 total) against 1200 X 6 (7200), for me and easy decision to make. Check out the info around table 4:
http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/how_to_prolong_lithium_based_batteries

As an additional data point the Military specifies the 3.92 number (the reason for the 'strange value'). They give up 1/4 of the capacity but basically never have to replace a battery in equipment once issued.......

Since nobody has answered the 'when is it ready' question I suggest starting on like step 3 or 4, heating it until the 'heat' LED goes out and trying to hit it. It should be very close. You can easily sort it out from there I think. Say 2 or so minutes after power up?

Your call, the important part is to enjoy your Solo (that was the reason you bought it, right? But IMO it's natural to bond with the Solo and want to treat as gently as possible........like any good friend.

The only reason that "it's just about every single night" is because my LSV is less efficient than my PD was. When I had my PD, I did vape every single night and my usage was the same.

Not quite sure I understand the meal stuff though.

You are amazing!
I tried to cut back and my condition got worse. (tried to copy you)
Please Know I did stop taking all medications and replace them with one natural flower.
1 gram a day is awesome perfect for me and that doesn't include shatter!
If I was a recreational user it would be easier to consume less.
Since my needs are medical I'm most likely a special case?
When I get a little crumby my wife sends me to my medication area to medicate.
I eat and feel better. I become more engaged.
Man has demonized a harmless plant?

The SOLO is a perfect daytime medical device.
For me Cannabis is an intelligent way of maintaining ones well being.
Recreation or Medical it's harmless!
Trust me you DO NOT want to have tolerances like ataxian or myself !
Good on ya .
I have gone as low as 15 grams a month however health wise I was worse!
Currently .75 to 1.0 gram per day is a good balance for me.
My target is 1.5 grams per day Flower 0.25 Gram Shatter.
Basically I'm working on increasing my tolerance.
I tried to reduce my tolerance and it back fired.
Poonman whatever it takes I guess?

Hey hey! Low dosage high five :) 0.03ish got me incredibly fucked up last night with mild hallucinations. I hope to keep my tolerance this low :)

It's doable. I've been able to keep my tolerance this low for almost a decade. Ya just gotta pay attention to it and not take in any more than you really need. For me, I've found out that if I just take two hits and then wait for about 15 minutes before taking another one, that other one sometimes never happens. Also, as soon as I get a sense that my tolerance is creeping up, I'll take a one or two day break and it falls right back down again.

I also run 20 miles a week. Don't know if that has anything to do with my low tolerance or not though.

Awesome! I took a ton of hits last night but i started low and finished them at 7, it wasnt a packed bowl, just 0.02-0.03 or so. Do you think its better to grind it with just that little amount or just stuff the bud in? Which is more efficient? To me it seems like you would get more out of it if its grounded up, but im not sure.

I start my Solo up then I pack the mouthpiece. I put the mouthpiece in the unit and wait for it to get to the desired temp. After it gets to the right temp, I wait about a minute then I take the first draw. The first couple of draws not as many vapor clouds. By the time you get to the third and fourth draws you see big visible clouds of good tasting vapor.

I usually can get 2 ten min sessions out of a full bowl. I can do one session, then come back later. Then I save the ABV for edibles.

This is a very economical vaporizer. You can buy it for a reasonable price and saves on product too.

anyone know where to get the cheapest ans newest solo.
Try Puffitup they match prices from other vendors. Their price is $160. You can get them cheaper, but if you need to send it back you may not always have an easy time of it. With Puffitup no hassle returns. You don't have to pay to send the vape back, PIU sends a barcode via email. Check out the vendors on FC 's website.

Make sure the EBay vendor is an Authorized Seller or you'll be SOL if your unit goes on the fritz. Don't ever buy a vaporizer if the vendor is not an authorized seller.

Call or email Puffitup and see if they will match that price.
