Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

My EVO is capable of combusting above 2:30. And the probability goes up slighty with the dial going up to the max.
I have to pull really REALLY slowly for a long time and the ELB need to be full and completely cooked. Then i can ignite.
I can take fast to moredare-slow hits on max with a cooked ELB and not combust. I think all these criteria must be met if you want to combust.

Thanks for everyone for their help and suggestions. I opened a support ticket immediately last night. Did a bunch of reading and experimenting. The light issue after taking a hit doesn't seem normal from my understanding, and has happend to another FC member. It has only done it once today. Last night it was every hit and the body of the EVO was stupid hot. Today it seems to be much cooler, even after being on for hours. My bamboo seems to be a real whistler. It looks good, is sealed, and is not rattling.

Now the good news.
Took a big pile of EVO ABV, put it in Herbalizer bag at 445F again, barely any visible vapor.
It is normal for the EVO not to combust at max temp
I heat soaked for am good 50 min on max, turned down to 3:00, slowed my draw down, throttled/sealed the bottom bamboo, and got a nice milky hit. Did another pack at and hit at each 12,2,4,max tempwith the same technique. Finally got a different color ABV. Got great flavor and effects.

Pretty much it seems I need to finger carb the bottom bamboo to get milk. Still haven't tried it with anything other than then Mini SideCirc.

Edit. Just got a little crazy on max temp and some finger carving. I combusted. Fuuuuuuucccck. The taste is not good lol. Time for ISO.

You should not be getting very high heat on the enclosure below the middle screws (which is where the bottom of the wristbands should be placed). There is a heat shield at that point which protects the electronics, all of which are at the bottom. If you're getting excessive heat in that area, suggests a problem.

Try adjusting your draw strength down to the point where the whistle begins. While temp is important like with all vapes, the EVO's extraction is every bit as much also about the airflow (as you're seeing already with your experiments). It not only doesn't need a strong pull, sometimes that can even be counter-productive. Relaxed hits are good.

ABV color can be deceptive. When a vape only uses heat, the only indicator you have is the color; the darker the more "cooked". The EVO's extraction can be thorough without that. Your experiment with the EVO ABV in the Herbie appears to verify as much. That said, finishing off an ELB at a very high temp can deliver additional vapor, even though barely seen.

Be sure your ELB isn't overloaded. I get best results with ~.10-.15g, which is usually 1/4-1/3 full. And my EVO likes a fluffy grind, not nugs/leaves but also not real fine.

Some HT's can also be a little deceptive when it comes to milk. The vapor can move all the way through with the draw, not accumulating, and with a somewhat small chamber, you see less density. By contrast, when I use a Mobius piece like the Ion or the large Micro Clear, the vapor in the can gets very thick.

:2c: :peace:

Thanks again for all the help any suggestions. I think the main thing was my hit speed was way to fast. Too used to the Sublimator.I am using a fluffy grind, 1/3 to 1/4 ELB, .1ish. Just moved my wristbands down even further. It is not getting hot below the 2nd set of screws

Just did an ELB at 3 finger capped. Did another one, but super slow, no finger cap and I combusted first rip. Not the best taste lol. Just cleaned my HT, 2nd time in an hour. Turned her down to 1:00. About to give it a go slow slow draw no throttling/finger capping.

It was a successful rip at just under 1:30. I may have this down now. Going try a slow rip at 12:30 and fast one at 12:30. Only 118 more pages to read in the thread. Catching up.

Thanks again folks

WOW.

So, I finally found some wax to use with my VapeXnails. My goodness. It's a game changer. Wish I got on board with that earlier.

I put a little in the VapeXnail and just got some FAT pulls (using my mini simba water tool). Super tasty, super smooth, super efficient, super effective.

I had a buddy whose a major, major oil guy over and he was extremely impressed as well. Said it was the best tasting dab he's ever done (this is a guy who has owned a couple Mothership pieces in his time).

Oh, and no big deal, but the Hydrafoot 2.0 continues to rip like a beast.

Rapidly becoming a fan of using the VXN, set to 9:30-10 and turning the Evo off as soon as the wax fully melts. Turning back on and to 3:00, to burn off any residue.

Thanks Enchantre for mentioning turning off the EVO mid hit. Seems to make the smallest amount go ever further.

Just got my Evo and this thing is so smooth. I love it. I have not had any issues with combustion even all the way to the right. I thought the hits might be a little milkier or denser?

I usually finish my ELB at max here after preheating soak at max for 10 minutes, first green hit at 11-12pm, then 1-2 hits at 2-3pm after a couple minutes soak, and then finish at max for a final draw. As I go up in the dial, I take a slower and slower, deep yogi breath.

Haven't combusted and the hits aren't super milky but it is a nice cloud, even at the end after all the draws for all the hits.

It's quite common for new users - I would hazard a guess that it's most - to go through sort of an adjustment period where they learn their EVO and refine their technique. With this vape there is new learning and even re-learning compared to using other vapes.

You might want to take a look at @Been Vapin's posts above and the replies he got. The vapor density is affected by multiple factors, and not all things are intuitively obvious. Experiment. And of course, ask questions here. :)

My OG Evolver HydraTree turned 2 years old just last week.
I love it & I know at least one other forumite loves it too.

Sorry to say I was cleaning some kale in my sink when I tipped over the HT and broke off a tree arm. I am not sad - the soldier served his time well.

2 years is the longest I've ever owned a daily-driver boro piece & it's a great testament to the build quality of Evolver Glass.

Sorry to hear your 'tree finally succumbed after 2 years of great service, SD

My Evolver 'Circ just passed the 2 year mark and still performs like its first day in service.

Absolutely love it and will never part with it...barring some similar accident done by its owner.

A classic. MY old one is actually sitting at a friend's house. waiting for a glassblower to repair it.

My OG SGW shower dome with the ice pinches has a crack from one edge to other right under the perc slits..one perc to the other. Still doesn't leak, but it does make me worry using it above the EVO. So lately I've just been using a few ice cubes in it.

Ah, thank you!

I keep testing different ideas - it is the way my brain works - and shutting it off quickly seems to work very well for me.

I did an inventory check, though, and I've only put a little under 2 grams through mine yet... I'm getting a little too medicated to experiment more!

EVO rocked me today. I was sleeping before 4:20pm. Didn't need to Vape again until 10 PM

Think I got this down.

3 ELBs of dry sift mixed with scisscor hash, 1/3 full, flavor/cloud city at 3:00 on the dial. The taste is of the EVO is just superb. A true representation of what you put load in. My mouth is coated with a waxy kushy funk like when one does a huge dab. That is some tasty extraction right there.

I'm kinda bummed out the VXL has been missing from my arsenal all these years. Time to celebrate some more!

I was thinking that too but the EVO only came out last fall, the VXN's in May and the OG Cloud had issues. I think getting one now is the best time especially with the Massdrop deal. I for one appreciate it a lot more having spent some time with the Sublimator and then torch dabbing, my wallet not so much though :p

I was using the ELB on a steady green. I am not Michael Phelps by any means.

One time it went straight red, no flashing, stayed for a few seconds then went back green.

Power code doesn't seem loose.

I just did an ELB at max temp. Didn't even come close to combusting. The bowl kicked in about 2 Rips.

Is it normal to be vaping at max temp just to get a Lil milk? Seems like its defective. :(

I apologize for posting alot. Never have used a Cloud before, and am worried my new baby is sick along with my brand new cracked hydratube its not looking good. Pray with me. More ELBs incoming.

Edit. Seems to be doing some light shit every hit now :( I researched the flashing and it does not seem normal. Just went red for about 5 seconds then flashed, then went back to green.

I have held off on this purchase for a year because I was worried with problems. Then I get hit with a double whammy. :(

Up Until this afternoon, never have used a Cloud, I became a believer in the EVO. She just needs a Lil tune up and the glassblower needs improved QC.

Is you Cloud Evo new? Give it some time to break-in and the temps will get hotter at lower temps. That is what happened with mine. Also dont hit it for at least 10 min warmup as your vape breaks in.

Do not go by the LED turning green and hitting right away. Wait for the base of the unit up top to be really hot and warmed up and than take a drag.

It is new, as of Friday afternoon, and I am having huge success now thanks to this thread. I tried the on/off toggle trick. Dont know if that has any effect. I do at least 10 min heat up on max, and can cash an ELB in 2 or 3 milky hits now. Part of it was my HT and the other was my technique. I actually prefer my Mini SideCirc dry, and ave always been a dry vapor type. Need to get the dry straight mouthpiece.

I did an ELB of hash and it milked so hard it looked like combustion, but was just a real big tasty hit. Made me sweat. Need to go to LHS to get some adapters to use my other glass.

I can see why lots of people ditched their Sublimator s in favor of the EVO. Its just that good.

Vapexhale Cloud Evo for Christmas 2013 (paid for pre-order...sweet husband saw SM on Yahoo.)

Since the beginning I have had to have it on 3. I am now trying to dial back to 2 after warned up. That is about as low as it can go. Takes a good 15 min to warm up. If I leave on and it goes red, I have to do the 10X fast on/off to get it back on. Is this all normal or am I in need of a tune up?

thanks in advance.

Howdy, been lurking on FC for some time now, but finally decided to hop into the conversation with some questions concerning the EVO. I'm pretty set on getting an evo in the near future, but idk what i want. I missed the last MassDrop sale by a little bit so im considering waiting for the next one (seeing as its less than 10 ppl from 200, but then again who knows if it'll drop so quickly after the first one.) But I don't have easy access to concentrates so the VXN seems like it'd collect dust. so im thinking about just getting the dry mouthpiece direct, so there'd be less wait and not VXN, but would the hydrotubes be worth the wait? or if i got a cheap china bubbler like the 187 (from cheap-high quality bubblers) would i be just fine? but if i got it off massdrop i get a sweet hydrotube and can still use the cheap bubbler or whatever water tool.

Sry if this seems rambely, but im just trying to figure out if massdrop would be worth the wait getting the hydrotube VXNs for the same price as a dry mouthpiece in say a quarter of the wait time.

So just buy it from VapeXhale? cause for the next few weeks/months not gonna be able to vape. is the dry mothpiece good enough if I own someother water pieces?
