Discontinued The Herbalizer

Vitolo

Vaporist
Maybe I misunderstood your post, but are you sure about that @Vitolo? As @grokit mentioned above, inserting the adapter/connector into the top of the bowl and then a simple twist "locks" the adapter and creates a sturdy connection that will not come loose unless you twist back the other way and lift. I have 1st and 2nd gen bowls and adapters and that is how both of mine work. I don't think I would be very happy with the functionality you are describing.
Perhaps it is I that misunderstood a post.
I thought someone meant that some sort of tightening or screwing was done to attach the whip to your Herbalizer bowl.
I responded when @SkrACHIN said:
...unless i remove the bowl top and FORCEFULLY insert the connector to the whip, it falls out every single time. just looking at it tells you it can't stay in place.
by saying:
The whip and connector are not supposed to stay together securely.
The connector is MEANT to loosely sit there in the bowls top... and spin freely if you pass whip.
It is meant to come out freely with a gentle upward motion... not even a "pull".
I am confused as to why one would try to force it... unless one was just in the habit of the way that an older vape functioned... and has not yet become accustomed to this simpler concept:
Sit the connector in the bowl, and do not expect a click or any snugging... you're done.
I was saying and now I demonstrate by video that there was not screwing, twisting or tightening required!

Putting togetherness bags has always been a nightmare for me so thankfully the ones that came still work!

I'm not sure if anyone has noticed this but I find one of the best ways to conserve/use the herbie is to sprinkle the screen with herbs. Just enough to cover the screen maybe a touch more.

Turn it up to 445F and your toasted for hours. Not only do I get much darker ABV this way but I get baked for HOURS!

PS: You'll get 1-3 hits but that will be all you need!

I also experimented with small loads, and found that when I dropped a couple of the oil pads on top of a small load like that^ to hold it down on the bottom screen, I would get really dark abv as well. I used an additional top screen as usual, I like it because it keeps the built-in top screen from gunking up so fast.

Is the darker ABV a result of conduction vaporization from the pads heating up?

I think it may be from radiant heat, like the pads make the chamber into a hotter oven. But it's also from holding the material down onto the screen, forcing it to be in more direct contact with the heat source.

Hey FC, I've got an inside joke to all herbie owners...*drumroll* Everyone of us knows exactly why this thread has downtime...:freak:<---this face says it best!

I've had the herbie for 8 days and I've had six to seven hours of sleep each day because I'm transitioning from a EQ to this. (I usually make sure I get 8hrs minimum) With the EQ I could take a few big hits and I could watch the vapor thin out and wisp through my glass as I continue to hit the bowl. (even with DDaves method) leaving me having to go though more herb and frequently changing bowls during a session.

So naturally I try this on the herbie. Lung busting, bowl clearing hits...all to no avail. This thing just keeps pumping out thick, high quality, smooth, heavy hitting vapor. I can't keep up! I keep falling asleep on myself sitting up. Well enough's enough!

What's that saying about insanity? The same actions over and over again expecting a different outcome? It only took me 8 days to realize that the final score is indeed...Herbie 1-0 Goat.

Have a fantastic day everyone!

I just received my Volcano solid valve and it pairs up great with the Herbalizer. Yes, you have to hold it down onto the Herbalizer bowl, but you have to do that with the Herbalizer bags anyways. Otherwise, the solid valve is perfect. No leaks whatsoever, a very well-constructed valve/mouthpiece, and custom bag lengths. I'm glad to have the bag option back in my arsenal.

How much material do you use in a typical session? I load about .3-.4g into the Herbalizer bowl and it vapes thoroughly. I just give it a single stir midway through the session. To fit that much you do have to pack it down, though. The Volcano bowl holds about .3-.5g IIRC, so you should be able to fit about the same amount. It's just a tighter fit in the Herbalizer.

So this will not work on the easy valve though, correct?

And yeah, I dunno, you're not supposed to TIGHTLY pack the herbiew bowl, for one, and the volcano bowl appears to hold 3x the amount (I do put more in than a thin layer over the grill as recommended, but I get a proportionate amount of bags from it, AND it's fun for me :p ) .

So yeah, I find myself missing the volcano bowl and how much in can fill before it needs to be cleaned out and switched up, I feel.

@SkrACHIN I agree that the bag system could be significantly better, but there's nothing wrong with the whip connection as is. It fits great. They've actually improved on it since release too, with a new connector piece that prevents the whip from sliding down and obstructing the seal.

The good news is, if they do decide to improve the bag system, they won't have to modify the unit itself. Just the valve and/or bowl. :)

Give me a bag that sits securely on the bowl by itself, one that doesn't leak any vapor when not being sipped on, and this device is very close to perfect.

i kinda get the feeling that they got the smartest guys in the world to create the greatest vaporizing device in the world based on theory, but then didn't get a heavy user (maybe one with a lot of experience with other competitors) to put it through its paces. the bag system feels like an after thought. and i just got a new whip yesterday and it's the same one as the first day release. unless i remove the bowl top and FORCEFULLY insert the connector to the whip, it falls out every single time. just looking at it tells you it can't stay in place. it can extract and vaporize better than any other device i've ever tried, but the delivery from the machine to your face is not good enough, IMO.

But you're absolutely right @LetterNeverSent, the solution is pretty simple and (hopefully) relatively inexpensive. here's wishing the early adopters and supporters get a hook up on the updates.;)

The whip kind of only loosely sitting in bothers me too, seems to pop out too easily. I would hope they would redesign a lot of the accessories so we can upgrade. Actually, while I don't imagine it would be a very profitable idea for the Herbie people, it would be great if they did come out with an improved/tweaked model (Volcano did it with a digit after all) with some of the much needed ones the current unit would need, and offer all limited edition adopters an upgrade offer ;P .

Oh, on another note, I recently tried to pop in a new top screen (sooner than I wanted...), but it really didn't squeeze in well at all (there's pieces on the side that did not wedge in and it seems pushed up more than the original one in there. Am I missing something about inserting a new screen?

It sounds like you are either a user with a high tolerance (requiring more than .25g per session), or you use with groups of people. In either case, I would purchase a second bowl from Herbalizer. That way you could have the second bowl all loaded up and ready to go so you can fill all those bags. I have a second bowl for group sessions and works great and keeps the party going without any downtime :brow:

Edit: keep in mind the bowls are a little pricy though, I think $75 IIRC.

You would be correct on both fronts (on the high tolerance, and the using in groups....although I'm trying to do that more with the Volcano now unless a friend wants to try the herbie...hasn't been as well received as the volcano though tbh.

A second bowl is a smart idea at the very least, it's actually what I did with the Volcano :p . But DAMN! 75 bucks? For another bowl? Really?

I will say, I never really was certain that the herbie would be better for me than the Volcano with dry herb, but it seemed to do concentrate so particularly well and clean, I was intrigued. That very well may be the ticket for me, only problem is I haven't been able to test that theory out because my dab hookup has run dry with no sign of changing :p . Someday though? At least the smaller bowl would no longer be a hindrance.

@spincut I don't have the easy valve currently so I can't say for sure, but I assume the Herbalizer will only pair up with the solid valve based on the easy valve's design. Regarding bowl size, have you loaded a Volcano bowl and then dumped the contents into the Herbalizer bowl? That'll be the easiest way to see the difference in volume. And the directions say to pack the bowl loosely, but, as I said, I pack mine tightly and it still works well. The only difference is a tight pack requires a stir whereas a smaller load doesn't. I've fit upwards of a half gram on a number of occasions without issue.

So this hasn't happened since the first week I had my unit and has only happened 3 or 4 times total, but this morning, I was playing around with the temperature when suddenly the unit shot straight to 445 and stayed there. I was unable to change the temperature or turn the fan on. Turning the unit off and on would result in Herbie getting stuck at the "limited edition" startup screen. Couldn't get into either operating mode or run the fan. Unplugging the unit and plugging it back in seemed to fix the issue. This isn't a huge deal but I'm wondering if it has happened to anyone else?

happened to me too man! just tested my new Herbie last night and I got the frozen screen. unplugging and plugging back in fixed it, thank flip!:brow:

The reason why Its like that is because I use my talk to text and it doesn't do it correct but and I'm trying to get this done quick just to get the info out. Why do you care about the way I write you can still read what I'm saying ? When people bash for no reason when someone is trying to help someone when I searched all over and couldn't find anything about a water attachment anywhere nowhere I was trying to help people but I guess I won't do that no more I guess I'll just keep quiet I was a new member but I'm not liking this

@nojail101, your posts are hard to read, which takes away from what could be excellent content.
It's a shame but most people will just skip reading these types of posts, because it takes extra effort compared to posts that contain things like punctuation, and separated paragraphs. I know I did.

Yeah @nojail101 I skipped right over your post. I've been a member here for a bit and I don't really post unless it's worth taking the time to write out correctly.

The reason is yes we can read the post however it will take longer for me to understand because it's not put into proper context. Which often means going back and rereading (no one wants to do this).

Now that I've read your post it's very hard to understand exactly what you are talking about. I would quote your post and throw some punctuation in there but I happen to be terrible at grammar myself!!!

From my understanding though you picked up a double inline glass piece off pipes daddy and are very happy about it? Could you post a link I'd love to check it out!!

Please don't take this as a deterrent to posting we'd love to read what you're writing. Most people don't want to spend 10 minutes of their time looking your post trying to understand it when you could've taken 10 minutes of your time to put it into context.

Just some friendly words brother take em or leave em! :)

Pretty sure it was friendly joking. Btw, you can say 'comma' or 'period' and it will insert the proper punctuation.

To be fair, that's REALLY annoying. I wish there was a better way to add punctuation and the like. But that's why I don't tend to use that feature very much personally ;P .

Fwiw, I skipped over it due to the lack of punctuation as well. Punctuation and thick skin will serve you well on the net

True.

I got my order from Herbalizer yesterday. 3 extra whips and 2 extra concentrate pads. I should be good to go for a while now. :)

The stickiness that happens to the whip that Vitolo spoke of is starting to happen to my whip now too. I really don't like it at all. I've been powdering a lot.
