Kleen extract

...frankly I was more excited with the old msds

I'm bummed at that but more so that there is no QWETISO! I could've told the story of the day when a brilliant chap named @farscaper started a new movement in extarctions....the day QWETISO was born.

Hmmmm maybe an experiment is in order professor @farscaper?

In all seriousness though, I'm thinking of possibly getting some Kleen and 99iso from Grainger, then add a small amount of iso to the Kleen...I just don't know how much...is this experiment worth trying?

I'm thinking that with that combo, you'll get a tiny bit of the aggressiveness of iso mixed with the more mellow Kleen and the the reported quick drying, maybe this could be a great combo. And, if the iso can act as an azeotrope and possible shield against the rapid water absorption, might be a winning formula?

this will interest you. replace benzene with isopropyl in the first example.

actually this is a good read for anyone curious how you get to 200proof 100%

Well this stuff seems interesting. I've never done any QWET runs before, then again I've barely done bho runs lol. But I just ordered a gallon and would like to try this method. If anyone has any info, tips, secrets!!!, or anything please let me know thanks guys.

Well, as @2clicker mentioned, got to skunkpharmresearch and use their QWET method as a guide/starting point. I would also peruse the QWET thread and google is your friend as well. I think we are all at somewhat of a new starting point with this product, even though it is 100% ethanol, but maybe their is something "special" about their brew that makes extractions, especially evaporating the solvent, easy peasy.

Great Scott!
Hexane is good for extracting, but it is something you'd want lab grade precision when it comes to purging.

Personally I'd just rather avoid it.

You jest @StickyShisha, but it is used in the manufacture of explosives and methamphetamine.

Edit: I take responsibility for derailing the KE thread.

I've been away all day with work and have to continue, but thank you for this and I will read this at my first opportunity tonight and give my thoughts.

Just a heads up for everybody, I will be changing my username soon as I have come to realize that the current one may not be a good one to have as it kinda pinpoints the general vicinity I live in...oh well.

So I've been doing some research and according to everything I read here Diethyl ether could be the best option?

http://www.sigmaaldrich.com/catalog/product/sial/673811?lang=en&region=CA
agreed... but if your aquiering pure ether.... "nothing is more desperate and deranged than a man in the depths if an ether binge! I knew we would get into that vile stuff soon enough..."

and we are really right back to how would it really be better than butane if it contained a small amount of ether?

I guess I can get Ether here but not Pure Ethanol? Nothing above 151 where I live... Seems a little backwards. But who says the drug laws need reforming?

I did not adhere to the 10 sec. mark with my rinse. More like a very well shaken 25-30 seconds.
After a room temp evap that took 2 days, I warmed the remains over the stovetop, not enough to melt anything, just wanted to align the molecules as it were. So now I have this beautiful reddish amber indica
extract. A HUGE thanks to Kleen!!!! I have no trace of green.....Using cured instead of fresh frozen does the trick as well. Next its on to medical grade freezers (-20) to investigate freeze curing and winterizing at real cold temps.

The Kleenx will grab moisture from the air with greedy abandon, that's part of the game.

I wouldnt give the solvent al the credit there...

if you are compairing a cured wash with typically fresh frozen material... that is most likely why your wash would be green.

I always dry completely at least... if not a short 2 -4 week cure.
