Anyone have a link for ti grade 2 wire for kiss rebuilds?

KISS Globe uses NiCr wrap. Flavor is slightly less than a Ti kiss but the new wick more than makes up for it.

I'm going on the record as saying the white KISS wicks suck MAJOR D compared to the new black wicks in the globes.

Hope these are the wicks that will be used in the official kiss rebuild kits when they come out. I believe a certain sleepy Californian used these when he was making unofficial rebuild kits. Anyone have a link for these?

Forgive me if i missed earlier... does anyone have some pics of 74x kit they can post real quick? Ive had almost 0 issues with the reg 74... what did the kit solve for you? The only real issue i had was the damn self adjuster pin... nullified that by making sure the rod collapsed the spring completely. Its been over a month since ive done that and no issue with oil screwing with the connection.

Hey guys I have a question about the 74x.

With the new top cap is there supposed to be an oring around it to help it seal? My new top cap doesn't have one and hence doesn't seal. Meaning if I turn it upside down the top cap just falls off.

Thanks for the info! Love the Persei as always.

I'm very curious as to what kinds of cases those of you with Nibbler XL's are using. Tryna get one soon, but if I do I'll need a case that'll hold a NXL, Herc, Bender, 2 Percy heads, an og Percy body, a ss kit, 4 battery cases, & maybe a core. Pics would be appreciated.

74x works for me all the time.
74 worked on and off.

Rod placement is key. Is the entire white band (between the two electrode strips) visible?
yes the white band is visible. Appreciate the pointers everyone. I believe I need to push the rod more in the chamber. @elmoe420 the top cap comes with no O ring. Does not need one. The cap seals by itself. Once it gets some oil on the cap it will stick closed. @bdmonkeyj3w the reason I updated to a SR74x is because of the convenience of having a none threaded top cap. With the regular SR74 the threads get wax gunk on them. Making the removal of the top cap a little more work to break loose. Usually I busted out a lighter for this and hit the chamber with heat to allow easy top cap removal. The SR74x updated is intended to make rod placement even easier to those new to the UP TECH Hercules SR series. Along with the convenience of having a thread less top cap.

How far off a drop (If any) do you think it could take? Trying to be as cautious as possible when I travel with something that I'd strongly consider killing someone over :D:D:D

Hello @masaki! The case looks great! Is that a hand gun case you modified? If not where did you get it?
I am looking for a larger case than I have. I picked up a diabetic case from Walmart for $9, it does the trick for the most part, but I need more room as I have everything you have I need to carry.
As well as your old hammer top I believe!:)
Looks great!

Pelican case is probably the best option protection wise. I'd like to say it can take anything you can throw at it. Don't take my word for it and start kicking field goals with it and whaling it above your head throwing it like a shot put. But these things are made to carry thousands of dollars worth of equipment, like professional cameras, hand guns, and expensive watches. You won't be disappointed.

There's cheaper options as well that are nice. But if your paranoid type I would strictly buy pelican.

^^my opinion is the previous owner did too mAny "dry burns". It will always taste like crap once the cart is dry burned too much without no wax/oil on the wick. My suggestion is buy a new cartridge and start fresh. Can't trust too many people on operating a 7.4 v kiss. They are very powerful. Another possibility is mAybe too much plant matter in the wax and the kiss cart is combusting. Hard to tell with your pic. Have a better picture?

@AgentofChaos that cart needs a thorough cleaning

disassemble it fully, and give the little parts a warm isobath. Use a needle nose pliers and a lighter to torch the wick clean.

See @DieHard's signature for a disassembly/reassembly tutorial

kISS carts are easy to rebuild. The wire, wick and insulators are available from KidneyPuncher.com. (Until there is a kit from W9 Tech.). For a crazy powerful HOT KISS at 7.4v, use 32g NiChrome wire wrapped around a 1/8" wick 5 times. Check my sig for help.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks for all the feedback. Ended up ordering a new GR2 7.4v cartridge and a AW IMR 18650 1600mAH battery for the 3.7v. Currently my worry is that the unit will not work on either cartridge I currently have. I charged them, the blue button works fine, but neither cartridge gets hot. I'm hoping brand new ones will solve the problem.

My angry wife once threw my Persei, with SR71 attached, down a flight of stairs once. Not a scratch. Pelican case is a little overkill for one.

More worried about traveling with the glass than the actual Persei. I've been using a case for Beats by Dre solo headphones (cheap, zippered neoprene pouch) for like 3 years & would probably never need anything more than that if it weren't for the glass & my need for consolidation. Persei > (insert tough, rugged item)

are the Kiss carts the same as the ones on the dabbler? I ask bc i had a dabbler and found i had to reload after just 2-3 puffs,

im looking for something that is more fill and go,

the herc 7.4 on your website seems to be the one, but to be honest, all the problems and hiccups i read about on here have me a bit intimidated, simply bc i dont have the patience/time to sit and fiddle with trying to get something to work. I want to just load and go. Your products look quality and thats why i am here asking if you have something, or can recommend something, that is load and go for more than a couple hits. Yet isnt something i need to be a engineer to feel comfortable owning.

It would be cool if the kiss carts were deeper and had a lower sitting ceramic rod and coils ect. It could act more like a reservoir, tank, ect.

Im a amatuer to the ecig scene so please excuse my newbie questions

I've had my SR74 for months, and after tons of use I have no complaints. I can't compare it to the SR71, but I love my hercules! Changing to a 3.7 rod is fast and easy too. Its a beast. You will be satisfied with everything about it IMO.

I am honestly still getting used to the herc ! -- but I can see it being my goto anytime I'm @ home …………
I would say I would take with me but A) my state is not so KIND yet ????? B) I honestly feel so far that it is best used with the CORE --

BUT actually I feel everything works better with the CORE -- it is so useful ! I had my battery in the SS shorty playing with some of my other toys --- especially at 3.7 --- it was perfect for a bit -- on tha run ….
after a few test sessions I found the battery was just not enough --
it would have been great on the run -- but when I hooked the toys up to the CORE and suddenly was able to go up to 4.1 , 4.6 , hey 5.0 !!!!! I found my SEEGO glacier with ceramic md72 was making clouds like crazy at 4.9 v !!!!! It was super !
Just as I find with the Kiss cart -- (i won't risk taking that up to 4.9v ) but its nice finding sweet spots ! (the core allows this ! )

Yet when all the chips fall - I can have fun all I want !

The Herc 74 is the true tool for taste / power / and everything else we all are searching for ! Yes it needs power …. I don't feel it eats too much oil yet ? ---- once its primed n filled Im amazed at how long it can last ! I guess the only thing I'm not sure about is the 3.7 rod ?? I cannot imagine it working as well ? but sounds great ! the 7.4 --- wow !

been having super gr8 luck with hard crumble inside that machine !

Not sure I understand, the Hercules core is stainless steel. The outer cladding needs to be a thermoinsulator lest we burn our hands.
