Aromed 4.0

IceColdATLien

PV has 10ft for like 10$
Yeah, I saw that, but I still have to select from these options for the bulk tubing. This has been my problem all along. I can find top notch platinum, medical grade tubing everywhere... I just don't know what size to get.

Does anybody know which of the following options is the correct size tubing for the Aromed 4.0?

  • 1/8"IDx1/4"OD
  • 3/16"IDx5/16"OD (+$0.19)
  • 1/4"IDx3/8"OD (+$0.39)
  • 5/16"IDx7/16"OD (+$0.49)
  • 3/8"IDx1/2"OD (+$0.59)
  • 1/2"IDx5/8"OD (+$0.79)

I found the size to be 5/16id x 3/8od and I got 50 foot roll for 40 bucks platinum cured silicone tubing. so your price is cheaper. Where you finding it? Good luck.

Where do you get yours from? I haven't found a place with that good of a deal. That's the kind of information I'm on these boards to find, so it would be greatly appreciated!!!

IceColdATLien,
Hey, I got my AroMed the other day, and while I wouldn't call it the best vaporizing experience I've ever had (i'll get to that in a minute), I would call it the most advanced.

The vapor quality is unmatched, out of the usage i've gotten from it it is extremely efficient, the vapor tastes like air, and it packs a punch.

However the setup is quite cumbersome, getting the question mark shape in the crane piece was a process to figure out as well, and last but not least, the glass heating chamber has gone and got itself stuck right into the water filtration chamber... admittedly I didn't lubricate the pieces before that particular usage, and I may have put a bit too much water into the piece? (this may be me giving the glass piece the benefit of the doubt however). When i say stuck, I mean STUCK... here's the list of things I've tried...

- Vegetable Oil around the connection + 30 min hot water soak
- bathe in vegetable Oil for 10 minutes + 30 min hot water soak
- fill the top piece with ice and submerge the bottom in water that is just before boiling (hoping the top would contract and bottom would expand, the water was so hot i had to try yank with oven mitts)
- Currently I have the unit set up as if it is being used, except without anything in it (water, botanical, nothing) and have the bulb set to the highest itll go (235 celsius)... hoping that at that extreme temperature the glass will expand enough to lift out? lifting with oven mitts on but nothing...

Has anyone had this problem/found a fix? I sent the manufacturer an e-mail regarding the situation and am waiting to hear back but I feel like it happened so easily that someone must have run into the same situation and found a fix, any help would be appreciated!

You can try a gentle tap on the joint with a butter knife in a circulate motion, and then twist the glass as you pull upwards.

The aromed makers recommended that i use silicone joint grease but I wasnt sure if i wanted to deal with the odor, at least from some that smelled before. If you email them again ask them which silicone grease is best to use with low odor.

Actually managed to get it solved shortly after posting! Leaving it for a longer exposure at maximum temperature (235 celsius) around 10 minutes and then pulling while twisting with oven mitts on did the trick! Back to enjoying the things monster vapour quality :)

I bought one about one month ago. I'm happy with it since you get stoned easily with little weed but you can add more if you want thicker vapor.

At the beginning I thought I wasn't using it properly, since I found the vapor thin (but very tasty) at 180º. Even if you don't breathe vapor as if you were smoking a joing or using a harmful vaporizer, you're getting high by small vapor particles. At 190º is harder edged and at 200º you have plenty of thick vapor that sends you to the moon.
Superb flavour and very smooth for throat, esophagus, lungs and stomach. I'm glad I started vaping.

The spare parts are quite fragile and the botanicals chamber was broken twice only trying to fit them in the heating element. Now I'm very careful about it.
But I have to say that I have bought three more botanical chambers and two water filters to have always a clean one everyday. (I have also two silicon tubes and mouthpieces, I think that is very important to have a very clean vap if you want to keep your lungs healthy).

I'd like to ask you a question. When to change the weed? I change it when it becomes brown, but most of the times is still tasty at this point...

And I would like to know it I'm doing it right: I take longer shots at lower temperatures and shorter ant higher. Is it ok this way?

sounds like you are a pro. The aromed never burns unless you max the temp out and really hit it. I find you can adjust temp and do about anything with aromed and it just keeps working. I use it on carpet to prevent falling pieces breaking and I do alcohol clean pretty often. Just keep playing with it and you will find your limits or excesses. I never tasted popcorn flavor with aromed and I have taken 30 draws off a load. Over 30 minutes while listening to music.

My favorite for flavor in any vape I have tried.

Kittyboy, that's the thing, I'm using a load that I used before going to sleep right now and I've listened to two more albums enjoying a fresh herbal vapor. So, a load of weed and three albums (Starless and Black Bible, Summerhill and Stone Harbour, lol).
Thank you, fella.

Do you stir the weed when you have given several hits? I did it at the beginning, but the unit seems so precise that heats all the matter at the same time, so I'm not sure what to do...

I do stir several times to make sure it stays even. And I save the remains and make the best medibles around.....really makes it last !!!!

I have only once seen any vapor (it was thin) using the Aromed and can't replicate it. I tried temps Aromed suggested--quite high, as much as 415 F--and everything from 380 on up, slow draw, fast draw, different top-shelfs, checking for "click." I get some effect, but use a lot of product to do so. The bulb gets very hot, brighter as I draw. Suggestions welcome.

Are you inhaling to where the blinking dot is blinking on the temperature screen?

Did you grind up your herb?

If you did both, and it still doesn't work, email aromed makers directly.

Yes to both. I've exchanged a few emails with Aromed. They advised to try 420F, adjust inhaling...the obvious things. I did them all and never saw vapor or felt much. Today, I tried the same bud with the Extreme Q at 392 F and got thick vapor. The Aromed is simple, I can't think what could go wrong, as long as the light gets bright and hot. I hope the seller will exchange it.

I'm vaping some AVB with very satisfactory results... You won't always see vapor, my friend, you notice it in your tongue... and in your brain. At the beginning, I missed the feeling of the combustion. Then I used to think that I was stoned, but in fact, I was poisoned by the combustion of tobacco. With Aromed I get the feeling I get. I reckon that I was upset by the thin vapor, but I love the effect and the flavour.

I agree with Phineas it is a different high feeling etc. And certain strains work better at lower temps. Needs to be fairly dry to begin with. But maybe you are drawing to fast or hard. You want very slow draw. I turn temp up as I work my way through a bowl. Also I find using less is more in aromed. Hope it works better for you.

Almost there...
Just popped in to give the Aromed 4.0 some love!
Dusted her off and we are good friends again!!

As you say the high is very different!
It reminds me of when i used to smoke decades ago.
Kind of numb, tingly, spacy feeling.
Very pleasantly medicated off a thin screen covering and a stir!

I used to go up in temps but now it is used cranked to MAX permanently.
My herb is kept at 62% RH so it ha a fair bit of moisture in it.
The first few draws after temp has been reached are pure flavor and no vapor.
Then it starts with whispy clouds and depending on strain will either keep giving hit after hit of small clouds or a few lung busting bad boys!

Can't wait to hit her again soon!

Mine does take a while to heat up correctly and if i am impatient the results are very poor.
No vapor, maybe a little taste but that is it.

What i do now is:
-Grind my material, medium grind
-Cover screen with one layer of material
-Insert light/heater and ensure it seals with the top of the herb chamber (very important)
-Turn unit on and set to desired temp (i go to max baby!)
-Wait and watch the blinking light
-When it stays solid i give it a little bit longer and then slowly inhale
-You should be able to see the vapor forming in the tube just below the herb
Keep going until satisfied!

The most important part is letting the unit heat up sufficiently, remember there is no large heat sink here so a nice consistent draw is key.

I have never been able to reproduce the clouds i get off my other vapes with the Aromed
But...
The effect of the Aromed is sublime for me. It is the perfect after a hard days work buzz!

pretty sure i'm going to be selling my volcano in favour of an aromed. the particles that the volcano are putting into the back of my throat are killing me, and i'm pretty sure i'll never get around that with a forced air setup. plus, the almost complete lack of a flavour profile is kind of sad(compared to arizer solo)

the almost complete lack of a flavour profile is kind of sad
And yet you can find plenty of opinions that the Volcano has the best taste you can get with a vape. Personally, I attribute that to a lack of experience with other models and/or the old 'rationalize your expensive purchase to justify the money you spent'. Since any bagged vapor has to be less fresh than what you get with direct draw, I tend to agree with the lack of flavor opinion.

I saw a comparison the other day (blog or dealer site-can't remember) between the Extreme and the Aromed, with the  to the Extreme. Having used both models, that really made me :hmm:. Aside from versatility, I can't give the E any category wins, and the poor vapor/air ratio (unless you use the messy method of loading the elbow screen) of the E makes it unacceptable to me. The Aromed may be a little long in the tooth, and not very exciting anymore vs. newer, flashier models, but it's a time tested design offering top shelf performance and reliability.

I just bought an used Aromed 4.0. Visually it is in a very good condition.
Because I'm curious and own a precision digital thermometer with K type detector I measured.

For that purpose I inserte the detector cable through a tiny hole in the tube, going through the water bottle and up to the holder. I positioned the end of the detector on the same height as the screen in the herb holder.

Than I set the temperatur on the aromed to 190°C.

After 4 minutes I inhaled some longt strokes. My thermometer shows a maximum of 105°C.

The thermometer is a "Voltcraft K204 Datalogger".

Is that an indication that the aromed is damaged?

Did any of you measured in a similar way?

Is my expectation/ my measurement wrong?

Thanks for your advice (sorry for my poor English).
