Took the quiz again, after spending a significant amount of time this weekend delving a bit deeper into my childhood, family issues, school issues - I attended 17 different schools from k through 10th grade -, and my first marriage...

First off, okay, I'm one of the Elite, less than 1% of the population. woo hoo. my serious take-away on this is, all these years, I wasn't wrong, THEY weren't wrong, we just did NOT see the world the same way, or think the same way, or communicate the same way!

When I'm talking to someone, and they aren't getting it, it isn't because they are dense, it's because it's a language barrier! Now, I can seriously see that I need to change my way of saying things, when I get more than one "huh?"

Hi @Enchantre , back now and have looked over your 4 quiz results. Besides what seems to be pretty common amongst us, difficulty getting into our inner circle but once there relationships/bonds are strong, I see commonality in your charts leading me to a question. Are you an artist or would you be an artist? And to that end, do you have difficulty putting to paper what you may see in your mind?

To summarize, I see an artist who has difficulty delivering their "art"....

Besides this, I completely concur with your findings on communications with others. It is a language barrier in the translation of the received message by another. I can give you a tip on what I've done to overcome it (though those on FC may argue this due to the length of my usual posts).... Go into the conversation as if reading main bullet points off a chart. Let the NT's ask questions and try to focus on answering those questions and provide nothing further unless more questions are raised. Even NT's have different ways of communicating/understanding, so I find allowing them to "lead" the conversations usually gets successful delivery of the message I wish them to receive. Really takes getting used to, as I do tend to be quite verbose, should the opportunity present itself... ;)

You've nailed me. yes, I am very artistic, and in fact, my entire maternal family side are artists (and eccentrics...) with relationship issues. Serious ones. And... my art is stuck in me.

I have learned to just entertain myself with my art, within my inner landscape.

And, as far as your advice for communicating with NTs, ... well, you've described my daily life at work! I've been in customer service for a few years now, and I've developed just that technique, in the interest of call control. I've also learned that after the second "what?" I just shift "language" and change my method.

I am an explainer. I will explain until someone drops dead of boredom. Hell, I'm THE explainer. :myday:

Thank you, DDave, for looking at that. This has been an amazing step for me.. more "adventures in therapy"!!

@Enchantre , Awesome! Thanks for verifying!
I very much can identify with "Art being stuck inside"... I have yet to find an outlet to let mine flow. I can't draw or paint, so for now, will have to leave it by saying... "I have such sights to show you"... Maybe with words, one day when time permits, I'll paint pictures of epic proportion on the canvas of the reader's mind. Who knows!

I've also experimented with conversational techniques in order to better communicate with those who would otherwise be completely overwhelmed by the volumes I can put out verbally, or become bored with my level of detail... I still slip up now and then, but much less than I used to.

Please remember, my door's always open.... It may have a busy sign hanging on the doorknob, but it will never be closed. Feel free to reach out to me if you wish to chat... either here or PM is good...

so today I was in a lot less pain... I have an abscess on my jaw and have been combating it with garlic... I digress... I got my oil on last night and good sleep after several nights of sleeplessness... woke up a d got my oil on again so I have a head full of cannabis and todays results show a very interesting change.

Your neurodiverse (Aspie) score: 120 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 88 of 200
You seem to have both neurodiverse and neurotypical traits

soooooo... cannabis helps me be more like "adjusted"

if faced with the knoledge that cannabis helps you... and you had a child who was autistic....

really makes current politics even more infuriating.
@farscaper,
Sorry to ask... I need one more chart please? Your results are so different, I'm torn on the read.

I do agree that if your first chart (shaped like letter D) was an accurate representation of your state of being at that time being non-medicated, and the one quoted being medicated... that MMJ definitely would help you "identify" with the rest of the NT world.

Can you share your sleep status for a period of 2 days before each chart up to the time you took each quiz? Exhaustion will skew the results, so is important to stabilize some parameters before making a comparison.

Also, would you be willing to share the strain or concentrate you used before the quoted chart? There is an intensity level to the first, not present in the second, that intrigues me!

Looking forward to seeing your next chart!

typically no more than 4 or 5 hours per night... tossing and turning trying to go back to sleep...

I hate when you get nice and medicated enough to be really sleepy... then you lay down and... wide awake... personal fav right there.
I'm going to assume it's thoughts that will not leave, playing at high speed, that won't let you sleep? Or if you're stressing, may be full blown conversations, played out in every variation possible, as your mind tries to come to a desired solution on something?

That's a guess, correct me if I'm wrong.

Not arguing... elaborate please.

To me, those conversations are just as real as if I'd had them with you... And regardless of outcome of one, they just keep going... especially if stressed....

the strain part is hard for me to work out... well... rather im working it out...

highly indica strains like white widow seem to make me a little to lethargic. its a chore to get up and go.

highly sativa strains typically give me sorta manic depressive effects... almost elated followed by hard core come down.

I find sativas great if I need to think. hard and introspectivly. the almost psychedelic effects are most mentally liberating for me... im a right chipper chap on a sativa... and a cool chillax dude with indicas.

the best "attitude adjustment" strain I have ever had personally was Kandy Kush. it is a 60/40 indica sativa. copious resin for extraction and I could not have felt more comfortable inside my own skin than with that.

situation dictates I proceed with caution while explaining this..... but It took some time and a fly across a pond to get to the have to wait 3 months part of that endeavor. non legal state what a curse.

Thanks, trying to put together a picture.

You posted two charts. I know you said one was medicated. Was that indica or sativa?

Next, can you medicate using the opposite strain and retake the quiz?

That would be some awesome data to work with!!

mostly white widow all day. and good riddance! there was some lemon kush which is high sativa... but not enough to counter balance the indica effects. coupled with a ruff psychological day. here you go.

I shut off the brain with oil... heavy indica. sometimes a hybrid works, too... today, I'm not sure what I've hit, as I have some reclaim I'm testing out, plus my "junk tub" of dibs and dabs... but couch lock is a factor, so it's working!

Exodux Cheese is my daytime concentrate in my pen. it calms it a bit... just enough. I'm functional, and I can focus on just one (okay, but only about a half dozen) thing. UW in flower form, at a pretty low temp keeps me awake, but quieter in my head. Higher temps.. couchlock.

I sometimes hate having the noise off... I feel a little lonely, a little bit like I've lost my analytical edge, but I also love not feeling like I'm always on high alert. I'm afraid that I'm no longer "me"... but then, when I do let it all wear off.... the noise sets in, and I'm a little disorientated, trying to pick out what mental thread I'm supposed to hold onto. verbal speed starts kicking in, and I'm blurting out encyclopaedic reams of information instead of single sentence (short phrase!) answers.

My childhood sucked, big time. my step-dads all hated me. could not understand me at all. go figure. I was a "book-worm"... a "walking encyclopaedia", I spent all my recess time in the classroom, reading (yes, I did read the encyclopaedia, as a matter of fact), and I was always the "know-it-all". Okay, not my fault that I actually did.

I can draw, a little. I wrote (lousy) poetry from when I first learned to print (age 5) - I have my first written poem - I have the 'photographer's eye', or did until my vision got old and I cannot focus well enough. My medium is words. and cooking. I can COOK! I can take almost nothing and feed a crowd, and make most of them happy while I do it!

The incredible novels in my head, however, I cannot find the words when I try to get them out.

my mother painted. my sisters, both very crafty. my brother was a musician and could also draw.. my other brother is a mechanic, and can fix anything.

I have thought of other ways that we, those of us who are Diverse, are elite... so many of us can see so well, in our inner landscape, that we are the creators of Magickl!! We dream up the things that do not yet exist, we create connections that never existed before... we are intuitive, and can often know things others never notice or cannot see. Wise elders, spirit talkers, walkers between the worlds, the priests and priestesses of mystery religions... and, of course now, we are logicians, mathematicians, programmers, healers, and artists....

Connections are my strong point. I see them. Often, almost tangibly.

I almost feel, now, that I have an evolutionary advantage.... ;)

I am suspecting myself of asperger's, possibly with some mild comorbid ADHD/OCD/tics...
A socially-awkward artistic mathematical programmer fascinated with complex functional systems like:
physics, math, universe, dimensions, geometry, computer HW and SW, life, brains, etc...

If aspie, it's probably a high-functioning form that doesn't need any diagnosis or treatment.
I've tried multiple IQ tests giving me very various results - because IQ tests really don't know WHAT to measure and don't measure well IQs above 110.
I've been getting higher results typically from these tests that were most purely about logic/math/patterns/associations and lower results from these more extensive ones.
The results were in a broad 120-170 range, I think it could actually be somewhere between 120 and 140.
I've taken both of these aspie tests before, getting similar results as today. Hovewer I can't find it, so I did them again.
I don't think weed could have any impact on these results. I am sure I would answer the same way high or not.
I've been answering in a way "how my average me would answer", not how I felt at the moment.
Results? As expected...

I've figured it out, my peeps. We are super-humans. We have super powers!

Depending where on the spectrum one is, and what one's core super power is, that gives YOU that super power!

Think Charlie Epps, think Einstein!, think any computer geek, artist, or poet you know...

Anyway, whatever it is, it's your super power. I was even suddenly aware that, for those on the further shore of the spectrum, those who seem to only have love to offer... um, isn't THAT the best super power of all? So, anyway, the super power will balance you (me) out... the more borderline, maybe the less "super" the power... like, wow, you are really smart vs. wow, you just described string theory.

...and I think it makes me way better at meditation. is it possible that saints & buddha & yogis might all be a bit non-typical?

we might be just exactly what the world needs to survive.

[*yes. "sweet wreck". vxn.]

Hey Seek,

I sensed we were kindred spirits! I could devastate this thread if I go into your analysis, as it would be very very close to my own. And who else is more of an expert on me, than me? So that would trigger my Maximum Verbosity setting and the result would be pages and pages.

I will ask, however, have you always been a hands-on, mechanically inclined person? When I was 5, my mother's electric can opener failed. I asked Dad if I could take a shot at fixing it. He agreed. Off to the garage I went. About 30 minutes later, returned the can opener to mom and she used it for another few years before the motor itself actually died. Since then, I've been fixing anything broken I could get my hands on. Well, most things anyway.

Also made modding Vaporizers pretty easy, to see where they lacked and figure out what was needed to make them perform.

Looking forward to hearing back on this and definitely happy to continue more detailed discussions either in this thread or via PM.

Hi scarlettohaira,

Very interesting chart! Your social anxiety may be due to the way you view the world... Seems from both an Aspie and NT perspective, but your skills seem more towards the Aspie.

Are you able to more easily pick out things sought for at work, than your coworkers do? If given a list of items, with scattered elements matching search criteria, would you find them quicker then your colleagues?

If most of the above is true, I would bet you could do away with most of your social anxiety by training yourself to see the world differently. I had to do this. Up until a few years ago, I had no idea anyone had feelings other than myself. Not quite that bad, but I did quite a bit of self-training to be where I'm at today... understanding quite a bit more about those around me and how they view things.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Hey Magic9,
Another interesting chart!

You seem to have NT attachments towards others, but only after making an Aspie connection to them. What does this mean? Maybe something about their mannerisms, or how they choose to communicate, identifies with your Aspie side. For me, I'm drawn mostly to empathetic people first. They do behave differently, almost as if by intuition rather than experience, but I've tried to explain this to NTs and they just don't seem to understand.

Seems that after making contact and forming some type of social connection that meets your Aspie-related requirements, that your comfort level would almost allow you to have what others would view as a normal relationship with that person.

Like scarlettohaira, your perception seems to go either way, Aspie or NT. Talent slightly more Aspie, so would assume you would first instinctively view something, then possibly associate with past experience to identify or process.

Look forward to feedback on this!

Welcome back, @DDave !

and we STILL don't have a hugging emoticon.

Working through this has triggered my earlier search for Truth, Self, and Whatever... so, I've signed up for a Vipassana meditation retreat in October. I've been before (a few times...) but not since 2010. I recall that it gave me amazing "balance" and resiliency in otherwise dodgy situations. High time I go again!
