Yo guys - please help me with my lotus. I am unable to achieve proper vaporization, i'm a little low on butane for the night so i want to get the last to work the best.

i think i felt some of the first two bowls i packed, they turned light brown but not very dark.

both times i left the center of the flame right in the middle and counted to 4, then started inhaling just as i would on a solo stem, felt a little but barely exhaled anything. then i re-packed and did the same thing, but pulled a little slower but with more force and nothing. i can definitely taste the heat but not much vapor.

basically someone who can tell me how i should use this after coming from a solo, i would really like to get a huge proper rip before my torch runs dry :)

apparently no stores around here sell the disposable butane blue flame lighters?

darn t38 keeps sputtering makes me so nervous! i have a blazer torch to show up tomorrow. hopefully be a little more consistent.

I'm new to the Lotus but had zero problems getting vapor. In fact too much if not careful.
Guessing you need more heat. You may be trying to preserve butane which won't help.
Have to hit those magic temps or you get zip.

All these torch lighters seem to work great until you point them down to use with the lotus,
then they take a fucking swan dive into sputtertown!
My t-38 seems to go down a bit, then into turbo mode and back and forth a few times during my (long) hit. For now it seems to work well for me that way, I just need to make the abv brown evenly every time.

I went out to the store and got a can of butane. I am having a great time!

The top of mine is a little charred now and I heard a couple tiny pops. The top seems to have settled down a little bit. I am worried I overheated and damaged it?

I need to refill my lighter and try again. I am getting my bowls a nice even light brown but no farther than that. I am getting like one huge hit per bowl!

But I really want to try it through glass soon...

PS i fixed my ligher issue. Remembered seeing in te other thread to crank the T38 past the + sign and it worked fine until i drained it again.

I think that crud you see there is from impurities and finger print oils. Avoid touching is a good idea. I found it cleans off with Q-tip and ISO. I treat it as I would the inner part of an exposed speaker. Very thin stuff.
I too hear some clicks and such. I think that is normal?

Not as many rips as I'm use to with the Solo but they sure pack a punch. I found I can calm them down with practice and get 6 or so but forfeit the huge mothers. Sooooo, yeah 4 hits per bowl at night...:freak::zzz:

I'm still getting my technique down, got my first accidental combustion, but I have dont about 7 or 8 successful bowls out of it. I only get like two good rips per bowl, but they're pretty big, and I turn the whole bowl light-medium brown after said rips.

I'm doing pretty well though. It hits hard! Can't wait to figure how to get it to dark brown, maybe coax a couple more rips out of it. How are you guys getting those last few hits out?

Also, about temperature, when my flame is on high then hitting it with the outside flame gets it glowing red instantly, Lower flame settings make it take about 3-4 seconds to start glowing. i should be doing the lower flame, yeah?

Using a flame length of 5/8" (lotus petal tip to petal tip), preheat the plate for 5 or 6 seconds if you're stuck on the light brown AVB. That should do the trick.

Glad to hear you're getting the hang of it. Two rips per bowl sounds about right - try loading less herb into the bowl and watch what happens. Trust me, less herb yields better results with this vape. I typically cache a load in 3 draws - the first two are nice, the third is whispy but effective.

I typically like my torch longer than most people on this thread, but I still let it pre-heat for 2-3 seconds with the inner flame kissing the plate (you can hear a higher pitched sound when the inner flame hits the plate). After that 2-3 second high heat, I pull the flame back so only the tip of the 'shadow flame' hits the bowl and start drawing, I watch the vapor since I use a bubbler and adjust the heat accordingly.

I love the learning curve of the lotus - such a rewarding experience to choose what kind of session you have.

Sometimes when I'm on the patio with my wife, I like to take a long session while she smokes a cigarette. So I keep my heat low, and get 5-6 hits off one medium sized load. (More flavorful, smaller clouds). But on my lunchbreak, I like to pack a small load and clear it in one draw.

Yeah I'm having a great time with it. I need to clean the top because I seem to have scorched it a bit. Hopefully most of it comes off but I somehow probably managed to leave a mark on it.

I notice it definitely favors one half of the bowl though. If I pack it abut halfway full I can get 2 perfect rips.

Lotus or vapor genie??? I think ima just go with the lotus because it seems so raved about. I just wanna know if the hit is bigger/better the the genie? I'm gonna get the cap only for 70 but if it isn't much better I'll just get a hand carved genie.

Dude, you can't compare. the VG is child's play compared to the Lotus. That's like asking which is better- a Ford Mustang or a Bugatti Veyron.

- Edit, hits are huge and fast. Note the $70 cap will not work without either the aluminum stem or the WPA - I suggest you get a kit with a torch included - the WPA kit is only $99

I had to get rid of a few vaporizers that were taking up space.
The LOTUS replaced many devices!
The vaporizer's I kept are for flavor and convenience however the LOTUS is my sleeping aid. (works well in my case)

The vapor genie?
Whats that?

I have trouble sleeping and I was trying so many strains in order to find a solution to my problem.
The last couple of nights I used the LOTUS before bed and POW! 8 hours sleep. Girl Scout Cookies even and their my day time favorite. Last night the MENDOCINO PURPS in a LOTUS?
Wow! This my new formula for sleep.
I even function better the following day!

Can I use the Lotus for ice-water extracts? I need a device for hash that will really deliver the goods. I will not be using it with flowers. Should I wait for the new high-temp version?

If you're going to be running high temperature, I'd look at another device - while the Lotus can probably handle it - I personally wouldn't risk it until we see what the new V4 cap looks like

Of course, I've already killed one cap from long high temperature hits (I have a nice healthy pair of lungs, guess I got carried away with reclaim soaked cotton that wouldn't stop milking the glass!)

I got a BLAZER ES1000 torch today.
It's too hot!
Even at the lowest setting it combusts bowls straight away.
Too powerful!

My t38 doesn't burn hot enough when the tank gets low.
I guess the search for the ideal lighter continues.

They are dirt cheap, come fast, and work just fine. Then you can look for something better (if you so desire) without the pressure of needing it right now. The second one is my hottest torch without being TOO hot.

If you are like me you will continue to buy them as you see ones you like... ;)

thanks, i was thinking i should just start grabbing those little ones as i see them. sadly after only a couple days the top is scorched to hell but it still seems to work okay. im having a little trouble not burning the corner of my bowls, but i'm having fun with it.

The Lotus is my favorite vape for bubble, although I usually have it on a bed of flowers and mix it in when it starts bubbling...

I guess a couple of fine screens would do the trick with hash alone (full melt might be an issue).
