If you like stories about bootleggers...

Great screenplay. Great soundtrack. Great scenery. Great acting (Even Shia LaBeouf manages to not seem like a talent-less hack). And it also features a ludicrous bad guy that allows for Guy Pearce to really chew some scenery.

Plus, the screenplay is by Nick Cave. Which just makes it cool automatically.

Man, if you live where I live, you better say you love this movie or be prepared to be shunned by all the locals...

Trailer Park Boys is what I am trying to get thru now. Would any of you know compared to the Seasons, when should I watch their Movies? Watch all episodes, then movies in order, or should I integrate the movies in as i watch the episodes.

The show does get tedious or slow at times, imo, I can't Power-Watch these like i can with some other shows, but I really do enjoy them.

I really liked them too, but noticed that when I tried to watch the show a second time through... I really didn't want to after a couple eps. The charm kinda wears off, I guess. And I think it's one of those shows where you can catch pretty much all the jokes the first time.

I could only watch about 2 at a time when I did watch them all the way through before I moved on to something else.

I really don't think it matters much what order you watch them in, with the movies. I mean... it's not exactly like these shows are all that plot-heavy, right?

FWIW, I found pretty much any episode to be better than any of the movies.

I REALLY liked World War Z as well. It did a great job of being an action / zombie movie without really making it seem like it was an action / zombie movie! I thought it was really smart, for the most part.

The only part of the movie that bugs me is when Brad Pitt is talking to that prisoner in jail, the ex-CIA guy who doesn't have any teeth left who tells him all about what went on in Jerusalem leading up to the breakout. That should have been Bryan Cranston playing that part. :disgust:

Just dreaming, I suppose...

I own that vid, Vicki!

We watched this last night.... *SCARY!!!!* Got the "unrated" one through Netflix Watch it now..

We own it too! :D

We are not "pro-zombie." Seriously, we refused to watch any zombie movies, until someone got us to watch Resident Evil. We have not seen one episode of The Walking Dead, either. Maybe I can talk hubby into giving World War Z a chance, though.

BTW, we have 3 cats, all siblings. We raised them from birth, and they are all 10 years old this year. Their names are Porthos, Aramis, and Athos, The Three Muskateers. :)

Is the Man Who Is Tall Happy?: An Animated Conversation with Noam Chomsky

quite the visual ride, the animations depict well the conversation and ideas being talked about. really enjoyed the discussions, gets deep often. it helped to reaffirm my stance on the art of questioning (mental experience) to supplement the retinal simulations that is visual experience, its how we evolve and many choose the easy route not even knowing it.

I watched the robocop reboot last night, and decided to hold on to it and give it another look instead of mailing it right back. It doesn't have the acerbic wit or the subtle snarkieism that I loved about the original, but it seems to have something going on. Just not sure what yet, it's quite different.

I did the same thing! Unfortuately, I found after the second viewing that I felt pretty much the same way as after the first - the reboot was okay, not great, almost forgettable but not quite.

There's certainly nothing *wrong* with the remake... it has tons of good actors and a decent re-story and all kinds of cool shit to look at. But it just didn't seem to offer anything new other than some pretty cool special effects.

Either way, I still liked it. But much like the "Total Recall" remake, I could have easily done without it.

Also, they missed, or misplayed, most of the best Robocop quotes.

Okay, I'm not saying I ever gave notes about this American version. :ninja:

But if you, an FC'er, have Netflix and haven't watched this series all the way through, then I don't know what the hell is wrong with you.

Also, Elijah is not acting when he makes this show.

PS. Skip episode #3 of the first season. Not the same team.

Netflix needs to add The Simpsons and Eastbound and Down.

All too often when I'm searching for the movie or show I want it isn't found.
Not wanting Hulu Plus with its commercials either.

Still searching for Smiley Face.

Anyone else use "Max" on PS3 for Netflix?

There is no HBO programming on Netflix unfortunately.

I love this movie! My Dad did too, and so does my husband, both Navy Veterans. (proud of and grateful to them both for their service!) It's great to make fun of an organization you have been a part of all your life!

I'm currently power watching Friday Night Lights. Three seasons down and two to go. It's not GREAT, but I'm loving it.
