Cory Glass Designs re/incyclers - high function and affordable?

I don't think that I will bet on that one because there are definitely some members with that crotchety old grandpa attitude that will wait it out and claim that it was worth the wait and not a big deal.

More power to you if you want to go through that but I feel like many others would like an artist who has the time to answer them. Someone who will listen to your needs and blow you the recycler you have been dreaming of. Someone who can give you an honest time line of when to expect your order. Someone with a email. Someone who ships their work in a box. The list goes on...

Being willing to wait for an artist and not caring about getting an update every couple days makes me crotchety? Haha I'm 24 so I learned the grandpa attitude early:tup:

I plan on using this piece for the rest of my life(god willing) So another week or two without it makes zero difference to me. I understand wanting to get it quickly, but clearly that's not happening here.

It seems very simple to me, if you like his style, great vortex, great price and are willing to wait, Cory is still a great option. If you aren't willing to wait, then go to another artist:shrug: From how clearly busy he is, it's not like his communication or sales style is going to change... He doesn't exactly seem to be hurting for orders... I still have yet to see $150 vortex like a CGD, but hopefully soon

Does anyone know why we have a thread for complaining about CGD if we keep it all here?? I would love to keep one dedicated to glass...

And anyone who bought before knowing about the lack of communication, that seriously sucks... You guys have legitimate reasons to complain

And just because you may be old and/or crotchety does not mean you are not cool

Heh heh heh. THAT I can certainly agree with. :)

The point to me is people just need to chill. We are unlikely to change anyone's behavior. If ya can't handle Cory's (or anyone else's) style you need to find someone else to get your shit from. We need to do what makes us comfortable. I realize that some folks got caught short and didn't know about Cory's style before placing their order, and they are just not going to be happy until their piece is in their hand, and maybe not even then is they can't let the process go. Sorry about that. You are kinda stuck and I DO feel for ya. Hopefully it won't be for too much longer.

Going forward anyone ordering from Cory needs to understand that he is an Artist and not much of a business person, and until or unless he gets some back office help, things may be slow and communication may be bad. But his glass is the tits.

EDIT: Great minds @sasNW

This thread is going so stale because of people with no patience.
I WANT IT NOW is a silly attitude.

You know, I started a thread for Ryu Wilson as well. While he doesn't do recyclers unless it's a colab, he does do awesome work (quickly) and has impeccable communication.

Of course you're looking at $250-300+ for a nicely worked piece.

If you can't wait and don't need a recycler I suggest hitting him up.

FYI that's not less than Cory charged me. Also @Deja Vu, even more tiring than the Cory complaining, is your commentary on it that says even less about the topic than the posts you're criticizing. With all due respect, instead of robo-posting on this thread, why don't you go finish that complete guide to vaporizing herbs thread that you promised us? I would find that much more useful.

Yes, I'm sure he loves you and calls you his little recycler. Is it true he doesn't use bubble wrap? Be safe, friend.

Hey look, there's actual non-subjective laws that could apply to some folks on this thread. Not to single anyone out, because few sellers seem to follow them and fewer buyers know their rights anyway.

The Mail or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule
This rule covers merchandise you order by mail, telephone, computer and fax. It requires merchants to have a reasonable basis for claiming they can ship an order within a certain time.

Ship Dates
  • By law, a merchant should ship your order within the time stated in its ads or over the phone. If the merchant doesn't promise a time, you can expect it to ship your order within 30 days.
  • The shipment "clock" begins when the merchant receives a "properly completed order." That includes your name, address and payment (check, money order or authorization to charge an existing credit account - whether the account is debited at that time or not).
  • If the merchant doesn't promise a shipping time and you are applying for credit to pay for your purchase, the merchant has an additional 20 days (50 days total) to establish the account and ship the merchandise.
Delays
If the merchant is unable to ship within the promised time, it must notify you by mail, telephone, or email, give a revised shipping date and give you the chance to cancel for a full refund or accept the new shipping date. The merchant also must give you some way to exercise the cancellation option for free, for example, by supplying a prepaid reply card or staffing a toll-free telephone number.

  • If you ignore the option notice, and the delay is 30 days or less, it's assumed that you accept the delay and are willing to wait for the merchandise.
  • If you do not respond - and the delay is more than 30 days - the order must be canceled by the 30th day of the delay period and a full refund issued promptly.
If the merchant can't meet the revised shipping date, it must notify you again by mail, email or telephone and give you a new shipping date or cancel your order and give you a refund.

  • The order will be canceled and a refund issued promptly unless you indicate by the revised shipping date that you are willing to wait.
  • If you do not respond at all to the second notice, it's assumed that you are not willing to wait, and a full refund must be issued promptly.
Refunds
If you authorized a charge to your credit card account, the merchant must credit the account within one billing cycle - not give credit toward another purchase. If you pay by cash, check or money order, the merchant must mail you a refund within seven working days.

Uh, I'm confused. Has anyone asked for their money back and been turned down? Have I missed that somewhere? If not than none of that shit applies.

While I'm asking that I gotta ask this. Has anyone gotten a broken piece in the mail? I hope he packs my piece better than a bubble envelope too, but if nobody has lost a piece than why does it matter?

That seems to be a worry for most of us since it was first mentioned...

We have similar laws like this in AUstralia. The Australia Consumer Rights are great. They MUST refund if you ask for it, and if they fuck you around they are in a lot of trouble with the department of fair trade.
If you don't know your rights then they dick you around way too much, especially large technology companies in my experience.

For those that may have gone with the colored glass for their vapecyclers (Love the piggy in particular), do you lose the visual of the cyclone enough to make one want to leave that cylinder clear? For me the cyclone effect is a big part of the allure...

Dude, I LOVE that pig!!! Buy it so I can watch videos of it!! My coworker who had a couple pigs is obsessed with the pigcycler. Seems like it's clear enough that you could see the whirlpool but not sure.....

Believe me, if I had the scratch to spare I would. I like it that much. I will have to be satisfied with a clear one, but I'm guessing that will make me plenty satisfied. :)

Cooooool. I am excited for you. Are you home to receive it?
