has there ever been a temp chart for the e-nano? I know all units are different but it would be nice knowing approximately what temp I am using. (which is typically at 7)

This chart is for the original nano with original cord and dial. Not sure how much it may be off for newer nanos with removable cords, but probably some.

Keep in mind, temperatures are going to vary a bit for different variables. Ambient room temp, how clean and direct your power is and other factors will slightly change temp even on the same nano. See the bit below from the master himself in response to this chart when it was posted back in April. It had been on the old website and up since about May 2013 IIRC.

Those results are based on one unit. The heating elements have a tolerance + or - 10%. The dimmers also have small variations. The number should be used for estimates only. Your mileage may vary. Such is life in the analog world.

Only real way to be sure is get a good infared thermometer, figure the point you want to measure temp at and start experimenting. For me, I don't really care what the exact temp is or even close to it. Just want to find my settings and have them respond the same when the same variables are in place. Never had an issue with this, but I do notice a slight difference between my house plugged into my pretty spiffy surge protector and my girlfriend's house with her Walmart surge protector. Not much, but my setup is about 1/4 notch warmer most of the time.

The numbers in the chart and Dafni's post are exact so I'd guess one of them took the info from the other. Either way its good information. I wish it covered all the numbers, but I guess you can figure it out if you follow the pattern. I know its bad for the wood but is it unsafe to leave it on 9 or 10 for long periods? Seems like the log would combust eventually

Yes.... I think this chart was compiled from Dafni's numbers but not sure. You'll notice in Dafni's post he mentions the linear increases. I've never had my nano do anything different. e.g. 1/2 notch on the dial is going to bump the heat about 15C (or whatever the actual temp), no matter where you are in the scale or probably where your nano actually runs at a given dial setting. I've always been amazed at how consistent this is, even with smaller bumps of the dial. There is a noticeable difference if you move it 1/4 mark (even less) that seems consistent throughout the heating range - at least between 5.5 & 7,5 IME.

The whole post is a very good read, and worthwhile even without the figures. Lots of good info there!

Eventually the log would combust? I guess, but I don't think too soon. Wood (like anything else) has a combustion temp. I don't think it will ever reach that temp even at 11. But, as the wood dries that temp will probably drop some. So if you left it on 10 for a month or so, it may - but I kind of doubt it. It will definitely dry it out relatively quickly and probably lead to cracking though. Don't know why anyone would even turn it up that high except to quick pre-heat. If your nano is running in about the same range as the chart, it would be going at about 300C. At that point you might as well just grab a Bic and torch up!

Actually, an infrared thermometer no matter what price would not produce an accurate enough reading to register properly for our needs - you could be off by 20+ degrees. Think of traditional IR thermometers as an "average" temperature - they aren't very precise. Maybe a high def FLIR could register close to the actual temperature, but that's probably not what you were referring to.

In reality, you need some cheap disposable raw material (like tobacco or tea leaves), and a thermistor implanted in the center of the load. Then use some sort of device to 'draw' on the vape's mouthpiece to produce airflow (since you probably don't want to inhale any off-gassing from the thermistor during testing).

Hey all!

Just posted a review of my experience with @Snappo over on his thread (Link here: Exotic Wood Blanks for Heirloom Quality Custom Log Vapes & Vapor Stems )

Long story short - ordered some awesome exotic Afzelia Burl from Snappo and shipped it to EV to have it turned into a Nano. I still haven't fired her up yet, but I will tonight.

Enough jabbering, here she is!!!!

How do you guys reclaim from your glass stems? I did the cotton wool wipe on my gong and it worked well but the glass stem seems too long to wipe clean, even after a session it seems to cool to wipe clean.

Or even better thishttp://m.dhgate.com/product/td-324-bubbler-water-percolator-smoking-color/186595467.html#s2-9-1

You're thinking way too much about combustion! Do you really want to crane your neck every time you use the glass? Most of us like bent neck glass so we don't need to bend OUR necks to use it!

Also note the ice-piks - those are completely unnecessary for vaporizers (cold air condenses the vapor and sticks to the glass - always use warm water in your pieces!)

Remember, using a bubbler with a vaporizer is only to add a bit of moisture and to cool the hit. Too much diffusion will completely eliminate all taste from the vapor!

heat it up with your torch lighter on the sides carefully. Just get it hot enough to get the oil moving.

My E-Nano recently started making a rattling sound I am assuming it is some sort of loose screw or bolt? Is it safe for me to open it and try to make a repair.

I do not think that I am jumping the gun when I say that the e nano is the coolest vape in have ever experienced. Ex. Volcano owner who had a bad taste for convection units in his mouth. This thing is so versitile. And I would say I get more bang for my buck on my herb of choice even compared to my whispy mflb sessions. If anyone is on the fence to pick up this unit I urge you to treat yourself to one of these beauties. I am nearly speechless. Phenomenal.
