I was always pretty careful to not over pack mine. I would not fill it up past where the neck starts to taper, and I never crammed flowers into it.

The lid always seemed almost too tight to me, and I just noticed that one of the plastic rings that seal the lid to the jar is chewed to Hell. This, after only two months of use. Perhaps my instinct was correct, and the lid really was simply too tight on mine.

That's how mine is as well, the plastic rings are chopped up, it's, like as you say, almost too tight. Maybe I'll keep m&ms or something in it. Broken glass around flowers just isn't a chance I'm willing to take.

I have the same jar as well (a few of them)...all from seventh floor... all a few years old.
Mine are OK, but I have always babied them.
Visual inspection tells you that it is the thickness of a water glass, and must be approached as such.
The body works with brain fast... and that is why you did not "follow through" more and cut self.
Glass is fragile.
Apothecary type, Ball, and mason type jars and their cousins are solid, but they too can be weak.
I never liked the plastic flanges on the top.
It detracts greatly from the fact that one is using a glass jar with a matching top.
You open your treasure, and the plastic rings alter the ambience a bit.

I don't have money for the SSV at the moment, but is the DBV the same thing?

Same heating element?

Ultimately, I want the cleanest air path and vapor. And is the vapor identical on the DBV and SSV?

Or is the SSV giving a more premium air path too?

I understand the SSV looks cooler and swivels...but is that it?

Swivels? Only difference is heater cover angle and heater cover style. Same materials used throughout.

The SSV swivels where the wand connects, so if you move, it doesn't just pull off...at least that's what I thought.

So the vapor is the same in term if cleanliness?

Hey guys. Just got the DBV a couple of days ago. I received mine from Toronto vaporizer with a blue whip which I thought was unusual. It doesn't seem to fit properly into the wand. The whip is quite a bit wider than the wand inlet diameter so it folds when squeezed in. This leave a small air gap. I will try and take pictures when I get home. Not sure if any of you guys have run into this issue.
I'm thinking of just ordering an original clear one if this is not normal.

Other than that I love everything about it. It still hits really well.

dcolaco,
Well got tired of my EQ and picked up the Da Buddah this was the vape I passed up last time and since the EQ was a great beginners vape I'm not sure if I would do anything different. So far I would say it was an upgrade this thing gets scary hot, I also like the side load instead of on the top so stuff can't fall and burn on the heater overall it had a nice design and it's well built. I would be scared of destroying the EQ if it fell the DBV the heater cover will probably break but that would be about it. Has anyone ever found out what the temps are at the 11, 12, 1 and 2 clock settings on it?

Each dial is different, ask @Caligula about his temp gun thing

Anyone know how hot da buddah gets? Also what are the screen made of?

I am trying to figure outif the screen off gasses anything into the vapor...

Btw, just bought a buddah...I let it burn for 45 minutes to get any residue from the machine process off. Using it now...

Hey guys, I just got my DBV today. I am in the process of running it for 10 min on high before using.

I ordered it from Vaporseller.com. Not sure if I'd buy from them or not. The price was very nice ($131.50), but it took a over a week to get to me. Also, UPS managed to crush the box. The DBV was mostly spared (a small scratch), but the wand was broken. Fortunately, a smoke shop kinda nearby had a replacement whip package for sale.

Are there any cool things you can do with the DBV that a new owner should know about? I've already got a 14mm ground glass water pipe adapter, so I'm all set there.

Edit: I just took my first hit. Holy fucking fuck. What a nice cloud.

Temperature varies from unit to unit, and the screens are made of stainless steel.

Do you know if the screens an release any chemicals or metals into the vapor?

Do other whips work with da buddah? I think I have seen ceramic and glass screens of certain wands before...

It is hot enough to combust your meds, before you reach the top of the dial.

Do you think it reaches hotter than 500 Fahrenheit ?

What's the highest you can hit the DBV? Anyone go all the way up, max temp?

I use the DBV at max when I have the Ti-nail from the DBV Oil Rig on the element.
Yes I think it reaches 500 degrees.
The element itself likely is higher than that.

If you are really so worried about the Stainless Steel (for absolutely no reason) 7th Floor sell ceramic filters on their own website, under the Accessories section.
