Glad I kept checking in and finally made a couple of orders for my Solo!

GR,

Team NO SLEEP!
@FlyingLow A Lotus Wong? I have no knowledge of such a thing, will have to investigate that, can you post a pic?

LOL ~ Thats because you haven't created one yet!
(It only exists in my head at the moment:D)
We can take this to PM if you wish, I am just exploring the idea.

Here are a few pics of the stock all metal WPA, what Lotus refers to as a WaterPipeAdapter.

(pics "borrowed" from Google images)

The 14mm bottom part is tapered, but the bowl is just a straight cylinder. I can dig out my calipers and email you some dimensions.

The Lotus is my daily driver, and if possible I would love to use it with an Ed's Wong, rather than the stock one pictured above.

Hello and good morning everyone, I hope all is well out there. Been giving it hell yall, been up since midnight got some work done in the shop, not as much as I woulda liked but still some is better than none.

@GR I am glad you hung in there with me and were able to pick up what you were waiting on, I am sorry its been such a delay. I will make sure you get the best of your selection. Thanks for the biz and for stopping by.

@FlyingLow Hmmm that is interesting, I will have to give it some thought, lets do talk about it however youd like and we will see where it goes. I do have to tell you that I am really really slammed at the moment with a little thing I am working on that I am hoping brings brighter days to all those involved! I mentioned a while back I had something cooking, its been simmering for some time now, wont be much longer now, I am serving up a hellova dish!

Alright yall, did another solo stand last night, was something a little different and outa the ordinary but nothing ordinary about it.

Good evening FC. Just wanted to quickly share a prototype multi-tool that @Ed's TnT was kind enough to send my way for testing. Quick rundown, Ed produced this to act as a "C" clip removal tool for his stems/wongs as well as to be used as a bowl tamper, stir rod AND a dabber! Why a dabber? Because that awesome metal he used is genuine grade 2 Titanium!

Thats whats up.

Anyway, Im still testing it out, and talking things over with Ed but here are some teasers to tide you over until I get better lighting. Of course I will also keep you guys up to date on any changes Ed wants to make to the final version!

So far so good!

...oh and I did that to the poker with my torch while fucking around with it. Ed shipped it with the natural satin titanium finish. If anyone wants to do this, keep the temps low.

What I like about this dabber is that the tip is super fine (@Deadshort480 thats why I was asking on IG) and it allows me to spear tiny pieces of rock hard shatter with NO issues. Is have to use 2x as much and play with it until its pliable and sticky enough to get on my boro dabber.

@Ed's TnT The tie-die colored wong in the post above is amazing! Is that the canary wood?

Hello and good morning everyone, its gonna be a great day, I got that feeling! I took my two oldest boys fishing yesterday, we went to a state park lake I used to fish back when I was a kid many years ago. Its a small lake nothing special, used to ski in it back when my parents had a boat and all, spent many good times there. Anyhow we had a good time, spent a couple hours or so wetting a hook without much success. I skunked my boys, 2 to zip to zip, caught a small bass and brim. Oh and I got some sun alright, got quite a sun burn all across my back, sides, arms and legs. I guess I have been in the shop for too long not spending enough time in the sun. I am dark complected and tan fairly quickly but havent had the time to do so or had a need to be in the sun. Maybe we shoulda done more fishing earlier throughout the year. Been really nice having the wife rub me down with lotion.

Been giving it hell in the shop the last few days doing custom pieces and solo stems. Got a hella big order from my guy in France I gotta get started on ASAP and the day after I got another considerable order from one of my guys in Australia. Gonna be slammed the next few weeks for sure. Wood Solo stems are very popular worldwide! Gonna be doing quite a # of EQ accessories also to go to the EU, seems they are sick and tired of breaking glass and are looking for an alternative. I just got in several board feet of Mexican Catalox and Mexiccan T'zalam both have alot of figure with fiddleback marking. Gonna be fun to work and turn!

@Caligula Wow what a nice matching set you have there! I appreciate you posting the pics and really thank you for your effort in all you are doing testing it for dabbing. You are doing a great job and thank you also for the updates and ideas you are sharing with me. It looks like you are enjoying it and what you have mentioned is that you are using it more so than your normal piece right? I am glad to hear it! Keep it up bro and pls continue to share your feelings with me, you are the MAN! Thats wild looking tie dyed wong above is actually Nicaraguan Cocobolo, its one of my most favorite woods to work and varies in colors so much. Its a trip, its like a diamond in the rough. The blanks I am working tend to be really dark on the outer sides but when you start peeling them off on the lathe you start to see whats inside and the more you take off the true beauty starts to come out. That piece above looked nothing like that in color just looking at the blank, its a trip and always fun to see whats hiding inside.

@Reflections I hadnt thought of doing Nano stands but surely I could, just would have to get a slightly larger bit but thats no big deal. I did just get in a bunch of lumber to match the 3 most common units Andy offers and oh I also have a few slabs of Koa, how bout that? They arent curly like your Nano or stem but are Koa none the less. Hmmmm maybe I could do ya something if youd like! Give it some thought, Id be more than happy to do ya something nice!

I hope I dont shake this feeling and hope the day ends as well as it started. Gonna take it easy the rest of the day and take some pics of the new Cocobolo wong, butter some freshly turned pieces, and keep an eye out for 5 O'clock, got a few coldies that need the tops popped!

Have a great day you all and a safe weekend! Holla if I can do anything for ya!

Now for a little show and tell, this is some of that Asian Camphor Burl Snappo was offering, did this for a member here at FC, this piece is really mesmerizing with curl and burl!

2014-07-03105703_zps0cea7ee1.jpg
This arrived 9.7.14 or 10.7.14 in Ohio after placing an order on 25 June. @Snappo shipped the blank directly to Ed, who let me know when it arrived, when it was finished, and when it shipped. Looks great in person; the picture doesn't do the holographic look of the wood justice. I'll post some pictures later when my phone stops making them look like this:

Edit: if anyone liked the burls @Snappo has and the picture @Ed's TnT posted, It was $12.00 and $3.95 shipping for the burl, and 30 for Ed to turn it into a stem. Arrived discreetly in a bubble-wrap padded manilla envelope package. Seemed solid for shipping.

I figured I should stop by this thread and give some much deserved praise to @Ed's TnT on the choice of screens in my solo shorty stem. It is fine enough (50 microns?) that I can vape a bowl of kief with absolutely nothing else in the load to keep the kief in place. Delicious, long last full bowls of kief are really helping me finally kick combusting!

Look at what I got!

Gawd! Those are beautiful stems!!! Fantastic Video Review - WELL DONE PRESENTATION!!!

For added flavor and clouds on the first few draws of a fresh load packed just a bit tight, I let the stem heat soak for about 45 seconds - WOW ...what a difference! Love the extra flavor & clouds!!! ENJOY folks ...it only gets better and better from Ed's TnT!!!

Well good afternoon everyone!

@Submisfit Thanks for stopping by and posting with your kind words bro! You are right, its so hard for the camera to really show the true beauty of most woods I work, they are way better looking in the hand. I hope you enjoy that piece for a long time to come.

@herbivore21 Thank you also for stopping by and the praise! Thats the shit and why I love what I do! I love working wood but really enjoy hearing that in some way I was able to make an positive impact on someones life, no matter how it may be. I get those screens from my distributor at Glow Industries, they are just the right mesh size. I thank you again and appreciate you!

@Enchantre Watch out girl! That video review is the shit! You did very well and have brightened my day, thank you for that. I am so glad to see you are happy with those pieces and know you will put them to good use. I am glad to be a part of your vaping experience and hope you will let me know if I can ever do anything else for you in the future, it would be my pleasure!

@Snappo Thank you too for your post of kind words, as I said above I appreciate them and hope I dont get a big head today! You all are why I do what I do and why I work so hard at what I do, thank you so much!

I gotta give you all a shout out here at FC, to all the folks in charge and all the folks that make this such a great community. You all have made a big impact on my life and what I am able to do for my family and you all continue to everyday! This place is a blessing and I am truly grateful for all I have been able to do here. I have so much going on now and so much more I wanna give the community in the future. I wish I could tell you all what I am up to but the time is not right, pls hang in there with me and you all will be the first to know what I been cooking!

Thank you!

Those are some amazing pieces enchantre.. love the double inlay <jealous> lol..

That makes 2 of us!! - Extremely jealous!! ;) :D :luv:

I'm also pleased to report that I've now tried out the clip remover tool and it works an absolute treat! It was far easier to use than I was anticipating

I'm just wondering where I can purchase some extra c clips now though - it's always good to have a few spares around I reckon. Are you planning on starting to sell them on your site @Ed's TnT ?

Hello and good afternoon everyone, I trust all is well out there.

@Reflections Glad you like the double inlay, that piece was fun to make and did turn out well, thanks for the kind words.

@Vapour Clown I am happy you are excited about the work I will be doing for you. I gotta tell ya I already turned your solo stand, have not drilled the holes yet for the solo or stems but it looks amazing! The Catalox is really heavy and finishes sleek. I cant wait to finish all the pieces and see them together to see how they all match up then, that will be the shit! Hang in there with me, I wanna do ya right!

@Seren The clip/ring removal tool is really easy to operate, glad you found it to be so. Hoping @Caligula will have a how to video of it done soon. His videos are great and am anxious to see how well he does it.

@Seren & @Reflections I do need to make the clips and screens available for all the stems I make, its just hard to find the time to make it all happen for so long. I will try and get them shot and posted this week though for you all to get extras if you like. Guess I could put my boys to work packaging them and getting them ready for sale. Pls hang in there with me!

@Vicki Thanks for the kind words and your anticipation for my work to arrive! I really hope you like the piece and am excited to see some pics of it when loaded with your gear. You may see it tomorrow even, keep your fingers crossed!

@Ed's TnT Sorry for lagging on that video my friend. After getting back from Hawaii, I caught a nasty cold and then I broke the glass on my phone (which doubles as my camera)! Im still waiting on the 3rd shitty thing to happen, lol. They always come in 3s right?

Anyway, I got the screen replaced today and am now back up and running. Ill have something up this week!
