Hey fellas, I was wondering if I could get people's opinion from both sides and convince me which way to swing. I've had a ssv in the past but it broke :( and I've been rolling with a pax for a while now. I love whip vapes but I've also wanted to try bag vapes as well. I want the best of both worlds, but is it worth it for the price? Thanks.

Not for me. You can buy several vaporizers for $700. FWIW, bags arent all that unless you do a lot of group sessions. i have a volcano digit, arguably still the best bag filler, and I seldom use it. For $700 you could get an HI (or enano if you dont want to wait) plus an ssv, plus a solo, plus a cheap chinese bubbler. I wouldnt plunk down that much for a single device. But thats just me.

The Herbalizer is worth the price IMO. Herbie uses state of the art bulb technology, heats up in 10 seconds, convection vapor, precise temperature control and you can use bags, glass or the whip. Not only that, Herbie does surprisingly well with concentrates with Herbie's concentrate pad. Oh yeah, BTW, Herbie is very efficient with your stash and medicates like no other IMO. The Silver Surfer is a very nice vaporizer, but isn't in the same league as The Herbalizer. If you can afford it go Herbalizer!!!

Anyway to run the herbie through some water? Is it all glass pathway? How is it on conservation of herb?

Yes, you can use water filtration with Herbie. You can use the whip with an appropriate adapter to your water piece or you can place a hydro tube directly onto the Bowl with a silicone adapter. There are a few examples on the Herbalizer thread. No, it is not an all glass air path as you use whips and bags. The Herbalizer gets very high marks in its ability to conserve your stash.

How is it on taste and flavor?

Taste is very good and if you've been rolling with a pax, I think you'll find the flavor is exceptional in comparison. Now, in all honesty, I've used Vapes with better taste for the initial couple hits ( the Solo comes to mind), but the Herbalizer tastes good throughout your entire session. I think the fact that it's a purely convection vape bodes well for great taste for the entire bowl. Like I said, a vape like the Solo might taste a little better initially, but taste deteriorates rapidly and soon your left with what's often referred to as a burnt popcorn taste. That is not the case with the Herbalizer....

Nobody can decide that but you. I've used the SSV extensively and sucked many a bag 'o vapor as well. I enjoy direct draw much more than bagged vapor as far as the experience. You can also miscalculate with bags and end up with more produced vapor than you want, and I also found that bag fill encouraged me to load more. I used more herb with my herbalAire than any other model I've owned, and that's been quite a few. OTOH if I was going to use both methods again, I'd use whatever direct draw only model I'm currently using, and add the herbalAire back into the mix- it's a quality unit (that also does direct draw) from a company with great svc. and very affordable. If you end up getting tired of bag fill (many do) you can easily resell the herbalAire. The Herbalizer is great, just don't let anyone tell you that you need to spend that kind of $ to get quality.
