Ryan (Ryu) Wilson Glass

Ryu is an up and coming glass artist and is already producing some sick work after only a few years in the game. One part to his success, undoubtedly, is the mentoring he has recieved from his shopmates out in Peoria, Il... most notable being @gordo.scientific and Fogz! In fact, Gordo recently gave Ryu a shout out on his IG feed, so you know hes got his game dialed in.

At the moment, I believe Ryu is working on refining his own style of oil rig and they have really caught my attention (thank you @Herr_Dampf and @Deadshort480 for pointing these out). The pieces use minimal water and offer sufficient yet minimized diffusion via a 3 hole diffy to preserve flavor. The glass is also designed so that the user gets zero spashback in the mouff. I asked. In any regard, these are legit pieces, as I am sure you will agree once you see the examples below:

I've also seen a couple of his "1 UP" rigs, which look very legit! in fact I believe Fogz even made the foot for this one:

In any case, I have invited Ryu to the forums here, and told him to contact a mod/admin for a special account. By everything he has said it looks like he is pretty stoked to come over and jump into the conversation, and stated that he should be online later this evening. Hopefully that means we will have yet another resident FC glass artist from which to pester/buy from! Heh.

Oh, and nothing solid yet but I was in talks with him regarding securing either some sort of FC member discount or perhaps doing a group buy. Ill let Ryu hash out the details on that, but I wanted to throw it out there to gauge interest. IMO a group buy which would also let the participants request custom colors/aspects would be ideal... but we shall see. Like I said none of that was OK'd by the artist, just that he liked the idea.

With all that said, Ill leave the floor open to you guys, and of course Ryu once he gets his account all set up!

Yeah it is kinda like looking through a glass bottom boat onto a reef or something, very similar colours. Its interesting that your piece came out with different colour profiles with the addition of the Equinox colour instead of the Amethyst used in my piece...fascinating what patterns and colour combos can be stored in this double dipped tubing!
