Vapor Brownies (ABV Cannaoil)

I used canola also. Next time I'm at trader joe's I'll have to pick up a bottle, I've been trying to get away from GMOs. I have made cookies the last two times and they have always been a big hit. I brought them to a small festival and gave them to camping buddies and they were very impressed that they were made from ABV. I was surprised how much more ABV I could fit into a half a cup after the coffee grinder, I'm going to have to take it slow with these.

Edit: here's the recipe I use. Obviously I just use oil instead of butter and I usually substitute Flax seed for egg. One batch can last me a few months and they hold very well in the freezer.

while on the subject of traitor joes and brownies i feel this is appropriate!

I found this recently, its brownie mix, but if you add 1 egg instead of 2 it becomes cookie dough, and its really good. it makes what i call "blackout cookies'

I just ground mine in a coffee grinder and added it. I didn't bother to filter it out when it was ready, just dumped it into the batter. Remember you will need a warm plate to keep the coconut oil liquified.

I've tried coconut oil 3x using "warm" infusion with a coffee cup warmer and it was OK but I thought it was way too sweet with the brownies. I'm very satisfied using organic canola oil and I find that for whatever reason this oil seems to garner a stronger result.

When i go for coconut oil i heat in on the lowest setting on my stove, which works out to about 260f. i watch it with laser thermomoter to make sure it doesn't get too hot. whats left is ran thru a french press for making coffee, works well to get all the plant material out.

Looking forward to using cold infusion when the time comes.

One question: Is there an alternative to a conventional oven for baking the final mixture? Ideally this could be something done outside. (I am a college student, access to ovens is limited if not impossible)

Check the Suzy Homemaker product line. Kidding. The logical answer is a toaster oven with a long extension cord but that's going to require a few adjustments especially regarding getting a full batch in the thing. Probably not such a good idea. If baking is an issue why not just warm infuse with coconut oil and eat a spoonful out of the fridge when you feel like it?

about mints - i highly recommend buying a handful of actual mint leaf and cutting up the pieces into very tiny little pieces and stirring it into the mix. two tablespoons approximately. my favorite brand for brownie mix is Ghirardelli. even though the recipe calls for only 1/3rd a cup of oil i find no issue with a half cup of ABV oil. I also tend to slightly under-bake the batch as it will solidify perfectly well in the freezer.

Would adding say a gram of keif and 1.5 of to shelf blue dream haze to my abv mix before making oil extract it? Like will it add potency or waste my product

This will definetly make your brownies more potent! Just rember to decarb it properly before adding it to your recipe...

My question is does pouring it in my oil while I'm cooking the abv enough to decarb or should I try a alternative method

So i made brownies today the mix called for 1/3 cup oil 1/4 water, I saved vapor water for 3 days exactly 3/4 worth I then boiled my 4 solo stems I let build with resin, covered and let boil for 20 min when I took it off the stems remained dirty but the water was certainly green and dank. I set that to the side. I then put 2/3 cup canoil on my stove at low level with my 2/3 cup abv. While I did that I ground up 1 gram of blue dream haze very finely and added .6 of ghost og kief and .3 of green crack waxy bho in a aluminum foil cookie placed it on a oven tray set timer to 10 minutes. I cooked the abv oil for 1:10min with stems, the abv was all from solo vape at 3 or 4 so fairly light and my combustion friends fight to blaze it. I then strained oil into the brownie mix and added 2 spoon fulls of plant matter. I added a spoon full of butter and a spoon full of sugar into the mix with one egg and 1 egg white with the water from earlier, I pulled out the fresh mix and it smelled similar to my on its lowest two settings so I closed it and let it sit in the foil for 5 minutes till it cooled so it cooked a little longer added this to the mix baked brownies at low temp. They barley taste bad but nobody is feeling their effects. Where did I go wrong? I've boiled solo stems in milk and made oatmeal and that alone got me rippped, I had high hope for the brownies and I know everything was dank buds, I just want to know where I went went wrong so they come out better next time

Hey Hey
@420democrat, Pretty sure that even though you de-carbed the bud and keif, you still need to add it to the oil for extraction.

Also, your oil needs to be a low temperature and probably a lot longer than the hour and a half you gave yours. Straining it would have removed a lot of good stuff as well, especially since I don't think that you gave it long enough to extract.

What temperature did you bake the brownies at? Too high will kill the goodness as well

I'm new to this as well, but was successful on my first try. I made my oil by using canola(it was at hand) and 20g of fine ground ABV in a mason jar for a week in a cool dark area, shaking twice daily. Kinda ghetto, but boy did it work:nod:

Got a brownie mix that required oil, complete with white choc and dark choc pieces, plus a cup of crushed(roughly) walnuts and pecans. I mixed all that together with a couple of nice local eggs, the ABV canola(unstrained) and banged it in the oven for the required time.

All up, I made a dozen fuckin delicious couch-locky monsters:whoa: After a day on the vapes and one of these, I was out within the hour. My mate had one and told me his dog spoke to him:rofl:

Next time, I'm gonna have a crack at the bain-marie method with coconut oil and soy lecithin, to see if I can achieve better, but the bar is pretty high already;)

Right here...

I let mine simmer in a crockpot on warm (below low) a few days, the MB2 peeps say 12hr minimum and that product stirs itself and can change temps automatically. Go ahead and throw in the decarbed kief and flowers for a more potent punch...

as an aside, it's very good to turn as many friends on to vaping as possible especially if they live very close and to tell them how important it is to bring over their ABV; that you will share the brownies. this way, especially if you employ the 7 day cold infusion method, you will have a steady flow of batches coming, and from strains that you might not have had an opportunity to try.

I understand that soy lecithin is an emulsifier, and it increases bioavailability.
Has anyone tried using soy lecithin with the cold infusion method? I'm wondering what kind of an effect it would have, if any.

Just made my first batch of brownies from this thread using 7 day extraction process.
There still in the oven cooking, but I must say I cleaned out the bowl about 25 mins ago and I'm beginning to feel it.
I used 12g of AVB and 1g of fresh bud.
3/4 cup of canola oil
1 tsp of vinegar
Pinch of salt.
7 days later and I'm baking.

Will let you know how it goes.

cool - 3/4 cup of oil? not familiar with any brownie mix that calls for that much but good luck; hope it works out. right now my favorite mix is ghirardelli triple fudge or something like that. i actually snip a handful of spearmint leaves with a manicuring scissor til it's just specs and put that in the mix as well.

Couldn't find a recipe that used oil in the brownies mix. The ingredients called for 200g of butter and 60ml of water. So I figure 3/4 cup was close enough a conversion.

The brownies cooked fine. I waited to they cooled and had half about 1-1/2 hrs ago. Plus I cleaned the bowl which kicked things off this morning ;)

Day off work today so now just going to chill.

Good plan and ideally the conversion worked but i honestly can't fathom not finding a brownie mix that calls for oil. It can't be that different in Australia. :) But as long as it works and it tastes OK. While we're on the subject I'm going to have a brownie now myself.
