I hope not -- but look close at coil --- you think maybe the titanium burnt in a spot -- gotta be careful at that temp----- especialy with titanium imo -- i even burnt a 3.7 kiss but it was too dry and too high -- 4.3v -- i was able to look close (with magna glass) and see the small hole in wire - gd news is they can b rebuilt easy -- well--- easy enough anyway ! lolHey guys, im just getting home i go to set up my persei with my 7.4 kiss.. Hey guys, im just getting home i go to set up my persei with my 7.4 kiss.. I just took to hits and my persei flashes three times and i smell burning coming from my top... I filed a ticket with w9 but has anyone had this problem? Im super bumbed i just got this last week!
It was a short on the Kiss cart. If you not insist pushing the Persei's button when it flashes 3 times, it would be ok. But if you insist, you sure burnt the Persei top (smell burning top confirms it).
I had the same problem and W9 changed the top very quickly (and I'm not in USA !)
I love the UP Tech products and the professionalism of Gary and his staff
The rule is : when the Persei flashes 3 times, stop pushing the button and find the short circuit before pushing again

I know its not my kiss cart or herc. Tested both of them and both read 2.43. It was my top for sure

Hmm are you sure you're using your meter correctly? A correctly assembled Herc shouldn't have the exact same resistance as a KISS cart.I know its not my kiss cart or herc. Tested both of them and both read 2.43. It was my top for sure

Sorry it wasn't the same should've specified. My herc was at 2.40 kiss cart was at 2.43

I'm a lurker who just got a persei ti and I'm using a 7.4 kiss cart. I love it but have had some issues due to user error. I burnt out my first cart day two; I wasn't pulsing the power button. My new carts arrived the other day and I have been so cautious with the power button. I'm not holding the button for more than two seconds at a time and I am always keeping a dab on top of the coils. What can I do about the built up wax in the base of the cart? Do I have to have a dab on top of the coils at all times or will the wicks draw it out of the base or will I have to clear that out myself? I went digging around with my first cart and I'm sure that led to its early demise as well. How long should these carts last?
I'm looking forward to get dialed in with this as I was using a g pen before and this is night and day. I have a few 3.7 carts coming next week to see how they perform for me. I think I'll get the okeanos when I get more comfortable.

7.4 KISS carts are very touchy. I burned out my first one after about a week, and I had one die on the first day of use. They are pretty easy to rebuild. You should be able to use a toothpick or something to bring the goodies back on to the coil. Just be careful not to probe around under or even right next to it if possible. Check my sig for a link to the page with my rebuild instructions.

Some people have had good luck using a toothpick or some other non-metal thing to pick out the oil that has fallen to the bottom of the cup. Some people have also had good luck turning the device upside down and gently pulsing the coil to encourage the oil to drip out.
I have had terrible luck with either, and just reclaim it all when I give it periodic isobaths. If the coil or wick is too dirty, I flame it from above with a mini torch, rather than dry burning.

Does anybody have an instructional manual for the Core? The w9 site says that it comes with one but my Core arrived without one. I'm trying to figure out why I can't get my Persei tops to fit onto the Core body. I'm hoping I'm just an idiot and someone here can help me out. Thanks!

EDIT: Okay, so I got it up and running now (I was confused by the tubes that came with The Core), but my top blinks three times every once in a while when it moves. I'm pretty sure I remember some people having that problem when it first came out. Any ideas?

One "Made in China" just like where the 8 is being manufactured. Most likely a pic taken by the manufacturing plant.

The smaller logo looks better, much better... So I am a little back with my catching up of the thread but is the 8 supposed to be the next persei? What are the differences?
The 8 is a mechanical top , no electronics.
@THC SCIENTIFIC the logos both look great. I like the small one on the short tube and the large one on the large tube.
