Discontinued The Herbalizer

It's so weird....with the same amount of wax/oil, I can get so much more out of it from my Herbalizer than I can with my Dr. Dabber, or my Maud Dib box. It's freaking me out.

I get more hits, and it seems to hit me harder. Incidentally, I always run my Herbie at 445F when I'm vaping concentrates.

I received my Herbalizer Thursday and the last 48 hours have been spent in an Herbalized haze.

I haven’t found anything I don’t like about it. This was the first time I’ve used bags, and they work great. It’s nice to have another option to get Herbalized.

I used the whip with a glass drip tip I use with my e-cig’s. I used the whip more so I could pull the bowl off between hits.

I also have an Ascent and it came with a 14mm straight water tool adapter. It fits the bowl perfect, with an air tight seal. The gong end fits a 510 drip tip, air tight. This is now my favorite way to use Herbie.

This is an amazing vaporizer! I'll buy anything the dolphins put out in the future!

Here's a few pics from the past couple hazy days.

That's so wierd cause I have the ascent as well with both 14mm and 18mm stems but they don't fit into my herbalizer chamber I did try it thought with luck I think it with break if I force it.
I have a 18mm adaptor that fits rit on the herb chamber with a rubber grommet and the seal is great, I use all my water tools with this set up and use the whip with a other adaptor but I can also go directly in the chamber with my adaptor as well.
I love the versatility of this unit it can be i
Used with pretty much anything, hut I wish my glass stem fit like yours that's a perfect sr up man. Lol

My guess that's convection being more efficient than conduction

Thanks, guess I got lucky with the fit, the versatility is great.
I have a new problem now, I can't seem to let Herbie sit for more than an hour lol.

I'm gonna disagree. Now who's gonna settle this debate?
I dunno:shrug: I haven't used a Herbie yet. But from what I've read from these 147 pages of very positive reviews, it seems that as far as convection vapes go, Herbie delivers it better, not forgetting an equally honorable mention for the EVO. What appears to set these two convection vape champions apart from the rest of the convection herd is the "technology". Similarly, to this friendly debate, conduction vapes vary greatly in their vapor output quality (e.g., flavor, density, efficiency, etc.). So while conduction is conduction, the design and technology behind the different vapes has much to do with their quality of output. Anyway, this was the rationale behind my initial speculative statement "Me thinks that the Herbalizer technology has much more to do with it than just simple convection physics:2c::2c::peace:."

here's my reasoning...while Herbie pushes the tech envelop by giving us a vape with unprecedented temp control and temp change speed, at the end of the day it is still just pushing hot air over herbs.

People are reporting higher efficiency with the EVO nail than traditional nails, but that still has a little bit of conduction/radiation going on. I think Herbie uses an even purer ratio of convection heat to other heat types. What we do know is that conduction can burn and destroy, while convection doesn't burn and makes vaporization more efficient. We as a cannabis culture are just now starting to realize the joys of convection dabbing.

If anyone tries this be careful, remove the stem while its still warm. I just snapped mine off in the bowl trying to remove it when cold.

I think that radiation could have been a factor in the self-extinguishing mini flash combustion that I experienced recently, that's my herbie thought for today. It seems like if it was convection alone that it would not have gone out on it's own, because of the continual re-introduction of air to the bowl.

Yeah, I totally agree. I can get more bang per dab with the Herbalizer vs. my Dabbler or Omicron Light. The only downside is that it takes quite a bit longer to get full extraction with Herbie, but that's usually not much of a concern with me. If I'm in a hurry I'll reach for my Dabbler, but if I want a more relaxed session that's going to get me super medicated I'll fire up the Herbalizer. I've also noticed that concentrates taste very clean and flavorful even with the whip. I'm impressed to say the least. I also agree that for concentrates I'm usually in the 430F to 445f range. Higher heat just works better!

I've found the concentrate pads superior to anything I've used before. There's never any mess as the concentrate melts into the pad and virtually disappears. That may not be a big plus to some, but to me it's huge. Herbie gets the job done.... Clean tasty hits, no mess and very efficient that's what's up!!

So, I have had some time with my Herbie, and I have some "issues" I would definitely like to get worked out.

The fan is shutting off while I fill bags...why is it doing this? I don't like the fact that out of the blue the fan is shutting off on it's own when I didn't before, this should not be happening..

I asked earlier about the lid, and I know others are complaining about it, but it should shut all the way, yes? Especially if one wants to take advantage of aromatherapy mode (given the lid/vent are one thing)? Since the lid is kind surprisingly cheap, AND separate, does Herbalizer replace them if they are remaining slightly open, as they are?

I'm getting a feel for the temps and all, but I also realized something kind of important, and a rather significant failing of the device (or at least the bowl) in personally being able to enjoy it...the bowl is quite simply too small. Yes, the herbie is rather efficient, but the bags aren't exactly huge, and I suck one of those down pretty quick and am coming back for more at least it can heat back up real quick). The fact is, the bowls are so small I find myself wishing it was more Volcano size (which can get me blazed a lot faster it seems, especially once I hook an XL bag up to it..).

Now of course I thought, why not just make my own XL Herbie bag (or wait for them to make their own, kudos at least to them using stock material that doesn't make that super loud krinkle noise that the easy valve bags do). But the same issue kept coming back, the herb chamber just doesn't hold as much as I'd like. I can get about 10 regular bags/sessions out of one volcano bowl, whereas the herbie seems to have about half that at best (and because of that damn Volcano, my tolerance is rather high, making a whole herbie bowl and a bit of waiting (surprising given the time I save on the heatup) to really get medicated).

I do sometimes use the Whip so I can at least try and suck it all down at once, but even that isn't hitting as well as I'd like (and I do stir + use fan assist mode in between temperature increases, which starts at 370 and goes all the way to 420-445 at this rate). I'd probably like to inquire more hear/elsewhere about better whips, or at least a better whip connection (I am not very handy so I don't intend to try and make my own like others have, but rather wait for some official attachments/accessories...but yes, something in that regard would be nice to have).

^^
That rant about bowl size/functionality aside though, I always had a very high bar for the herbie beating out my volcano for me in sheer volume/functionality, for that very reason I always considered the herbie better for me to use for Dabs (since the only thing I have for that is a crappy pen). THAT, I am most certainly looking forward to....just wish I had some dabs at current..

You could have a leak/hole in the bag. If the bag is very sticky it may take longer to fill. If your over packing the bowl it will take longer to fill.

How many seconds does it run before turning off?

Try filling up multiple bags at once using different temperatures to get more medicated.

@spincut The fan is designed to automatically shut off after 85 seconds or something. This is to prevent the user from accidentally overfilling a bag. If your stock bags aren't filling up in less than 85 seconds, you're probably packing the bowl too tight or the screens need to be cleaned.

I can't relate to your issues regarding the bowl size, as it's plenty big enough for me. I can't even finish a full bowl in one sitting.

@didolgi That sucks man! Hopefully there's a quick turnaround. For anyone who has sent their Herbalizer in for service, how was the overall experience?

I must say, between my Herbie, my dr.dabber pen, and using a TI nail on my Rooster apparatus, I prefer dabs from the Herbie most. I feel it's more efficient ( which is nice cause oil down here can be stupidly expensive ) and I rather take my time to get medicated rather then the punch to the face a dab off a nail provides. And it's rather a bummer to see how fast the nail and pen build up residue after only a few grams of oil, yet my concentrate pad on the Herbie is still perfectly clean after all the oil I've thrown at it. I don't know anything about radiation but I know what works and the Herbie just works lol. I feel especially bad for all the abuse I've given it throughout the World Cup, and after Germany won it proceeded to hand out bags full of glory to everyone at the party, I probably could've flown to Rio I'm still so medicated lol

This gives me hope at least, I hope to get some dabs soon to see how the herbie will do, at the very least, as a dedicated dab setup (then I can start asking about accesories :p ) .

As for the fan shutting off, while it does seem slow, it was always kinda slow (compared to the volcano fan anyway). The screen don't seem dirty, I am packing the bowl just as much as I did before, and I don't "think" the bag has a leak, but I will check again. So yeah, a little unsure what's going on there.
