Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Problems happen in manufacturing regardless of the company or product. Look at the Playstation 4, Xbox 360.

I don't think slandering them as a company is fair. I live in Canada too, further away from where they ship in comparison to Quebec's location. If the unit is faulty, the only fee you'll have to pay is shipping to them. And it's worth it if you want the EVO.

"I just tell people thats if u want this unit just prepare to some serious headhache or to work perfectly .Look like a matter of luck to me"

That is unfair. The people experiencing problems in this thread are a minority already. There are plenty of people not on these forums that don't have any problems with their EVO. This vaporizer has already received more press in the media than I have ever seen. If getting a functioning EVO was about as likely as flipping a coin, I don't think VapeXhale would be getting the positive attention they are.

Do i live in an other planet??? cause a lot of u guys look like its normal to have to ship it back the product they just buy for 450..If i go at wal mart and buy a PS4 and its not working i will be piss cause i got to go back to the store. With the evo i have to send it back in the mail maybe once maybe more who know and pay 20 buck more each time..Yes i know im poor lol i just drop my last money on an EVO :)

to quote Drpiff :

I saw your earlier posts regarding low vapor output. I had to send my first EVO back in for calibration twice and I had to send my second EVO back once. I would be left with very tan vapor on max and the hits just werent as full as my Cloud+. They did get it right though and I can milk up any piece at 2 on the dial now.

i dont have the budget to start a shipping and reshipping strategy maybe its will work like a charm the first time i send it maybe not...

Well for sure its a minority...That would be a mess if 85 unit of 100 would not work...Im not saying thats the failure rate its near 50 pour cent not even near 35 but if its only 8 or 12 pour cent its still a lot for a high end product like this.

Anyway the journey for me with the EVO is over since i like i said earlier i will phone the company monday to get refund (will pay the fee if i have too). But im just letting people know my opinion and my experience with this vap...

@Jamesqc666 - we have a rule about how many times you can post about your problem (once) and you have exceeded it. Feel free to move on now.

Sorry it was not my intention to post just about my problems i was more looking to talk about the company in general but its hard to not talk about ur own problems in the sames time when u got one lol.I will respect the rules and dont post about it until i have major updates :).

The reason that vxl has been given a bit of "slack" as you have called it,
is because they did three things to recover form the original debacle.
  1. They completely re-designed the heating core (among other components) to make the evo much more serviceable, and not a throw-away like the chinese-made clouds are.
  2. They built a domestic manufacturing and service facility, from the ground up.
  3. I forgot, because my evo hits like a motherfucker since the firmware was updated!
  4. Oh yeah, something about all of the problems being on the chinese side...
:science:

VXL (and FXL) products have never been made in China.

You had to get an firmware update to get it work properly...
Yes I was part of the evo crowd-funding effort, and the firmware was finalized right before they shipped my unit out so it went back. A mere bump in the road compared to a completely unrepairable cloud.

Okay whoops my bad. I remember reading that some of the old cloud units were outsourced, and those were reportedly the ones with the most issues. What country were they outsourced to?

.

May I ask as a Canadian resident how much it cost in shipping fees to ship it for the warranty? Also how you shipped it?

I was one of the pre-orders post-indiegogo and mine has worked perfectly.

Although, this might be a good time to bring up that I've noticed the few times auto-shutoff was activated (maybe 3-4 times) the green light did not turn off, which I believe it's not supposed to do. Went for a hit and discovered a cool evo. Is this an issue? Hasn't really bothered me since I've started making sure I flip it off/on every 25-30 minutes, which is what you gotta do anyway. Just wondering if this could be part of a larger issue I'm not aware of. I believe mine was shipped after the firmware update as I got it in late jan or feb.

EDIT: Shipped 1/21/14. Serial no. 10451.
I should that my evo appears to heat up great. Gets pretty hot at 2-3 on the dial and hits like you wouldn't believe...well, unless you have one! :)

Maybe I'm just more tolerant: rather than be bummed about having to send it in, I was joyous that this company stood behind its product and replaced, my unit. They didn't quibble, they did not claim I abused the unit. Was it fast? We are on separate sides of the USofA: we both shipped ground, yadda, yadda yadda: maybe not so fast. And that is why, my good friends, I bought my 2nd EVO at 4-20. I found it hard to live without one. Frankly, I think it is magic that VapeXhale gets high heat and electronics to work at all. Usually that combo is a bad thing. But there are many fine ways to vape.

I'll just interject here for a moment. My EVO is serial number 10011 from the Indiegogo campaign. I believe that is number 11 off the line. My EVO has worked perfectly and continues to do so since day one of receiving it.
I'm with you man I have EVO 10008

It's weird that Seibo used the word "outsourced", to me it usually means overseas.
So the fakes are coming out of PA? Hope that gets resolved soon.
It's been resolved for a while. The FXLs were really just leftover inventory that the manufacturer had when they parted ways with VXL.

I'm getting a ready to ship an HT back to them now and it's costing me about $21 to ship via CanadaPost with tracking.

It's normal for shopping online. If you get something as ordered and it works, then great! If not, shipping it back for replacement or refund is the risk you accept when you buy it.

Well the Cloud EVO comes threw once again. I have medical issues (Crohn's) and right now I'm having a severe cold with bad chest pain and lots of coughing. Yesterday I used the unit at 3pm and my lungs were tortured. And it hurt. Right now I'm up cause I can't sleep. I set the unit to 1pm and the hits are a lot more tolerable and was able to do what I needed. It's not as dark as my usual ABV but it did the trick without ripping my lungs up.

God I love this thing.

Uhm... What?!?!

Dude, what are you on? The Cloud was a smashing success. Hence the EVO.

Wow. I need some of what you're vaping. Must be super strong.
Tbh, I kinda see it as the cloud was a moderate failure, hence the EVO

They designed it without thinking of the ability to repair a faulty unit (or at least that wasn't their focus), then got themselves involved with what turned out to be a dodgey manufacturer, and really, (IMO) the end of the clouds lifecycle was a shitstorm...

The units themselves perform smashingly (with the exception of units that need firmware adjustments), but if I was looking at the original cloud project as a whole, from my position with the limited info I have, I wouldn't consider it a smashing success...

After taking the cloud apart a few times I can see where @Jamesqc666 and @Frederick McGuire are coming from. The unit is made kinda crudely. Glass is held with pressure with the insulation material to keep it from moving, not the most secure design so when its attached to bubbler it can make a loud screeching noise as either the glass is scraping against the insulation (has some rough particles) or its scrapping against the metal shell. Things are just not put together how I would expect them considering the cost. Design of heater is innovative yet also poorly executed (leads fall off).

I feel like alot of time had to go on in the testing/innovation but not as much time was spent on manufacturing.

With that said, I forget everything above when I use the cloud. Its just so impactful and potent. So in that regard I can see where @Vapinghole is getting at. Designwise its pretty impressive. And from what I have heard the cloud evo is everything the cloud should have been, its just a solid upgrade in basically every way. I think because of how well the unit preforms people are willing to cut them some slack, the temperature regulation works really well, all glass, all in a slick unit.

And yes im using it right now

I find it coincidental that JamesQC666 has so many complaints about the EVO, and he has QC basically quality control and 666 afterwards like he is out to destroy someones QC reputation. I state this also because for a company with such an outstanding reputation to go above and beyond to assuage there disgruntle customers, I'm puzzled with those who act as though there is nothing that can be done to make them happy with their purchases. It makes your whole presence here questionable. I mean we are talking about a company where when you have problems you get a personal phone call from the owner/C.E.O.
I 'm just saying:hmm::shrug::2c:

Pretty funny post there :) Qc stand for québec city :p.Im just talking about my whole experience about the EVO (ive own multiple vap including the cloud and just have good thing about it tho said).Pretty funny how you got crucifix when you said bad thing about company here..There not just a good side and i think the good and the worse should be told. When you saying i had so many complaint about the company i think its kind of unfair since i was just trying to discover what happen with my unit and if the problems could be deeper..
