air cured bud vs water cured bud in solo = 5:2 ..or so....!

did some air cured bud for the first time in my solo and wow...... now I know what harshness means that I read about in here.....

I only have water cured herb the past months (since I bought my solo), I set it to 4-5. very mild to no harshness at all.
but with the air cured herb a draw @5 is almost impossible...! I had to go as low as 2 at first then 3 later.

same high, same amount of draws, clearer taste.....basically it's all the same except the harshness.
I think I got so used to the water cured-herb , that the air cured herb seems smelly almost stinks.....

my mflb I had used the past years ,wasn't even close compared to the solo set @2 both with air dry herb...

many people will argue that water curing isn't as good.....etc...
I dare everyone to try it out, they will be positively surprised.

Use a water tool to help with any harshness. I usually get very nice flavor with my Solo. I use temps 4 and 5. Some cannabis is harsher than others. Have a little ice water available to drink.

I get mine at dispensaries now, so I get some very nice top shelf product. If it's harsh I turn my heat down. I've had some real nice flavorful flowers lately. I can ask the bud tender to give me something for pain and anxiety. I've been trying to keep track of what works the best. Im keeping a diary.

I feel like a kid in a candy store at the dispensary. Gone are the days - when i would get what I would get and that's it.:leaf::peace:

Saturday is clean glass day!
Maybe a overnight soak.
looks like it's a simple GonG PHVES and a JHOOK tonight.
I haven't vaped outside of my house in a very long time.
I hate being stressed.
How can people medicate in public?
Bro, meditate or do something to get grounded. You'll be ok. But if it's too much for then do not push yourself.

I'm enjoying some God's Gift this evening. It's starting to cool down a bit. Here is the Black Wood Wong with the turquoise inlay from our friend Ed an FCer with a lot of talent. Thank you Ed. I really enjoy the wood. That's a 14 mm.

Thank you very much. Man I can not wait.:tup:Nice set up.

Maybe I'm just paranoid?
Well heck the NSA knows everything already. But I feel you. I get paranoid at times. It's human nature.

When using the solo, I'll probably only be taking 1 or 2 hits since my tolerance is low and its way more potent than smoking. Can i leave the rest of the bowl in the solo and just turn it off, or do i have to take it out and store it somewhere? Thanks :)

Anybody heard of the solo heating up to the desired temp, then dropping to 1 only to heat back up and repeat? The red heat light goes on and then the red charge light flashes as well, even though it is fully charged, it alternates randomly between those two red lights. I'm guessing maybe the battery might be dunzo. Just randomly started happening and now the solo isn't even usable. I bought it in August 2012 from PIU, it's the M1A3 model.

Ataxcian,
I vape in public. Just walk around to diffuse the smell.:myday:

I'm not so sure about this, we've got a whole class of people downtown, living in parks and vacant lots and stuff that smell just awful no matter how fast they pass you.......

Maybe I'm just paranoid?

Naw, no less a sage than Doctor Johnny Fever (WKRP) explained this, "everyone really is out to get you, paranoia is just good thinking....".

I'd have thought you knew that?

Yup, the red charge light flash is a big clue, dead battery seems to be the cause, replacement the solution. It might 'charge normally' but it is collapsing under load.

How does your unit do on a PA? Just fine, I bet?

So I've had this guy sitting around for a while now:
Different connection and slightly smaller wire.
will they splice without problems?

Electrically that's right, but I seriously doubt mechanically it is (too tall). Have you tried to fit the battery into the Solo?

Otherwise, yes, you can solder or otherwise splice the old connector on the new pack. Watch the wire colors (Solo polarity on the connector is 'backwards') but if you do you should be fine. Do one wire at a time, and insulate well, an accidental contact with the PCB under the battery would probably be spectacular, but surely will be fatal.

Good luck.

I have always had extreme paranoia about this as well, even way back in high school when no one seemed to give a shit.

Now that I have my card, and a diagnosed condition for which I am medicating, I plan on taking my Solo out and about once a while. Like any fear, it is probably best faced gradually, and while I still get a little nervous thinking about it, now that I have all legal aspects of my usage covered I figure: what's the worst that could happen?

I just got my Solo today, So far everything is going great except for one problem. My blue idle light is always on, everything works fine but this. My solo is a model number M1Y if that helps at all.

Nvm, I'm just dumb...

Jack, even when your Solo is turned off the blue idle light stays on? The blue light will be on while your using the unit so that would be normal. It sounds like it won't turn off. Press the top two buttons for a couple seconds. That should turn your Solo off. If it doesn't turn off there is a problem. You will need to contact whoever you bought your vape from.

When I first got my medical license I was more open. However I'm more and more just vaping alone and in private.

I'm scared to vape out side my home!

You're better off using your pen vapes in public . And you have a few ...
They're so prevalent these days , no one bats an eye .
And with all the flavor types attys , you can use your shatter without
too much detection . I see a lot of people using it in their cars also.
It's water vaping in public , that's what I want . But way too noticeable .

I've never had to purchase a power adapter, but I'm guessing it is the battery and it'd work fine if I had it plugged into a PA. So bummed, now I gotta find a replacement haha.

Cleaning glass today.
PHVES with CHILLUM tip today.
GSC very decent medicine

How many sessions are you guys getting per charge? I'm averaging about 3-4 starting off at lv 4 and ending at 7. Is this normal for the M1Y's?

Spyguy, read over the instructions at the beginning go the thread. It talks about features and temps etc...Go over the thread and read the last 20 pages or so. That might help.

Do the initial charge to the solid green light. Do a couple burn offs at temp 7. After cooling use a iso wipe down with a qtip and you are good to go. You can grind some quality herb or not. You don't have to grind. It's personal preference.

Relax and enjoy the flavor and the mood.

From the time that your Solo flight starts to lifts off until you land, your journey will be a satisfying experience. You will look forward to the next flight. Have a wonderful vaping experience.
Thanks for that, just ordered it today

It could be, depending on how hard you're hitting it and how far you discharge. IMO way too many variables to make an accurate measure.

Instead, I suggest fully charging the battery (until the light goes solid), then to back to back 12 minute sessions on step 7 with the top open, no stem, in still air, standing up. I've done this dozens of times in a number of Solos and think it's about average to get 8 sessions or so ('a session per light'). That is two on step 7 and finally you should get none trying to start session 8 or 9?

This is, I think, about as uniform as we can make it. It should give you a feel for how your battery condition is relative to 'everyone else'. Once you drop say two sessions from that you're on borrowed time. The pack could go from 'PITA' to flat out useless in a few charges even. We tend to be pretty demanding, really.

The battery on my Solo lasts about 7 to 8 - 12 minute sessions, using heat levels 4 and 5. My Solo is about 6 weeks old. I am starting to see chipping and cracking going on with the bottom plate where the screws are. I didn't even notice and all of a sudden I see a piece by the edge of the bottom has chipped off. It is cracked in another area I see. What's with these low quality plates on the bottom?

My older model has never had any problems with the bottom plate chipping or cracking. The Solo I needed to send back in May due to a faulty battery had a chipping bottom plate too.

I have the old technology SOLO.
It works great actually. I use it until it dies then I'll buy a new one when need be.

I did notice when I use the PHVES stem on level 4 I use the whole 12 minutes. With water I use 6 or 7 minutes. I have some vaporizers that are way more powerful however I don't need the power sometimes.
For this reason the SOLO is the perfect medication device for me. Do whatever works in your case!
