The issue with the ssv aroma tops is there's different versions and compatibilities. If you have the standard heater cover you can use any of the dishes, if you have a different cover you will need the new style.
Not to be confused with the really old style setup, which was another can of worms altogether:worms:
And if you are using the oil kit you're out of luck, that's an island (compatible with nothing else).

You Must Unlearn, What You Have Learned...
Are the refurbed units from 7th Floor typically pretty good? I haven't seemed to heard too many complaints, why I ask! Thinking about maybe asking them about one for a gift for a friend. :]

Also, has anyone used the aroma top oil diffuser thing? I googled for reviews and such and only found a few FC threads which only had like two posts each (one saying reviews were mixed due to the angle of the SSV, other one said it worked fine). To those who've tried it, did only the waxes/oils from 7th Floor work well or could I order some off Amazon? Sorry if there's a better subforum, didn't find one if there is!
Yes the aroma top not only works well with most wax tarts and essential oils. I found that it also helps to keep the unit warmer, requiring slightly less power than usual after warm up.

never knew that but I figured it might keep it a bit warmer.

My goodness, I'm definitely going to have to recommend Tweak's mod. After a swap to the mini wand with the basket screens, I'm getting ridiculous vapor. With the bong mouthpiece replacement I'm able to bong it with ice, and I'm getting just absurd vapor production off like ~0.05g. It's absurd!
I agree... plus it fits right into an ssv hose, and the underdog screens I stocked up on couldn't fit any more perfectly. I just got it dialed in with my ssv that always has the aroma top going, they are now synchronized to the same temperature! It's not quite as heavy-hitting as my old favorite the standard gg setup, but still quite satisfying, much more economical, and no stirring necessary so I'm quite pleased with it.
@Tweak, do you know if these wands are available separate from the whip/mouthpiece? Because they don't seem quite as durable as the 7th floor wands, I wouldn't mind grabbing a backup.

The only place I know to get them at all is Vaperwarehouse, and it looks like they are on back-order. They used to carry just the wand, but I'm still thinking they where $19.

Was hoping JoDa Glassworks could make me a worked one, I sent him a standard SSV HC several months ago. But I think he has his hands full with nano orders and maybe a SSV wand is harder to make than I thought.

I've been fortunate lately with my supply, so the SSV has been back to my main driver. I'm so glad I didn't think of getting rid of it when I bought the VXC.

I found that it also helps to keep the unit warmer, requiring slightly less power than usual after warm up.

I tried but my warmer just gets in the way, but I think my standard HC is just smaller than most. Before I got the warmer I used to try using foil, :tinfoil: <---- SSV. :D

It says that but... I had one on back-order somewhere else (vn), and after a week or so I ordered from vw to make it a race. Vw immediately sent me a shipped notice, so I canceled the first order. It was a negligible price difference anyways, so I would say that vw is the way to go even with the extras.

Over on the e nano thread I am being more convinced that the e nano might be a better choice than the SSV...

Any SSV lovers over here that prefer the SSV over the Nano? Why? The only negative I can find is the whip taste...

I don't prefer one to the other, I'm just playing devil's advocate. I use each 50/50 anymore, fun to have options.

The issue I have with the e-nano is the diameter and depth of the bowl in the stem is very small, 10mm wide X ~15mm deep(depth varies), which will restrict the draw if you try and add too much. So it forces you to use smaller loads, which isn't really a bad thing if you need to conserve, ;). The nano is truly an efficient extracting machine, as when it forces the draw speed to stay lower it makes the ABV pretty dark.

But sometimes I just prefer a really huge cloud that chokes me up, and the SSV can only deliver that for me. Plus with the open flow of the SSV's wider wand diameter, deeper bowl, plus stronger heater (60 W), it can fill my bigger bubblers faster with ease and really get the perc firing like they are designed for.

I start drawing @ 3 seconds, bubbler is filled by the 7-8 second mark. And this is the Mobius Clear Matrix, a 65mm can.

Either one you choose is a winner in my book.

thanks for the video.
what adapter are you using on your bubbler that fits the SSV tubing and where did you get it?

Hey. I'm thinking about getting a SSV. Anyone know if there are any deals, coupon codes, etc. at the moment?

you can buy them on ebay for about $180 for a brand new one.
but on SSVs website it says it will not honor the warranty for those who bought on ebay.

there may be better deals out there though, thats just what I've seen

This was last sunday, if it's over they should still have blems at a discount.

yeah, that was the best deal but if you're picky about color and other things it could end up costing your more than on ebay.
it all depends on what you want.

there are lots for sale on ebay. here is one.

Is this the best GG water pipe attachment for the ssv?

anyone recommend something else?

@New_World - Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm not so sure about eBay. I don't want to have to worry about my SSV being a fake.

I have been looking at the "reclaimed" SSVs. @KidFated. recommended that to me the other day. You're right about them getting expensive if you want any customizations. That's actually why I was checking to see if there were any codes for a discount on the "normal" SSVs. After selecting a GG connector and a carrying bag, you're getting pretty close to the regular retail price for a SSV.

Earlier today I almost pulled the trigger on this one.

http://www.rakuten.com/prod/silver-surfer-gg-hands-free-vaporizer-silver/219615933.html

Then I read the most recent reviews from Vapobuy, which stopped me in my tracks. By far the worst comments/ratings that I have seen for a seller. Definitely not for me.

I'll continue my search. Thanks guys.

Hit up vapornation for a dbv with gg connection? Then you get the bag still! Discount code FC16 and free shipping. Oh and avoid rakuten :)

While I absolutely love my Nano, my SSV has been on 24/7 for 4 years..... and is always ready for a hit.. 24/7!
The standard wand holds 4 to 5 times the amount of meds for when you want that denseness for it's fast heavy medicating effect.
Keep a clean whip.
A whip regularly cleaned and seasoned stops smelling.
Ask any of the members that have been to my home. My SSV/DBV whips are old, stained, and yet spotless and odor free.

I'm not sure what you mean by "whip taste." the biggest difference IMO will be session length. Enano has a smaller bowl so the session will be shorter. Ssv has a bigger bowl so longer sessions.

Some people say the whip effects the taste.
