Discontinued Elevape SV

The sound of vapor
I got an urge and ordered one yesterday. :freak:

Risky move as I live across the ocean and this seems to be a beta version, I hope I won't have to send it back for readjustment/maintenance/replacement; but first let's see how long it'll for USPS to send it over here and for the customs to let it go through.

Nice to see another member get in on this one! I can honestly say this vape is exactly what I have been hoping for. After my 2 weeks or so of use the only single con for me is the fact you have to stir 2-3 times per load to evenly cook. And that takes 2 seconds per stir, very very minor downside IMO.

Now that I'm using it in my routine with my dr dabber pen I am getting a full days use out of one charge! I wake up with a packed sativa bowl, drive in to work with a sativa kief sandwhich, a couple bowls at work and the drive home, and use it before bed with an indica on level 19. I unplug in the morning and plug back in after my night time indica bowl.

Pros-
-Tastes great for the first 8 or so rips
-clouds on command
-small enough to pocket with a Jyarz
-cleanable to absolutely brand new in 5 minutes
- easiest/fastest vape I've used to unload and pack a new bowl
- little draw resistance
-Efficiency is the name of the game, and this vape does it better then all the rest IMO
- capable of a large temp range
- good battery life
- always ready when you are!!
- one sneaky sob! Take a small little puff to be sneaky or blow out massive a clouds when you don't have to worry about it. It gives you what you want when you want it
-MADE IN AMERICA
-great customer service
- I only need to clean once a week and that's putting about 1-2grams a day

Cons-
- stir 1-2 on lower temp bowls. And 2-4 times for a higher temp even cook...
- I clean the top bowl screen in ISO every couple days, or just swap it out to a new screen. (I guess this is a con? Haha definitely not an issue for me)

Honestly that's all I can think of at this point that's a negative. This vape is more then I could have hoped for, I thought I might find something else with more use but it's just getting better as I nail down my technique and grind. This has officially cured my VAS, I don't need anything else period.

If there are any cons you guys are worried about feel free to ask, I'll post some pics showing how I'm sure it's nothing to worry about;)

Happy 4th of July!!

Hi guys, Im trying to get VAS so I follow a few treads. I cant help but see similarity in the heat adjusted by airflow here and in the herbalizer.

In theory, are they equal in terms of "heat adjusted based on your air pulling flow" technology? I understand yes, but I wanted others opignon and be corrected if need be. (specially @Ipuffusa, if your manufacturer restrictions allows you to enlighten me correctly)

I understand the herby has bigger airflow possible, so herby>elevape. But with same small mouth piece without fan assist, I see herby=elevape IMHO

edit: I think nothing is missing now to be understandable :smug:

I haven't had the chance to try an herbie, but I was under the impression the one of herbies big selling points is it's super accurate temp gauge and no matter how you hit it it would stay at the same temp? I could be wrong but I've seen people say they turn it up just a degree or 2 and get a whole new spectrum of vapor. Where as with the SV the airflow is a major factor. With a slow pull of 19 I can combust, but with a solid pull I get a perfect dark chocolate color. Definitely some similarities between the two though. And the SV heats up faster:D

Tx for the correction. I needed someone in the know's intervention to clear this one out.

If I had to start indulging in VAS today, it would be with the elevape. Instant heat for max sneak a toke capacity looks nice. Still playing the waiting game for now

Hey everyone,

I've been lurking for months now, and during the last couple of weeks almost exclusively this thread. I'd like to thank you guys for contributing, the long reviews and pictures especially are much appreciated.

I think the elevape is probably the closest thing out there in terms of what I wanted to see in a stealthy portable vaporizer...I'm mainly referring to its instant heat up time.

Honestly, every practical bone in my body is telling me that for my next stand alone vaporizer I should stick with the more tried and true one usually suggested by FC members, especially since I currently live on a tight budget. However, I'm really leaning towards the elevape despite as mentioned earlier, it essentially being a relatively expensive "beta product". Here's why:

A) I feel that thanks to you guys, I'm well informed of its cons and find them to be an acceptable risk.
B) Being part of the FC community means that if any issues do occur, then my loss as a "beta user" can at least be a gain for the FC community
C) A and B are really excuses for me to buy something I know I shouldn't on my budget right now.:D

Vapornation, has 20% off right now, and I'm thinking I probably won't find it for cheaper anytime soon, so might as well pull the trigger on it now. Will update you guys, and thanks again!

Peace

My thoughts on the Elevape Smart:

This is my first portable vaporizer. My only other unit is a Vapir Rise that is used primarily for filling bags. My wife and I are pleased with the Rise, but I wanted a portable for on-the-go use and for a quick vape at bedtime, etc. I chose the Elevape because it seemed to have quick heat up times, was easy to clean, and I like the form factor. I use REO box mod ecigs for nicotine and no one will have a second thought when seeing me using this.

REO Mini 2.0, Elevape, REO Grand

I received my unit on Monday, downloaded the app, and charged as per instructions. To be honest, at first I was not impressed. The unit is well made, and very solid/sturdy to hold. It was easy to load, but the draw was terribly tight. I felt like I was drinking a thick milkshake through a thin straw. The light would come on as soon as I started, but would blink and shut off just as I started feeling like I was actually inhaling anything. The double inhale trick of letting up for just a moment before starting again helped a little bit. On the highest factory setting, I was exhaling the tiniest amount of vapor.

Being my first portable, I was unsure if this was normal or not. I was feeling the effects of my herb, but not in any great amount. And, it just plain wasn’t very enjoyable to use.

So, I tried it like this for a couple of days to see if I would become used to it. Finally on Thursday I emailed Joe at ipuffusa to see if there was any way to loosen the draw or to see if I was doing something wrong.

I received a reply within a half hour. Joe asked me to give him a call when I had the unit in front of me. I was at work, so over the course of few email exchanges, we set a time for yesterday morning. Yes, he wanted me to call on the morning of July 4th. I think the quote was that he wanted me to be able to enjoy my new toy ASAP. I consider that going above and beyond in the name of customer service!

I called as planned and we checked to make sure the unit was functioning correctly. He told me how to loosen the draw. I will not go into details here as it involves something that might void the warranty. If you need this information, it would be best if you contacted them yourself. We also played with the temp settings on the app.

We discovered that my herb is a little moist for the factory settings. I keep mine in a Cvault with a 62% Boveda packet. Setting number 13 is perfect as a starting point. I had lots of practice draws to tune this in. I am guessing that my end of the conversation wandered considerably by the time we were done. So, cudos to Joe for his patience there at the end.

Now the unit is performing exactly as I had originally hoped. I am VERY pleased with both my purchase and with the company’s customer service. It made my family get together much more enjoyable yesterday afternoon. I have no reservations recommending the Elevape Smart to anyone.

How does it pair with water?
Is there a after market GonG?

No one I know has put it through water yet, I'll try to find some silicone today to try and get one going. Kaptan's version looked good but I believe he is still waiting on his unit to return from repair. And no gong yet, but I will ask joe if they have any plans on one... @Ipuffusa ?

Just got back from a weekend of camping, and as expected the smartvape performed great. Everyone loved the thing and a few people were very adamant about getting information to buy one. By the end random people came up and asked to hit my "magic black box" that they heard about lol.

I've seen a few posts looking for good camping vapes, and once again this thing is great. No glass or plastic to worry about breaking just an anodized aluminum box. And as for being away from power for a few days... Best combo ever, lotta power in a small package
HkZvn0P.jpg

With the anker 15000mah external battery it should be able to charge the 1200mah smartvape battery 12 times:)
I could vape through an ounce of herb in 12 charges for sure.

And just so we all understand how small this vape actually is compared to some others, here is the SV and solo... And a Gatorade bottle because it was on the counter anyway

That's quite a nasty solo stem you have! :)

The fact you can use your external battery via the USB port is clearly a plus! I hate having to depend on the availability of a power outlet.

The Elevape seems to be pretty good overall, the only downside (for me) is like for the Haze: the number of temp settings is too limited. At least on this one you have the software to change them but it sounds like a hassle I would like to avoid. But I'm sure you guyz are fine with it.

That's what happens when you get a SV, you stop paying attention to your other portables;)

I actually haven't hooked up to the app in over a week. Since I've found my 3 favorite temps I don't really feel the need to change then. But then again I usually only used 3 settings on my solo and pnp so it suits me perfectly. But the app is extremely simple just the downside of having to hook up to a CPU. You can hook up to the app and change the settings in under 30 seconds easily though. And you can change the temp of the air a bit with changing how fast/slow you pull

This thing has made me a lazy vaper, since it's so easy to use and I can get the high temp extraction I haven't been using my cloud+ much around the house anymore. Not that it blows clouds like the cloud+ but still gets me where I need to be quickly of I want

While the power light comes on when using during charging, does it cause any degradation of the battery life?

Joe told me there is no issue with using it while charging. It just stops charging when it turns on, and they are working on it being able to charge and heat up simultaneously

I emailed the company with some questions. The rep responded quickly. I thought that I'd share the information here. I wonder why this unit is not getting more attention. Seems like a very discreet, durable, and safe portable. I'm love to hear more reviews and pros/cons. In the mean time, I'm saving up for one.

Elevape Smart is the most sophisticated portable vaporizer on the market today, precision machined entirely out of anodized aluminum ( no flimsy plastic parts) The unit uses a titanium alloy coil controlled by a micro processor that monitors the glow given out by the heating coil 100 times a second, and adjusts the temperature to airflow ratio during draw. The unit comes preprogrammed with 3 temperature settings but it can be fine tuned via our exclusive app that can be downloaded from our website, allowing for optimal efficiency without combustion at any moister content. Please find the answers to your questions below and don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of any further assistants.
1. Are all the products and the air path medically safe? Does the air path go through the electronics?
Yes the air path and all materials used in the construction of the unit are safe, there are sensors thru out the unit that detect any excess temperature and shut the unit down with an error massage if there is an issue , the breath sensor in the air path is CE listed.

2. Because inhaling triggers the unit, is the temperature lower for the first few seconds of inhalation?
No , the unit houses a 6 cell lithium polymer battery pack with a 20 C discharge rate providing the heating element with enough power to heat up in a fraction of a second, so it will reach the desired temperature INSTANTLY .

3. Is the heating element and the temperature detector delicate? Can the unit withstand being dropped?
The unit is made out of aircraft grade precision machined aluminum and fits together with minimal tolerances, we have made numerous drop test, as a meter of fact we had a Dodge Ram 1500 drive over it, we dusted it off and used it :-)

The main con is cleaning the screen on the cap. It's easy to do and they give you extras so you can swap em instead of cleaning. A dirty screen has a harder draw. My second con is loading the bowl without getting debre into the air channels which can clog the screen in front of the mouth piece. Again not that big of a deal but will be tricky to load on the chairlift. Stirring might be the third con. But I like stirring since the subsequent hits are tasty!

The pros are how easy and fast it is to take a hit. No waiting ever which streamlines the process. Can get big clouds and great heat control. Black, made in USA and precision machining. Much better high then my mflb with PA.

the Pax is definitely more sleek in the pocket. The EV is just much better with hit it and forget it. The Pax keeps on cooking while the EV waits patiently for the next inhalation. I would take my Pax out on the water
simply because I don't want to lose my EV in the drink. The EV in its case is more pocket friendly due to the rounded corners and flatter profile. Just wish the software app was available for Mac, fuck Windows!
I have been using my EV on setting 1 since it came back from rehab, no idea of the temp range. Come on software guys!!!!

Making it a phone app would be great, for me anyways. For instance I don't usually bring my laptop to my weekend at the sand dunes, but today I will be. I'm getting an herbalizer oil pad today from a buddy to bring for testing and need to crank it up to max to see what happens. Hopefully delicious, sneaky, convection oil hits:science:

Also my sister, her husband and 3 kids are coming for this trip, super religious and not super down with the green. I only get to see them once a year maybe though so super stoked on that. But will definitely be thanking god I have my sneak-a-vape:ninja:

I've had my ESV a few weeks, and this is one stealthy vape! Being a mac guy and unable to adjust the heat settings, I was just using at 3 with decent results. Last night however I had a session while adjusting on a friend's PC, and...WOW!!! The app couldn't be simpler and worked great. Maybe I'm just a high-temp vaper, but changing the default settings made a huge difference. My buddy & I settled on 18/22/26 which seemed to give us the best results for the strain used. I may not need it often, but agreed a mac/ios/android version would be great!

As others have said, the unit will require some stirring to get an even cook. Not the end of the world, but an inconvenience nonetheless. The design looks pretty flawless except for the screw that holds the top screen. Since your materials sit on this screen during use, eventually the screw will get hot and most likely create some conduction. I tried removing the screw and used a regular screen instead. I think it cooked more evenly but not sure. Perhaps there could be a redesign of just the lid that was threaded on the outside of the screen like a faucet aerator, but with slits on the side to let air through. Regardless, this is a great vape and well worth the money!

For herbalizer owners, I found the easiest way to clean the top screen of the ESV is to just drop it in an empty herbie bowl and turn it to max with the fan...hit this if you like!
