Looking for suggestions for Desktop Vape

Hey guys. I've been using my Solo for a couple of months and have discovered that it doesn't work well for me right now. I've got a problem with my thoracic spine, which leads to pain when I lift things - unfortunately even something as light as the Solo.

I'm starting to look at desktop vapes in the $200 range, ones that use a whip, bag, or both. I haven't tried either one recently, so hopefully a whip without a huge glass piece attached to the end will be within my range. I can't see a full bag being very heavy either.

So far I've been looking at:

DBV
SSV
Arizer Extreme Q
Vapor Brothers Hands-Free version

I eliminated the VB because of comments I've read about the angle of the heater. If I'm spending $180 on a vape, I don't want to deal with that.

The Extreme Q I'm not so sure about now after reading a few reviews. The fact that it can do a whip and bags makes it look very interesting to me, but if it does neither one very well my money is probably better spent elsewhere.

The SSV and DBV both look cool, but the DBV is probably more in my price range.

Any others that you guys can recommend? Or any comments about the ones I've looked at so far?

The Herbalaire might be a good fit for you.

Or my personal favorite is the EpicVape Nano - though I usually vape through a bubbler which involves picking up the nano (don't know how much pain that would cause you)

The thing I like about the nano is the price and the amount of heat it provides - you can literally hit as hard or long as you want and the Nano keeps up!

(For what it's worth, I believe people say the DBV has the same internals as the SSV)

From the videos that I have seen, the e-Nano is used similarly to the Solo, right? Looks like a really nice vape, but I can't pick it up like that.

I hadn't considered the Herbalaire. The couple reviews that I saw of it didn't sound too hot. I don't know if I like the idea of having a separate fan unit. Thanks for the idea though.

The Nano can be used like the Solo in that you can put it on a bubbler and hit that (I never hit mine with a dry stem). But I gotcha, too much effort.

The thing that you might like about the HA is that it's extremely durable, and it can handle whole unground nuggets. I think the Herbalaire is a step up from the ExtremeQ (someone who's used both please comment, as I have not had access to either just yet). The external airpump is optional - you do not need to use that unless you want to fill bags or use a fan-assisted vaping. I can see how that could be a PITA (and this was my concern as well).

The DBV is a very solid unit all around. Can be left on for years, and a clean air pathway. It was my first quality vape, and never failed to satisfy me.

You can also get "reclaimed" ssv's for about the same price as a regular dbv. Mine shipped today

Sounds like it might be exactly what I'm looking for. Where do you get a reclaimed one from?

Oh never mind that last question. Found it with a google search for refurb ssv. Thanks for the suggestion!

@KidFated. - Hey, let me know how that refurb SSV turns out for you. It'll be interesting to hear what cosmetic (or other) issue it has.

What options did you go with? Any upgrades?

No upgrades, I'll take whatever they send me. They say they send whatever heater over they have most on hand of.

My buddy has a black dbv that is a refurb,only flaw was a scratch by the dial. Who cares, IMO!

Cool. I was just curious because if I order one I will need to spend $20 extra for the ground glass connector. IMO that looks like the better option for hands-free use.

I'm curious, how heavy is your MFLB compared to the Solo? If its much lighter, it might be interesting for me to try out.

I was gunna suggest that just for you! I would email them an see if they can maybe just hook you up with ground glass, because that would be better for your condition..

Mflb? It's light as a feather!! Solo was a brick..
