City of trees.
Small world! I'm bout 25 minutes away, recognized the odd concentrate box - funny story actually, a friend of mine was contacted on instagram by the owner of that extract company. He invited her to hang out and when she came back she had like 5 of those boxes (which she got for free, fuckin girls man) and I got to try all of em. Definitely some bomb wax

Ha I could totally see that going down like that when you're "The Guy". The boxes are a good match with using parchament. I'm getting tired of the round nongoo containers.

Been picking up my concentrates lately instead of making my own (which I have been doing for the better part of a year). The green stuff is some wax I got from a friend. Not that potent at all, and leaves residue on my nail most of the time. The orange wax is from Denver. It is more oily then the green wax. I still prefer the shatter or sap I make.

I'd seen waxes nearing that consistency, just not so...vomity looking.

Is that a sign of too much plant wax/fats/lipids or whatever they are called?

Not an extractor, just curious about ID'ing my waxes.

That's exactly what I told the dude. And he just kept telling me "headbands dude". Was so annoying. But I'd say yes it is plant waxes and chlorophyll. Don't taste any solvent. Since you brought up trim, the high totally resembles trim. I'm so used to doing only nug runs.

ok, so there needs to be more super light clear shatter here, and since I've been away for a little bit:

Apologies for being slightly out of focus, let's just say I was eager to sample before I took the pic.

So question guys:

Does this look like it compares to top shelf shatter from dispensaries in your town? I am trying to gauge the quality here which is difficult because there's nothing else around to compare to lol

It definitely looks like that to me, but in order to give you an honest and full assessment I would have to sample it.
I'll be glad to PM you my address if you wish. Lol.
No, seriously, that looks really good.

Top shelf can go up to 60/g. I've seen places that sell "Private Reserve" for 80/g before but never tried those.

The 30 dollar range in my region is crumble. That's for a gram.

The higher end is shatter. That stuff goes for 50 to 70 a gram and it's the clear looking stuff like what you're posting @herbivore21

The middle range is where the other waxes and oils reside. Usually not over 50 a gram. Taffy, budder, full melt, oil...I have not tried all of them.

Without trying it I can't say, but in my (limited) experience I would say it looks like you have a winner. You have to share your secret method!

Wow, this is interesting, so shatter is the most expensive concentrate in SoCal dispensaries then?

While we're at it, do dispensaries in other areas of Cali/other states also operate this way (ie: is shatter the most highly priced/sought after concentrate)?

Also thanks so much for the kind words everyone!! :D

Shatter would probably be most expensive everywhere (although I've paid more for supermelt) since it requires nug runs and above average extraction techniques.

The most expensive around here is solventless, doesn't look like shatter at all. It was being sold for $100.00 per gram just a couple of months ago, price has drop to around $80.00.
They are very secretive about the process.
One time I asked how it was obtained, and their response was " We have our personal unicorn, and we feed the herb to him, and what comes out of his rear is what you see here on display"
To what I said, " no shit!!"
Exactly! They responded," No shit!, just pure solventless goodness." Now, I don't know if that story was true, but that's what their pitch was to push this product at such an exorbitant price.

Edit: wait a minute, aren't unicorns a myth? And there's a thread for it already?

I strongly disagree. I've seen some trim run shatter more than once. I was looking for a pic to post, but I can't find it. I'm sure plenty of others have seen this too?

I don't believe shatter requires nug runs, it's just that the high end ones usually are, which is why they cost so much more. I've also seen trim run shatter multiple times. Those are still potent, just not as tasty imo.
