They are allowing people who invested in the campaign to purchase more 'Hoppers' or accessories. But, like pakalolo said, I doubt it would add up to any amount that would make the "scheme" worth hanging in for.

Shit...I wonder what these guys think about all the vitriol sent their way? So far, they have not done one thing that would be considered underhanded or "shady". I mean...I'm as big a fucking cynic as they come...but I've found nothing so far to raise my "I'm being scammed antennae". (Being behind schedule & having to rework some parts and scale up don't count).

If I were them, I'd probably be more worried about the amount of assholes that they will have to deal with on a daily basis as customers. (Hopefully, it's a small number). As of this moment, they seem to have more integrity than some of the people "accusing" them of imaginary crimes.

And at my age, I don't give a rat's ass if I have to eat crow at the end of this fucking rainbow. Been wrong before....always plan on being wrong again.

Guess you aren't remembering them shilling across multiple sites from a "allegedly a little brother", to promote this during their campaign.

Everyone screws up a little. That had nothing to do with whether they bring a viable product to market and everything to do with them being concerned that they got funded. I know a LOT of sales marketers that push the ethics barrier or even jump right over it. What they did seems like a small chump mistake...no one liked it, but most of us moved on from it...

As a seemingly fellow vapexhale user, I feel you should see the difference from a "mistake" or delay, and outright unethical behavior. If any company has set the standard as being forthcoming its VXL in regards to developing and releasing a revolutionary product, whereas Grasshopper had seemed to me to be anything but at this stage.

One only needs to check the old thread to see how involved stonemoney was during development as compared to zenpen/grasshopper

I consider SM and VapeXhale to be the ideal model for everyone. I love that company, their products and there ethos. No question there...

You're entitled to continue to grind that axe against the 'Hopper crew. They aren't perfect by any means, who is, but I'm done for now with our tennis match. Hope you're wrong about them, as most who have an investment in them would like. I'm clear on what is a mistake, delay or fault in ethos.

I'd like to wait and see how the product turns out, how they develop as a company and what kind of company they become. If I have an issue with the actual product, or if future shenanigans crop up, then I'll move on to other products and companies.

For now...you and others' that find them deplorable, can continue venting. I am moving to this mode...

I don't know, did you?

I don't follow their campaign. You could be right. Even if you are, I can't see them squeezing much more money out of it until they deliver a product.

I contributed but I don't really follow them. Not trying imply anything, but I can easily see them bringing in another 10-20% of their initial funding with follow-on orders. Seems substantial to me, but I guess you can look at it any way you want.

I've backed the project (out of enthusiasm and noobiness in vaping) and then decided not to post here until June/July as I was definitely not seeing the GH being released in spring; I guess I've been too optimistic.
Also I'd like to mention that I'm not too impressed with their updates as I see us backers ending up as beta testers whenever this will be out.
That said, you Grasshopeless people implying backers are delusional and keeping on bashing everything GH related got me depressed so I think it's time for me to have a 2nd break with this thread except this time I'll unwatch it as well.

Good luck to us backers and for the popcorn eating people: it seems some people that don't have anything to say will always have to say something, so enjoy the show.

There's a difference between healthy skepticism and outright negativity...

"I don't believe these guys, their claims are impossible, and it's probably a con."

I didn't say "healthy" skepticism but I don't think one can be a skeptic without being viewed as negative to those who are not skeptics, but I still haven't seen anyone here rooting for anyone's failure.

Damn it. This thread is just.... irresistable...

Agreed. I think just about everyone who has posted in this thread wants this thing to happen. The Grasshopper, in theory, is the answer to just about all our portable dreams.

But do you really think these guys are going to solve every single one of our portable problems in their first try? Just like that? You think these dudes are going to get it all figured out and whip it out by this Fall? Based on a video that, while maybe not shady, is sure as shit shitty. If I were an investor, I wouldn't invest a single goddamn fucking penny based on that video that seems to mean so much to so many.

I'm truly not hating. But I also truly don't understand vehemently defending a company that has shown little, if any, proof of validity as far as making a vaporizer is concerned, particularly a company that has never produced a vaporizer before.

We've all heard a lot of talk about how great the GrassHopper is supposed to be. Their updates, IMO, have failed miserably to show any sign of true progress. We just have to take their word.

How progressive! Them just assuming we'll take their word for it!

This is almost completely based on all talk, and no show. Unless you consider those pathetic videos a show.

Of course, they did move a bunch of stuff around that one room. They have all the pictures in the world to prove it.

But... maybe these guys are going to get everything lined up and ready to go in the next couple of months and deliver the perfect dream product their "investors" are wanting.

I'm not defending anybody. I'm just rooting for these guys

There has been a reasonable (imo) explanation for the lack of a decent video; all they built have so far are prototypes that can't perform like the production model (again, hopefully) will.

Maybe it's not a decent enough explanation for some others, but I'm okay with it.

edit: I'm rooting for the haze vaporizer as well,
even though I didn't make the decision to invest in it.
There's quite a few naysayers over there as well.

I think it's more of defending their purchasing decision rather than defending the company. When you question someone's purchasing decision, you are, in their minds, questioning their ability to make a wise decision, and that can lead to some pretty aggressive defensive measures, eh?

Anyway, I find this to be a pretty interesting thread that goes beyond just the vaporizer itself.

Hmm. Perhaps true. But in this thread, I get the feeling, and this is totally my opinion, that the whole Indiegogo, reach out to Trevor and he'll be more than happy to respond and sign you up for more of an "investment" within 24 hours, and also they're just cool dudes "fresh out of college," has played a fairly large role in it.

And I hear ya, guys. Honestly, I want the Grasshopper to be everything it's cracked up to be. Really, I do. But... all I've seen is a lot of promises... and a video of maybe possibly some dude vaping something... and those fantastic pics of stuff being moved around.

Really, dudes... is that good enough for you?

Interesting? I just read two pages of Gibberish bullshit!! Someone PM me when all the whining, speculation and unfounded conclusions regarding the Grasshopper are done.,then I'll return to the Grasshopper thread LOL....

I've seen pretty much the most interesting posts and opinions I've seen in weeks...

When you don't have time to edit, that's when you know it's good...

He said, before editing his post.... for typos of course.

At the end of the day, who cares? Ok one person has an opinion and did not find this conniving enough to invest in. Others did feel ok in investing.

People are allowed to have differing opinions just because you dont understand someones opinion does not make it wrong.

Same can be said for all the believers.

Also I'd like to mention that I'm not too impressed with their updates as I see us backers ending up as beta testers whenever this will be out.

So, in all honesty the first version of anything is basically the beta, we are getting it first most likely fully knowing that Version 2 will come out eventually(Hopefully with an upgrade option like the firewoods) At least with this if the company does ground itself and become a success we will have a life time warranty from what I recall.

I know fully that I am a beta tester, I put in less then a 100 dollars and another friends 100 dollars and we both fully know what we got ourselves into, to me its worth the risk.

I know I've said I'd be out of this thread again but since I'm polite I reply when I'm quoted.

Alpha version + design tweaks =>beta version
Beta version + QA => release version

I work in QA and we're being paid to test our products, not the opposite. And we stop testing it once we know the product is ready for release, yes there might be some tweaks that need to be done post release but that's only for very minor things and we don't leave them there on purpose, we test the shit out of our products because we want satisfied customers. We at times do open betas but we certainly don't ask for money to participate in those.

ì've backed a few projects via kickstarter and indiegogo now and everytime I had a finished product, not something that required me to give feedback to make things work, feedback to improve the product for a new version? yes at times, you can almost always improve things, but when you release a product it's meant to be final, the only thing I'm ok with it needing tweaking after release is a firmware.

That said I guess I'm stupid or masochistic as I've just ordered an elevape SV knowing it still needs quite some QA apparently (I hope it's only firmware wise though)... but I just wanted it, most likely because I want a convection vape and I stopped counting on the GH to be released "on time".

This is just my opinion, nobody needs to share it nor to judge it and I shall now retire from this thread for good and be a moody fuck in the elevape thread when/if needed. :bang:

There is no evidence whatsoever at this point that the GH the backers receive will be in any way unfinished or in need of further testing. Of course it is possible that this may be the case.
I know there's the attitude of FC being the final authority on all things vape related, but there is a possibility someone could release a perfectly functioning device without help from this forum.
