not a large hassle at all, to order is fine, it's just there's then longer shipping and the requirement to track down and then also to have always plugged in the correct step down thing (which also makes the device much larger and space is a factor which is why i like its small size) and that stem replacements and warranty issues must also be dealt with overseas. i do love the look of it though <3

Spaceboy I think you made a good choice for now leaning towards a solo it's a great unit to start your vaping Journey with. Since you have said price is no problem you can always pick up a nano or something else that catches your fancy down the line.

The solo is a pretty sweet little vape that does a big job, should serve ya well. :peace:

when i can figure out the unit to order, that is!
You're interested in some high priced vapes- miniVap, Volcano, Sublimator. I would absolutely not jump that high in price if you've never bought a vape. It's just not necessary. If you think you have a pay a lot to get high quality, I can assure that that's not the case. The e-nano is a good one and affordable, but it'll require a voltage converter and good luck finding the Foreign Country Return Policy he refers to on his site.

Da Buddah, herbalAire, and Vapolution are all good performing, dependable models you can find on everyonedoesit.com, and maybe other UK dealer sites as well. I've owned all three and can highly recommend them. The Extreme is also available at a decent price and like the herbalAire, it also gives you both direct draw and bag fill.

IMO I have a Cloud Evo and three Solos. I meant to have two Solos but ended up buying a third. I am very active and constantly travellig so while the Solo is not the most powerful vape I own it is super reliable and always with me.

The solo is a really excellent little vape and can hit hard. Some people who are used to lung inhaling think it's tricky to get used to mouth inhaling but if you don't get it right away you'll be fine. if i'm at home i'll use my evo and get blasted but if i'm anywhere else or even just walking around my place i'll pack up the solo and put it through probably 6-10 cycles a day.

Now for a desktop vape I don't have experiences with things like the Sublimator but from your choices I would go with the Evo. I have a hydratube but no bong. I dont like bongs and I use the Evo dry and thru the hydratube about equally.

I would recommend you look at the Silver Surfer (especially the blemished model $100 off) which can run 24/7 and near Cloud level quality of hits.

Volcano just isn't worth it in the year 2014 unless you are getting it used and love bags more than anything.

consider the herbalizer. it's efficient, will never smoke your herbs, is the Cadillac of the day imo. :)

Max also had a great point that you don't need a high priced unit to start, to see how you like vaping.

I love my miniVAP but a Solo may be a fine "starter" unit. I "thought" I'd really get into vaping and took a chance and went all out and bought the miniVAP. Worked out great cause vaping is the way to go, 100%. But you could wade in slowly and see about upgrading if you love it. Maybe depends on how sure you are that you will embrace it...

Hi..
If you're a heavy smoker, beyond recommending a vaporizer, I recommend you take a tolerance break (at least 3 days sober). Also, hold on to the 'quitting combustion' thing and actually stick with it... Your mind has to get used to getting high without getting fucked up, it takes a while for your mind to get that association right.

As far as "any price" vape goes, I'm definitely no expert, but I do lust for the sublimator or the volcano or the herbalizer.

BTW, consider buying glass for whatever vape you buy. You'll be able to take large and denser hits.

so on friday morning i realised i really wanted to get going in time for the weekend, and ordered a solo. today, 5 days after quitting tobacco, i have quit combusting altogether!

thankyou all for your help with this.

impressions:

tastes great from as low as 3, flavour sweet spot is 4, the sweet spot is 5, and then i do a quick burn at 6 until i get that popcorny taste and cbd-ish hit. 12 min is usually plenty for this.

still causes some lung tension after a day's use.

pipe gets dirty fast, added a screen on the glass side, which helps.

it feels a bit druggy visually, am wary about my daughter seeing me use it.

'smoked' indoors for the first time in years, felt wrong. smell quickly dissipates, but wonder if lingering particles will cause dust and problems to electronics like actual smoking would, as well as a general odor. will need more time to work this out, but may have to revert to vaping on the porch longterm.

like the different effects / flavours at different temps, it's quite exact.

wish there was an extra cover that hid the dirtier end of the pipe.

draw is not over restricted, i don't mind it, despite being slow. does seem to require large hits to work best, compared to rollups. 2-3 biggest hits are choking level from a 75% full bowl. i'll get used to it. lung / mouth after effects are better than the rolls, but during is actually almost harsher.
