Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Hey FC community, Im looking for a bit of help please and hoping you knowledgeable people will be able to help me! I spoke to the guys at Vapexhale earlier today and they told me they are in the final testing stages of the 220v version of the evo and hope to start shipping in the next couple of weeks (i live in the UK) so i will soon be able to get my hands on one of these at long last!

My question is what hydratube should i get? I sort of want a 'jack of all trades', one that performs pretty well in all areas (diffusion, taste, flow) and doesnt lean heavily in one area. Im sorry if this has been discussed earlier in the thread as i started at page 1 and have only got to page 77 so far. After doing a bit of homework i think the best 2 that would suit my needs are the the swagger shower cap or the circ.

What do you guys think? am i on the right lines or completely wrong (i know vapes but totally new to glass). Anything else i should take into consideration? Any other thoughts or ideas? Anything you can add or suggest would be a great help as i really dont want to make the wrong decision !

Thanks in advance for you help / comments. Cheers

what is with people that complain that the evo takes too long to heat up. these people need to show me a vape that can get up to the evo's max temp in that much time or less and i bet you five dollars they'll pull out a mflb. also those fucknuts who say the evo is shittier than the old one because it gets too hot up top and you gotta put something around it. oh boo hoo!

p.s. are we ever gonna see titanium ELBs or something? my friends and i wear out ELB's very regularly...

Cheers stonemonkey55, can't wait to get my hands on the Evo, so jealous of you people on here who ready have one!

One other thing you may be able to help me with please, there is currently no UK suppliers who actually have any stock of any of the hydratubes or hydra foot attachments (I believe vapefiend will be the authorised UK supplier) they have them listed but show as out of stock, I guess that all of the attachments will ship to the UK the same time as the main evo units, could you please confirm that this is actually the case please?

Cheers

I'm not sure how you wear out your ELBs. Granted I have about 14 that I rotate around, but I have never had one die on me yet. And I'm an everyday, multiple times a day user.

A lot of my friends who use Clouds have adopted a lazy manner of emptying ELBs which is just to pinch them a bit and twist it around in your fingers.

I always use a pokey to clear my ELBs and they're still in good shape mostly but occasionally one gets a wild strand of metal mesh coming off and the whole thing breaks apart.

yeah, that'll fuck 'em up! I just dump them and blow them out. occasionally i use a spiral brush and in a blue moon i will iso them.

We're here to fuck shit up.
I just had the entire top of an ELB pull away as I tried to remove it from the Bamboo. The rest of the ELB was stuck in the bamboo with a bunch of material still inside. Not fun trying to get it out. The only thing is that I don't see titanium holding up any better than the stainless versions we have now.

When I bought mine extra 2 packs of ELBs initially I've found the quality of their welds quite low. And I think it's still the same.
It's usualy these ELBs with poor welds that break. I think all they need is better and stronger welds. Only a small minority of the ELBs I got were flawless.
Some had welds missing at some spots or broken/weak welds at some spots. Some were even crupmled a bit at the welds - another weak point.
The flawless ones perform perfect and it doesn't seem these will ever break.

Just got this little beauty from @Mynameismud . I'm thinking it should work great with some VapeXnails. Those will be ordered next week.

Personally, the thought of that slyme green tube filled up with opaque white around it looks cool, at least in my head.

Bahahahahaahha Coral Reefer.

The elbs seem pretty sturdy to me. I only have a rotation of three elbs that I use.. I clean them often too. Ended up getting quite a few elbs for free from entering that special promotional code they had on Doug Benson's Getting Doug with High. So many back ups!!

The majority of my backups from the promotion actually have been donated to my friends over time. I just wish they'd stop wearing them out because i don't have ELBs forever!

Ok, so I just went in to go use my Cloud EVO, low and behold, the auto shutoff never took effect, and the bamboo was SUPER RED HOT. RED RED RED. It was bright RED when I looked in the tube.

I immediately shut it off, waiting for it to cool down completely before I use it. I don't notice any structural damage to the bamboo at the current moment.

I'm very afraid. :-(. I hope the bamboo didn't crack due to the heat.

^^^ Awesome idea, man! That's one of those 7th Floor vapor tamers, right? Hits probably don't get smoother than that...well unless you stack a HT on it

So the other day, my VXL travel case was delivered and in it came a branded sleeve that goes over the upper area of the Evo. Since it still gets extremely hot with the rubber bands, I decided to try putting the sleeve over the bands. It certainly helped the one time I tried it, but I'm concerned that it may trap too much heat instead of dissipating it and the unit could become damaged.

Is this a silly thought, or is it a big no-no?

That's how I know my ELBs are starting to disintegrate. I notice a wild strand of metal mesh coming out of the bottom. Often it is a very tiny strand and looks like just a stray hair or something from the table, and requires a lamp to even see it. But you can't flick it away like some debris.

I've still used frayed ELBs a number of times, but now that's when I like to switch them out.

I made my own and stopped using it because it made the electronics smell stronger. I don't like them.

So I turned my Evo on and went into the other room for a few to let it heat up. I suddenly smelled something weird/hot. I looked at the evo and it was glowing orange. I instantly turned it off and unplugged it. I let it cool down for a bit (and stop glowing). I plugged it back in, turned it 12:00 and turned it on and off a couple times. I then let it warm up as normal. Tried a ELB, seemed to be working correctly. I tried a VXN, and it would not fit all the way in the bamboo.

Needless to say I am hesitant to leave it unattended at all. Very rough day for it to be out of commission. Also waiting for the massdrop sale to ship (my spare).

Grateful I noticed the smell, and that it didn't cause any other damage.

Hmmm that's not good about the nail. You sure your bamboo isn't cracked or something? I had a similar incident with the glowing bamboo and my VXN's still fit perfect
