Received my indica from massdrop, i was planning on waiting for version 2 with replaceable battery. But the price was to good. Anyways my appreciation goes to INdica for a first rate product and excellent packaging . Very professional product. It had a minor scratch on front but im not a picky person and it is the type of scratch you would get anyways withins days of putting in pocket etc. very happy and would get a black one with replacable battery too. Well done sir on fulfilling your dream and our expectations

@Indica Vaporizer Just got my vape and it seems a bit warm while charging. Wondering if that's alright? Just want to say how impressed I am by the feel of the vape. The fit and finish is wonderful. I am happy. Hopefully it charges up and I do some burn offs and the smell goes away (i've had some bad experiences with other vapes). Taste is extremely important for me. Also just want to add that i love the oven. It's not dumb like the pax it's smooth and looks extremely easy to clean with an alcohol swab.

Edit: the unit is fuming as well. I saw some dark particles on the bottom of the vape and tried to wipe them out but they don't move. It looked like the oven was dirty or something but it still smells and still fumes after 4 burn offs. I was really looking forward to taking this thing outside and going on an adventure :(. It really stinks now. The smell is more electronic. i really hate this process of sending the vape back and forth just to get a working one. That's why I wanted this instead of the ascent after my first one fumed. Btw i'm not doing anything wrong. Every single time from the first burn off there are fumes. With both the ascent and the indica. This happens every time! I'm sorry i'm just very frustrated right now.

Warmth while charging is normal for electronics like these. If the smell doesn't go away run some of the tests mentioned over the last few pages to make sure you dont need customer service, that way you can have the same fantastic Indica experience most of us have been enjoying

@Spinuch There is absolutely nothing in between the oven and the air path to the mouth piece tip except for a small silicone coupler attaching the 2 together. The electronics are completely sealed off from the oven.
Are you running it on Red?
Did you make sure and throw the spacer in the oven during the burn off?
If I can get the OK I will post pics of the inside of unit.
As of now I cannot.
I can assure you that the electronics board is way off to the side where the button is.
It is well away from the oven.
The inside of the Indica is very clever and completely safe.
Mine had a slight (electronic smell) if you will at first. I tore it apart and noticed it was not coming from the chamber because its sealed.
FYI I did 4 burn offs with 2 spacers in it, and it still had a we bit of a smell. Knowing it wasn't going to be harmful after disassembling it, I used it and the smell went away that day.
Take the oven door off and make sure the white/clear silicone (square) spacer around the oven opening is set correctly, that my be your issue. If it looks askew, you can push it in place with a paperclip.

I really liked my Indica. I've had it for about a month.

Unfortunately it no longer works. It charges, turns on and
lights up, but does not get hot.

I can't find anywhere on the site to make a warranty claim.

email mike@indica2.com he will get back to you pronto.
His main concern (other than a great product) is excellent customer service and satisfaction. He will set things straight, and get you happy again, I can assure you of that.

I did put the spacer in there. I don't know if it's electronic but after i was finished the last burn off it smelled more concerning. Anyway it doesn't matter because it's fuming and that's not safe to just ignore.

Edit: i didn't see any thing wrong with that little piece it looked fine but i will check and come back. Nope it didn't seem to set it in a different place and didn't seem to be faulty.

I had the exact same issue, Mike got back to me within 10 minutes of me emailing him and sent a new one out the next day. Great service, hopefully we were unlucky and its not a trend. Mine was never dropped or mishandled in any way. Second one so far works great.

All in all, the first production run of the Indica went extremely well. The statistics are showing approximately 96 - 97% met or beat all customer expectations. Clearly, as you all are seeing, there are needed production improvements and added QC checks that are currently being implemented. These quick acting changes will eliminate the 3 to 4% of unacceptable units that have made it into the market going forward.

I think all of you here on FC have noted that I do not want a poor product in your hands and will do what’s necessary to ensure that the Indica gives you every thing it has claimed to be and more.

If you have issues with the Indica, but honestly, please determine if they are real issues or just quirks in how your using the product, drop me a PM here on the forum and I’ll see what can be done to work it through.

Again, your continued input and “crowd sourcing” has helped improve the Indica’s design and QC control as well. The FC forum is a living-breathing organism to the Vaporizer community and I appreciate your complete candor. Please continue to bring on the unfiltered thoughts both positive and negative. All are needed for the Indica’s success.

Starting August 1st an FC discount will be implemented as an expression of appreciation. Thanks guys

Thanks Mike for your prompt reply regarding my faulty unit. I look forward to receiving the replacement.

The Indica is a great product and if I could change anything I would change the auto-shutoff duration. I always had to run two sessions to finish the bowl.

The mini USB connector is a bit out of place in a world where micro usb is the current standard, but I guess the mini usb connectors were cheaper because of that.

I'm pleased you can run a full 20 min on .26 g. You've discovered the full potential of the Indica. We have some that load up .07g for medicaid purposes with a spacer and find this feature helps conserve battery life when they forget. It's hard to satisfy all.

Though the micro usb is the standard, I have found bleary eyed moments fumbling with north and south. The mini is a bit more obvious and I didn't want an overly medicated customer stumbling through a potential awkward and anguishing moment as well. Additionally, the micro bends and breaks if not inserted correctly. Comparatively, the mini was the Sherman Tank :)( A little window into the thought behind the rational)

I had three phones in a row have the micro USB ports break. The first time sucked, the second time I thought I was just unlucky. They were able to overnight me phones so I wasn't without one for long, but I'd be distraught if it happened with my vaporizers. Good choice IMO

Android smartphones are a hobby of mine and I've owned quite a few. Only once have I had a micro usb port break. It was on the only Samsung phone I've ever owned so I think it was more an issue with their build quality and less with the micro usb specification.

I have had micro usb cables break but that's no biggie, they are cheap.

I have a dozen things that charge with Micro usb. Only the indica and an old pair of headphones charges with mini.

I suppose it's a moot point anyway because USB 3.1 Type C is right around the corner and will be the new standard. No matter what I'll be needing two or more usb cable types.

The upcoming type C connector is unidirectional, so that should take care of difficult insertion.

If the indica's exterior housing wasn't metal they could toss a QI coil in and have wireless charging.

Hello all

I was about to order a pax till I read this thread. I ended up purchasing an Indica based on your reviews and the awesome back n forthing from the president of Indica.

I've been using my indica for about 4 days and I do enjoy it. I suppose since its a portable I cant expect it to produce the same type of vapor a plug in unit would. I have never used any other portable units so I don't really have anything else to compare it to but I would say it produces medium vapor in terms of the density range. Based on videos from other user's, they seem to be producing denser vapor than I do, and I'm wondering other than experimenting with spacers what have people tried to get the best experience from this unit?

I have noticed that the light sometimes spazzes out when I'm charging and using the unit at the same time. Its like the light switches from charge mode to vape mode at a high frequency. Is this normal behavior? It seems to function normally but should I be worried? It does not do this often.

Hello all

I've noticed something with my Indica. When I used it today while it was plugged in the light was going crazy like it kept alternating between my set temperature light and the charging light (green at the time). When unplugged it turned off but would turn on again if I pressed the button.

Has anyone else noticed anything similar or is it just mine doing this? It seems to function normally despite this.

Also to add is it normal that I can only seem to produce decent vapor when it is packed very full and very tight? Is there a way to produce maximum vapor with minimal load ? I tried using 2 spacers at once but it didn't seem to work.

Don´t forget to clean the airpath between uses, it´s very important for vapor production.
I use a toothpick everytime I end a session.

I always load my full. I've had good luck just leaving it full and running multiple sessions off one load. Can't comment on using while charging, as I've never tried.

Pack it tight and full. With good erb I get 3 sessions (1 dark blue, 1 green, then 1 purple) nice clouds throughout. I get slightly bigger clouds out of my vapir 2 and solo. To me that's expected as their both bigger vaporizers even though their all portable.

I think we need another category.
Pocketable, Portable, and plugin.

And yes its critical to clean the airpath regularly, its fast and easy so why not?

yes I do clean it at least every 2-3 uses once its cooled down with the pipe cleaner, but ill get some toothpicks so i can do it straight after each session while its still hot, thanks for the tip.

In terms of loading a lesser amount. Would it be better to pack in tight but have less contact with the ovens surfaces or pack loosely to maximize contact with the oven surfaces if that sort of makes any sence? I have tried both ways and unfortunately just couldnt really produce any decent results unless i pack it really full. Im wondering now if maybe the airpath was blocked and whether i should keep experimenting.

Ideally my ultimate goal is to load just the right amount for one or two decent inhalations - on convection style vaporizers i have been able to figure this out with some trickery, is it possible on portable conduction style vaporizers or am I dreaming?

Totally possible although I only get wispy vapor on small loads.

Load a pinch. Poke it with the pick. Put in a spacer. Push it down to compress the herb. Add in a second spacer. If you are further compressing the herb you have added to much. Put the lid on.

For small loads I do one session starting on dark blue thru green and purple. The vapor is generally wispy but I get thoroughly recreated. The abv is less evenly cooked (who knows?) but never charred or blackish.

Give it a whirl.

Sounds odd to me as well. Mike has always got right back to me fast as lightning.
Did you email him at Mike@indica2.com our did you try to contact Indica through mass drop.
Not saying I don't believe you, but I find that very hard to believe.
Indicas customer service is probably the best I've ever dealt with IMO.
Send him a PM if you haven't already, he constantly watches the forums...
