Hi!!
I get this message when I try to place my order:

My destination is Spain and my cart includes 2 x satchmo, 3 x classical (2 of them french cannoli....BTW no bulk discount with them:|) and 1x insert.

Hope you can fix it. I'd rather buy directly from you instead of adding another company to the transaction.

Just another thing about the cannolis: I like all the insert designs, but only two of the container designs. Maybe you could consider making them interchangeable, or sell the etched inserts with normal containers or w/o any container.

Overvaped,

Please try again and let me know if it doesn't work as to the shipping issue.

As for the Frenchy Cannolli designs those are the result of a group collaboration so it gets complicated to switch out the cores//outer designs. I will talk to Frenchy about selling the glass by it self.

I'm sorry that I don't have more of them to give you. I'll continue looking for a completely odor free gasket though I'm not sure such thing exists. Again if anyone has a recommendation for a Teflon silicone provider I'd be intetrested.

-Aldo
It's ok Aldo, I procrastinated and missed out. Also, I understand 100% Silicone was not the best option because of material sticking to it. PTFE and Silicone are both materials that my nose is happy with, as long as they don't contain any added dyes or other impurities. I've done plenty of searching on the web trying to figure this out, it's not easy. I have seen silicone products that have non-stick properties, are these products using something else in the mix or maybe it's the mold (texture)? Something I came across in my searches is "Expanded PTFE"... looks good on paper and comes in 1/4" thick sheets, is it a contender? There is a few good rubber shops in my area, I'll stop by next time I go to town and see what they have to say.

We need to ask if this is even an issue for most of his customers. At some point the cost and effort of changing out these inserts for other materials may become counterproductive unless this is a major issue for a lot of his customers versus just a handful of people with sensitive palates.

It's tricker to get this right than I would have imagined. Non-stick silicone is silicone coated with Teflon, which works very well but I'm a little concerned about abrasion on the Teflon layer. And it's still pretty hard to come by and quite expensive. But I'm very open to your input so anything you find out let me know....please send email to support@jyarz.com ...best way to reach me right now.

Thank you and I won't give up until we find the perfect material....even if it adds cost.

I'm on mission to make as perfect (within certain cost criteria) as I can muster. If we can find a material that is odor free and is non-stick I'm open to trying new things. But in the end, from an economics perspective you are right. If the cost of better gaskets is astronomical, I won't be able to do it. As it is very few people have issues with the gaskets but for those that do I'd like to nail that aspect as well...again, within reason.

@JyARz you not only have a great product you also seem like a great person. I wish you nothing but success. I have given jyarz out to friends but I still hold onto the first jyar I bought. It has no signs of wear. It nice that the item is made eco friendly, its modular and made from recycled milk jugs. But in my experience the best part is how durable it is. I often think about how cheap items end up in the trash (the whole buy cheap tools at harbor frieght use it a few times and if it breaks buy another)

yeah also chiming in to say all my original jyarz still work amazing and are probably the best investment i have made in terms of weed related gear for so long.

Edit: woah didn't know there was a bigger one now! Wild! I totally like it because it looks like you can fill an ELB without having to pour some weed out of the jar!

That's quite a testimonial. I need to get customer comments fixed on JyARz.com. When I do I just hope a few of you will post something there...would very much appreciate it.

Good and Great Fans of JyARz...I call for your help!

I've just enabled Reviews on JyARz.com. If you have a spare moment (its quick) please submit a review for any of our products...we would very much appreciate it! I was thinking I should provide some sort of incentive but then again, paying for reviews is like paying for votes...I'm not down with the ethics of it. So I simply ask your assistance.

Really appreciate any input.

Aldo, not to be a b*tch about it, but if you add Teflon anything, I'm outta here.

I don't do Teflon. PTFE is on my never list.

I hear you loud and clear. And without making ANY COMMITMENTS yet, I've found a provider of "platinum silicon" (surgical grade) non-stick. I'm thinking I could offer them separately if they are very expensive which they might be ... I'm at a very early phase...no promises as yet.

Thank you Aldo, I've been paying attention from the start and never doubted your desire for perfection. I believe your eco friendly business model, quality products, great customer service, and that "never stop improving" approach will reward you greatly.

I'm also a bit of a container freak and despite my personal taste issues, I still like your products enough to keep recommending them over your competitors. I'll even buy more (when on sale) with the stinky rubber just because I can't help myself... someday I'll find a use for them or give away as gifts.
________

To those thinking about buying these products, please don't let my comments of rubber odor deter you. It's only going to be detectable to the most sensitive taste buds, maybe 5-10% of us, and probably not be offensive to you at all. I still believe these are the best portable herb storage containers you can get.

What's wrong with PTFE? We aren't cooking with it, or scraping with a spatula, or ingesting it in this application. It would be just as safe as silicone AFAIK.

And before I can get a reply out, the man has an idea on the board! What more can you ask for?

i'd be more than happy to leave a review and feel free to use my grammatical nightmare of a post for a testimonial, by all means!

does anyone own the satchmo and also a vapexhale? i'm wondering it's wide enough to fill/store an ELB inside? even if you can't, i will probably still buy a couple.

I will go check what I've got now....

An ELB will fit in the CHICO. It will touch the lid liner, but it will fit. That's the LITTLE one.

I think you could probably get 4 ELBs in a Satchmo, from my estimates.

Since the odor discussion is happening again, I will just repeat my experience. Empty, its always there. I aired them for weeks and the smell would develop when I assemble and close my jyarz.

BUT, it goes away with mj in it. It doesnt affect the taste or smell at all. It just doesnt interact with the mj. I think its part of the food grade status status.

AND, its the best designed container for sucking a bowl of herbs in your solo stem. Perfect. For months. The sealing process feels and is awesome too. You know no air gets through.

edit: Boom! I got the 1st review logged on the classic jyarz :D

Love the new size. I only wish the glass insert had JyARz written on it like the classic ones do. Other than that they look wonderful

Thank you! The reason we're not branding the glass is that there are an increasing number of partners that want the space to put their branding/co-branding on the glass. We still have inventory of Classic glass cores with our branding but in time those too will shift to plain glass without branding.

That's too bad. I thought it was a nice touch. But it's certainly not a deal breaker at all. What is the need for the grey material on the inside of the outer core?

I'm a little sorry to see the logo go but I think it's the right thing to do in the end. The grey pad inside the JyAR is there to "pad" the differences in diameter of the glass and the wall of the plastic bottle. Glass has a fairly wide tolerance range (even the fancy scientific glass that we use) so the pad prevents any "slapping" of the glass.

Make sense?
