Okay so, this is my first time cleaning. I know to smoke the cotton, but I cleaned the whole tube, and collected this. It's VERY dark, and has the consistency of very thick earwax. Smells a bit like burnt peanuts. Is that something I'd enjoy smoking? Or is it maybe some small amount of tar or whatever.

had a cool idea for a new gong attachment. basically something that would be flippable to vape the other side of the bowl (i most often find when i stir for the 2nd hit that i just want to get the other side, basically i want to flip everything in there and using a poker/epic tool isn't optimal for that). not sure on the best design, maybe something with a mesh lid that closes after you load it.

I am new to water filtration, and am in the process of aquiring a Mobius Ion Bubbler with Matrix Perc. http://aqualabtechnologies.com/mobius-glassworks-ion-bubbler-with-matrix-perc.html

On the page it says it has a 18mm Female. Would this fit? http://www.epicvape.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=62_64&product_id=53

I am looking forward to the E-Nano with water filtration!

Awesome combo there. And yes that's exactly what you need. You should also pick up some extra adjustable basket screens from Andy while your at it.

OH! And protip: it would be a shame to get little bits of ground herb in that pretty matrix perc. These fit inside the back end of the 19mm gongs perfectly:

http://www.puffitup.com/Arizer-Elbow-Adapter-p/arizerscreenkit.htm

I find with the basket screen up front holding the herb, and one of those elbow screens in the back, I get basically zero material coming through into my perc/water. This is by no means necessary, but it does cut down on cleaning... which in and of itself reduces the chances of breaking your glass.

On a side note I want to say that I'm very jealous that you are able to acquire a Mobius bubbler as your first piece. That's sort if like buying a Mercedes as your first car. It by no means is a bad thing, but you may spoil yourself in regards to using glass of "lesser" caliber, heh.

BTW any specific reason why you opted for the Ion over the Atom? Either is a great pick but I'm just curious.

yeah, i think it's really 18.8 or something, you'll see both 18mm and 19mm listed for those pieces.

Very nice choice!

One thing to remember about using bubblers with vapes is blowback of the ABV. After you release the pressure in a bubbler, the water level will settle back to normal and push air UP through the downstem. You'll see all your ABV blow out the top of your GONG if you're not careful (either out of the GONG and onto your lap, or INTO the inside of the nano around the heating element)! I can't tell you how many times I've watched my friends forget and lose most of the load before it's cached! :bang:

You have two choices - clear the bubbler by removing the whole GONG and nano at the same time (HOT and dangerous). Or you can use a Claisen adapter (Y shaped glass with two female ends, and one male end). Use a stopper on one side to act as a carburetor to clear your bubbler and prevent ABV blowback.

(Not my picture - i think this is one of @jambandphan03 setup with I believe a Subliminator)

You don't *need* a claisen and a stopper - but it makes life SO much easier :2c:

And don't get me started on Cranberry Extract..... but then we're going way off topic :science:

You can also place a top screen over your load, keeping your material from moving.

I still prefer using a Cloud Buddy, but that would be the cheapest option, just adding another screen.

Good idea on the top screen, but doesn't it become a PITA to stir the load?

Isn't a cloud buddy just a pricey claisen + stopper kit? My 19mm was less than $15 and stoppers go for $9 on ebay (unless you fopt for a nice custom stopper like me from Vaped&Confused)

I don't know if you guys are aware of this offer (requires Facebook) but I got a great deal on Epicvape because of it, so passing it along. Note that it's only valid till the 5th of July, though. Thanks again @ACE OF VAPE !

EDIT: Of course, I could just post the code here but then the point (to get Epicvape more exposure on Facebook and, conversely, the internet) would be lost. :) So take the time for those couple of clicks - and give the page your 'like' in the process!

Might be easier, depending on how you look at it. I just lift the screen a tad and shake. With stirring you crush the load or can spill some. It takes me seconds and no thought power to lift and shake, like its second nature. The nano's heat port just shoves the screen back in place for me.

Much heavier glass and different air flow, the CB weighs 8 grams more despite having a smaller tube (less glass). With the claisen I can get resin pretty far up into the stopper's side, you can actually see the vapor swirl around in the adapter.

The CB is a straight shot through or I can use the 90 degree side to collect more resin at the cost of some air restriction, slamming the vapor into a wall. Plus a standard 3/4 inch screen fits my CB with a tad bit of resin where it just won't stick at all in my claisen, the glass is so much smoother and collects resin differently.

Good to know, thanks for that info

Solod out.
I was thinking of using one of those pads with herb so nothing falls into the heating element. Just shake the stem instead of stirring. Am I the only one who almost never uses the nano vertically? I'm always using it close to horizontally.

The pads are definitely a bit more restrictive for airflow - you will have to make sure to pack your stems fairly loose, I would think Caligulas method with a 2nd screen works better for herb
