If you're worried about smell, then use a doobie tube. Get an empty toilet paper roll, put packing tape over one end and then fill it up with 5 or 6 shredded bounce fabric softeners. Cover the other end with packing tape. Poke a big (ish) hole in one end, and 5-10 thumbtack holes in the other end. Test it out by holding thw 5-10 hole end in one hand and blow in the other end. Fabric softener. Then, in a location you know is safe and with someone you trust, take a hit on the LB (I've done this with the Iolite and it works) and then blow it though the doobie tube into your trusted friend's face. I would be surprised if they can smell weed.

Obviously, this isn't particularly stealth, but you can easily use it in a bathroom stall or a darkened movie theatre.

LMAO!! I'm a relative newbie and just started my collection last fall.... I'm just getting started :D

I do have a couple not listed in siggy cuz I don't use them LOL!

The LB amazes me! The size and stealth factor are great but it is unbelievably effective as well. I think you'll be pleased. Look forward to your report.

If you want less visible exhales, just take smaller hits. Make half your hit vapor followed by air.

I've had no problem ghosting my hits to eliminate(and fully absorb) visible vapor. This means that I just hold the hit in as long as possible. Taking big size hits and trying to ghost them is not an option though because it's hard to hold your breath and hold the vapor in your lungs at the same time. You'll eventually start to run out of oxygen(head rush) and be forced to breathe, releasing visible vapor.
So the trick to no smell no visible vapor is to take a small ~5-10 second hit, only filling up about half of your lung capacity, leaving plenty of oxygen so you can hold your breath. I also like to take in as much extra air as possible after taking the hit, so it makes holding the hit a lot easier and less of a struggle.
I've used this technique in many public situations, sometimes 5ft away from people and sometimes even right next to them. just "act natural" haha

Hello All - long time lurker, first time posting. I have been a vapor enthusiast for quite awhile now and finally let all the GLOWING reviews on this thread get to me :D Ordered my LB from vapeworld yesterday, should be here soon. I thought it was time to chime up on a couple things so lets get them out in no particular order:

Hope you don't put your food in it! (sorry, couldn't resist)

Ah yes! AKA the spoof! Thank you for the nostalgic college memories.

I had a couple questions I was hoping magicflight could address regarding the forthcoming LB power adapter. First of all, is it too early to predict an approximate price for this add-on? No worries if it is not yet time to make that info public - I know how that whole process goes. Also, is there any possibility for a USB based power adaptor? That would be extremely beneficial since I could use it with my LiPoly backup batteries that provide power via a USB port carrying a splendid 8 WH (equivalent of 5300 mah @ 1.5v). I would not need to bother with double-as anymore with this configuration - a fully charged USB battery backup + USB power adapter should last for most of the day while retaining a highly portable form factor.

Looking forward to earning my wings with this thing!

Personally, I don't think a seperate power adapter is needed for the LB after getting the sanyo batteries and bc-700 charger. I'm not employed by either company however I'm just extremely satisfied with their products, that's why I keep recommending them along side the LB. (MF I got a couple of customrs headed your way :). I stay on a pretty good high all day and Even on days where i have heavy sessions, the max I use is four batteries. Just make sure your herb is grinded very fine, I own a chromium crusher and it can literally grind herb down to look like kief. It really does make a difference, your herb will now be heated at a uniform distribution, thus more vapor=:brow::D. I'm saving so much herb now, I now vape about 2 trenches at 3/4 full Daily and that's way less than what I use to smoke with my pipe.

Although I'm a big fan of the LB, I'm not so sure that FINELY ground herb is a good fit. The LB is basically a CONDUCTION vape, and finely ground material in contact with the screen/heater tends to get stuck to the screen. It's difficult, and a nuisance, to constantly have to knock this duff loose from the screen. I'm going to try a coarser grind to see if that makes it easier to evenly vape a trench. Has anyone already tried this? :peace:

But BECAUSE it's conduction, fine ground works better. A coarser grind will leave you with some pieces that aren't thoroughly vaped. My first vape was a conduction model (BC Vaporizer), and even letting it sit loaded, for an extended time, with increasing heat, I still had very small pieces that were undercooked.

It's difficult, and a nuisance, to constantly have to knock this duff loose from the screen.
I've found that the screen cleans quite easily, even with just gentle scraping with a pen knife. It really hasn't been an issue for me.

You're right, it's no problem to CLEAN the LB screen. I was referring to the necessity of clearing the screen BETWEEN hits. The fine stuff gets stuck (without combusting) to the trench bottom on the first good hit. I don't want to have to CLEAN the LB between hits. That's why I'm going to try a coarser grind, and slower hits. I'll post my results, good or bad. :peace:

I'm actually finding a very fine grind to be better myself. I'm double grinding, just for the LB.

Magic Flight,
It states in the Launch Box directions not to use the batteries unless they are fully charged.
Is this because they will not perform as well, or that it will damage the batteries?

For example, is it OK to pull a fully-charged battery out of the charger, use it for a trench, place it back in the charger, and grab the other battery for another trench (and then use the first battery again before it is fully charged...rinse and repeat...)? Possibly until one completely runs out of juice?
Hi Progress,

Sorry for the long delay in responding to your questions -- we have been on the road a lot lately and have not had a chance to check in for awhile.

We recommend fully charged batteries for performance reasons only -- so that people get the best possible experience with the Box, particularly on their first try when they are just learning how to use it. There are no problems with using partially charged batteries, as long as there is enough charge for them to be usable/useful.

There is also no issue with cycling batteries through the charger as you describe. However, it is recommended that you let the charger complete its charge cycle whenever possible as the microprocessor in the charger may attempt to implement a conditioning cycle on the batteries. If it senses that the battery is low, it may discharge the battery before recharging it so as to extend the battery life. The charger that is being shipped is a smart charger and is designed to make the batteries last as long as possible.

Progress said:
Also, on an unrelated note, is it OK to draw hard/shake/draw hard/shake/draw hard/shake... until a trench is basically done without removing the battery until just before one stops drawing (in effect, finishing a whole trench in one draw hard/shake/draw hard/shake/draw hard/shake...)?
Yes, it is OK to do this, as long as you perform these steps in immediate sequence. This is a technique that anyone can use once they have become fairly familiar with the performance characteristics of the Box, etc. The fast cycling method is an alternative for using the Box, but requires that the person be fairly accurate in their timing, else they will either get too little vapor or significantly changed taste.

I have a question for those of you who are using this in public, or not getting any smell from it. I agree that there is less of an odor, but when I use it, there is a definite weed smell, though it doesn't linger a long time. The way I've been using it, there is no way I could do it in public.

So, are you inhaling faster? I usually inhale slowly, and the weed doesn't burn, but I get a nice big vapor cloud. I'm just wondering if inhaling faster is what allows you to vape in public, and not have the smell become a problem.

Love this vape---have put my Vapezilla in semi-retirement.
What you can do to prepare your weed for public MFLB consumption (when you're as paranoid as you are) is to pull out that Vapezilla of yours and run your weed through it on a really low setting - below what you would set it for vaping. The most odor-producing oils are the first to go, and as long as you don't get it too hot, you will have weed that will get you high without smelling much like anything except maybe dusty old socks.
Hmm . . . I don't feel paranoid about it at all--I just know that using my LB in my garage, the smell is noticeable for a good 20-30 minutes, so I definitely wouldn't want to pull that bad boy out in say, a movie theater like some other posters have stated.

buck824, you might want to do what some posted about earlier. draw in some air along with the vapor. the hits won't be thick but you'll still get vaped and the air clears quicker. i'm kind of in the same boat as you because my wife hates the smell. so i experimented all over the house, absorbed all her complaints and found a style where she can't detect it. i've even vaped this way in the same room with her.

I don't know why this thing puts out less smell than other units. Makes no sense to me, but that seems to be my unquantifyable experience.
Part of the reason is that, used as directed, the Box only produces vapor when you need it -- there is never any vapor/odor directly vented to the room. Most vaporizers, once started, will also stay going until the load is completely spent (constant heating). Since the user can only take in vapor intermittently with the breath, that means that with most vaporizers there will always be occasions where the heated materials will be venting to the room -- hence the smell. With the Box, the heating is itself intermittent and matches consumption. The user consumes and adsorbs the smell along with the medicine -- hence no aroma is ever directly vented to the room.

The Box is designed to produce only as much vapor as the lungs are likely to adsorb, whereas most others vaporizers are designed to produce a significant excess of vapor (looks more impressive). This has the dual advantage of both being more efficient in delivery as well as being more discrete. As with viability of exhaled vapor being an indication that better performance/technique is possible, excess smell is also an indicator of potential improvements in the usage pattern. Unlikely as it may seem to some, it is possible to get full medicinal effects from the Box with nearly zero resulting additional smell in the room (ie, any odor more than the baseline of what the unheated load would produce in an unused Box). Again, effective and optimized user technique makes all of the difference with the Box.

The charger that ships with the Box kit can charge one battery at a time. It is also a microprocessor controlled smart charger that will recondition the batteries so as to extend their overall life.

Somewhere between $50 and 80. We would prefer it to be lower, but the components required do not give us much negotiating room.

Unfortunately not -- the standard USB port simply does not deliver enough power to run the Box directly. However, there are USB chargers for the provided batteries. We used to sell them ourselves but discontinued stocking them due to lack of demand.

Also, please be sure to use only NiMH type batteries with the Box -- other types will either not work or will be unstable, potentially damaging either the Box or the batteries.

Grinding herb up fine is definitely a MUST. If you have pieces of bud, after you vape them for a while you'll see the edges are a darker brown while the middle is green/tan. If you grind it up, it comes out more evenly browned.

I got some properly dried herb and grinded it up as fine as i could and got a few more hits than i did with the last batch i had. After about 6-8 hits, I was able to re-grind the stuff and get a couple more hits too. If i'm on-the-go and dont have my grinder, sometimes i just try to break it up with my fingers a bit part way through the trench. As it gets vaped and dried out more it gets easier to break down.

I really need to find a nice little grinder that i can take with me everywhere, one that's able to grind stuff down really fine. The plastic grinder with metal pegs that vapeworld sent with mine is great size and material wise, but it just doesnt get it fine enough. I ended up just using the edge of the grinder to just crush stuff against a piece of paper on my desk yesterday. My metal ones work better, but they're heavier and bulkier and i dont like carrying them around in a bag with my LB because i dont want them to break anything.

*edit*

grinded a load up finer than i've ever grinded b4 (it was like salt) and wow, the hits were amazing. For teh first time i got really thick tasty hits from this thing that i had to fight to hold in and release it in what seemed like 3 separate breaths lol i've gotten 4 like that so far out of this trench, and not even lookin like half way through it. Needless to say, i'm totally vaked (and miles from home!) and totally in love with this thing. :D

I really hope my LB arrives here as fast as his too! I ordered mine last night at 7pm central, I'm just bummed because the LB probably won't arrive for a few days since I'm in the Midwest =/. But nevertheless, I'm so stoked to get this! A couple days ago, I was seriously about to order the Vapor Genie after I read the great reviews about it, until someone mentioned this 'Magic Flight Launch Box' that is "soooooo much better than the Vapor Genie," so I checked it out, and I was sold.

I do have a few questions, though... The reason I'm turning to vaporizing is for the health reasons, but I'm still kind of concerned about how hot the vapor will be when I breathe it in. For those of whom that own an LB, does your throat ever burn, or get dry and irritated?

And the past few posts have been about grinding the herb very finely, which I completely agree with in order to enhance the vaporizing; but if I have the LB pre-packed, and in my pocket, won't my herb fall out?

Yeah ordered Monday morning. Shipped priority mail from vapeworld as well - yours is probably not far behind! Props to vapeworld for the perfect service. A+ will vape again

The launch box has exceeded ALL :o of my (already high) expectations. It wasn't until I experienced it first hand that the absolute genius of this design become apparent. This thing is so small I'm worried I might misplace it! (Notice the warranty doesn't cover accidental loss... clever clever :brow: ) Seriously though the LB is maybe a couple hairs larger than a match box. I wasn't expecting such a nano-size package to deliver a comparable potency as the volcano but due to the sheer efficiency of the design (using it in 'native mode') I never realized how big of an improvement is achieved when the vapor is delivered immediately as it is produced. Now that I know the difference, I wonder how much potency gets lost to bags and whips with other vapes?...... I just achieved a mile high magic flight with maybe 1/2 of the absolute bare minimum amount I would put in the volcano for a solo sesh. Miles ahead of my IO - although in fairness maybe I should ditch the extension tube I added to my IO and go with the direct draw again since that's probably gunking up the works more than I realized. The herb in the LB was still green after my initial taste test which produced remarkable therapeutic results!

On initial quality I give the MFLB a 9.7/10 with only a couple of nitpicky neutral points: aside from the "oh crap where is my launch box?" factor previously mentioned, after accidentally forgetting a battery in for 3 seconds after finishing the rip I really see the value in adding a push button activator switch (just need to get used to the proper battery etiquette and I'll be good - nothing in life is perfect ). Also $50-80 for the power plug?! Ouch! :uhoh: glad I got 2 more batteries. I'm already getting a feel for approximating the battery level based on the little internal LED :p 4 is plenty with this efficiency

Bravo magicflight! Truly a product one would be proud to stand behind. I probably won't even need to say anything to my friends when I hand it to them to try out. This thing speaks for itself and will send business your way by my just sharing the experience with others!:peace:

Will keep updated on developments

FrostyLeaves, you will be surprised how much smoother vaporizing is compared to combustion. That being said, most direct draw vaporizers will be a bit warm to inhale but not uncomfortably so. If you're hyper sensitive you might need to adjust for a bit or take faster draws to decrease the temperature. Drink water between rips and you'll be fine. Lots of CA med patients with respiratory or other seriously debilitating conditions can only vape or eat edibles since combusting causes a reaction :puke:

Also the LB comes with rubber bands to hold the acrylic lid on - haven't done much testing in this regards yet but I'm confident it won't spill during transport
