Discontinued The Herbalizer

You should have taken a pic!

I did take one of the goo after scraping it out. I might post it later...pretty dark stuff. I have no idea how much I have run through Herbie, but I suspect not a whole lot since I make my vapes take turns.

Also,I’m concerned about the fan noise coming from my unit. I’ve only used it on 3 sessions, but the fan seems to come on every 10-20 seconds or so for a quick 1-2 seconds which is quite distracting. Is this normal? I’ve seen other users in this thread report similar issues, but not sure if this was the same problem since the video clips they uploaded are no longer viewable.

Also, when the fan kicked in on one of my sessions (the loud fan that sounds similar to a laptop) it was going non-stop for a good 5-10mins for my entire session until I turned the unit off. Shouldn't this fan only come on for a few seconds every couple of minutes? Instead of remaining on for that many minutes at a single time? I could swear that all this fan blowing was causing small amounts of vapor to come out of the whip each time, but I’m not certain.

Does the fan ever kick in when the unit is heating up but no bowl has placed on top of it?

This is all normal!

I wonder if removing the lid would void the warranty? I would check with Herbalizer before you do that.

Been running mine topless since December and have mentioned it to Josh and Sheila several times. Both Josh and Sheila actually made a joke about it in an email a while back, so can't imagine any issues. Love the super-low profile so it can fit just about anywhere.

grokit, could you please specify how often your fan comes on in a 10 minute session for example.
do other peoples units make fan noises so frequently (ex. every 10 seconds)?

The fan only comes on to maintain temperature while you're in a vaping session. If you are done vaping and haven't killed the bowl, closing the lid will keep the unused material unused because this temperature maintenance will continue to heat the material in the bowl. Considering that herbie only takes 10 seconds to warm up from a cold start, temperature maintenance isn't really needed anyways.

Thank you for explaining that. I was concerned that my unit might be performing abnormally, but now I understand that its normal. Loving my herbie so far.. will definitely be sharing some thoughts of an EX-volcano user soon :)

There is a bolt/pin holding the lid in place. If you look on the back where the lid hinges, one end on the pin has a standard slotted end for a screwdriver. The other end has a rounded off hex nut/cap holding the long screw/pin in place. If you unsrew the slotted end, then you can pull the long bolt out and remove the lid. Be sure to keep an eye on the hex nut/cap when pulling out the pin. Then it is a matter of using the buttons to turn Herbie on/off since you are basically disabling the on/off switch that is activated by the lid.

I am not recommending anyone do this, I don't want to be the cause of anyone messing up their Herbie. Just an informational post if the lid bugs you or you need to stash Herbie somewhere where there is very low clearance. ; )

After you run Herbie without the lid for a while, you truly realize how compact and sleek this vape truly is. A technological work of art.

here is a question i hope some of the vets can answer for me.

why does my reclaim from the herbie taste like ass (but it's still good and potent) compared to the reclaim i get out of my sublimator?

herbie reclaim tastes like i just smoked when i hit it on my Ti dab rig... but sub oil tastes so awesome...

my guess is the amount of particulate in my herbie reclaim compared to the beautiful red oil i get out of my sub. i think i answered my own q, but feel free to chime in :D

I'm in a terrible predicament now! I just found out that I have to have emergency surgery on Monday. My Herbie is supposed to be delivered by UPS, signature required, on Monday. Damnit, this blows. I'm going to call our next door neighbor and see if she will be home to sign for it. I don't want it in the hands of UPS and longer than necessary!

Wouldn't it be awesome to have herbie delivered to your hospital bed :D?

Yeah, but Herbie might be too much when you're hooked up to a morphine drip LOL...

Believe it or not, this is going to be an outpatient procedure at the hospital. So, I'll be home by evening, but I'm pretty sure I'll have missed UPS, and my Herbie by the time I get home.

I was able to get a hold of my neighbor, so I'll be having her sign for it. UPS told me to leave a big note on our front door instructing the driver to deliver it to her. I'll put that sign out Monday morning before going to the hospital.

I've used the reclaim from Herbie twice now - both times it was nasty. I do agree with the potent comment - one chunk of reclaim and I was as good as if I'd used several large dabs of concentrate. Now I just keep Herbie clean and don't let the reclaim build up. I know I'm throwing away good medicine, but I I'm fortunate to live in an area with a good supply of both flowers and concentrate legally.

Daily cleaning on the bowl is just the brush. I use ISO on a folded pipe cleaner once every few weeks to get the residue out of the bowl. I fold a pipe cleaner a few times so it fits the whip, then twist one or two more for length and use it like a long bottle brush inside the whip with ISO.

With this method obviously I don't get to reclaim anything, but you could do the same steps with a ISO soak and then reclaim from that.

edit: fixed typo

See above for a previous post about how I clean, most others also use ISO and swabs, q-tips, etc.

There is also the trick with swapping the top and bottom screens, they are mostly self cleaning that way.

The Herbalizer is my center! I love the darn thing! LOVE IT!!! Please Herb-A-Lizer Peeps, glass-line the top of the bowl or just plain produce a glass top bowl part for this bad boy! :brow: I would pay $50 for a piece like that and it would be the bees knees! :D I am not trying to be nit picky at all even though it sounds like that.:uhoh: I've just recently saw vaporblunt do it with there plastic mouthpiece (they glass-lined it) and that little bit of glass goes a long way in the flavor department!

Well I hope your ok with out her,
I'm hoping to get one in the next week, if everything works out for me.
I'm really looking forward to a convection vape that requires perhaps no priming of hot air like other vapes considering its instantly heating up the herb and maintaining the temp with CPU as you draw allways maintaining a contant precise temp.
I can't wait.

Yes you describe it pretty accurately, add a completest squeeze for the load and tremendously accurate medication state: astonishing.

you open the lid-box-clam herbie LE
push one button for vaportherapy (always set on 229°C),
the machine starts to heat up,
you catch the bowl, open it,
one spoon, or two spoons of one or two things,
insert on mini ELB (EQ screen+crushed vxl elb cap) or directly on the bowl
and close the bowl.
empty the bag or attach the whip:
bam 15 sec that's the way you do it!but the herbie already won the race and is ready making little noise by the regulation of raw heater bulb, sounds like tac-tac of small animal.

Gosh i miss him.

Almost there...
I just had a big glob of reclaim from Herbie last night!
Taste was great and effect was very strong and long lasting.

Not sure about the bad taste some are talking about?

I have upgraded my silicone hose to a bigger diameter one that is clear.
You can watch the oil start to collect just above the bowl in the tube.
I just scrape the walls of the silicone tube and use the goo on a Ti or glass nail or even on an aroma pad in the Herbie.
Always tastes good to me!

Oh that stuff!
That gets cleaned in an ISO bath and then evaporated and collected.
Also works pretty good and the taste is better than QWISO ABV IMO.
