Discontinued The Baker: By Vaporblunt

A lot of hate in this thread, maybe justified. A couple of clarifications so we don't stray too much...

The PNP was a great success for about a year, so technically they can launch a product well.

The water tools weren't counterfeit as they were licensed by vxl.

I'll figure out when the pics can be appropriately posted.
To be fair man, the devices were found to have intrinsic flaws. At best, I think we can cautiously say that the PNP's issues didn't form the perfect shambolic storm of design issues not to mention the dreadful conduct of TVB themselves for about a year.

The PNP is even with the PGonG (which I used for the first time the other day) just not good enough for the premium charged. It basically is a worse tasting solo in a smaller package with less battery life and several design flaws, coupled with the worst service I've ever had from a vape manufacturer.

I must say though, the PNWT is great. I have no reservations about saying this. Still, a company who will never get my money again.

Ill be reposting then in a few minutes for everyone. It would be awesome if someone has pics of the internals of the pnp as well so we can compare!

I forgot about the water tools they released I did like those at least lol

Here we are guys! AS previously stated please keep in mind that this was a "TEST" unit but I see no differences between this unit and the official retail units. When I first got the unit I was amazed by how light it was, then I was disappointing by how light it was haha. The entire construction doesent feel sturdy to me and if I GENTLY pressed on the sides of the unit I could bend the plastic enough to see inside the unit. Everything I say is my opinion but it felt like very cheap materials were used, definitely the same plastics as the pnp. Id love to see the actual cost to produce one of these units but I cant see it being that expensive. Keep in mind that the plastic center piece goes INSIDE the glass dome so you are potentially exposing that plastic to 800 degrees of hot vapor/air when your doing a dab.

yall be the judge.

EDIT: I feel a little bad now because the massdrop baker is getting nothing but HATE. Im trying to communicate with vaporblunt through massdrop to see what they have to say about the 800 degree airpath being right next to the plastic you fit the dome OVER.

I can't say I share your sympathy. I would if they had handled the Pinnacle Pro problems better. @TherealVaporblunt had a terrific track record of successful releases and great customer service until people started reporting problems with the PnP. While I've never bought the "melted plastic" claims (no way you wouldn't taste melted plastic) it's also clear that something odd was happening there. Sadly TRVB gave up on FC because people would not accept his explanations, and then VaporBLUNT started to deny warranty liability. Since they never gave a satisfactory explanation and there is no assurance that the same flaw doesn't exist in the Baker, I can't see how they wouldn't expect such a backlash.

At this point one can assume even though there not posting here anymore that someone from VB is keeping up with these threads. And since The Baker is currently available on there website as well shouldn't they have opted to move this from the candidate thread?
Sorry i don't remember how that works, whether they do it or the mods here do.
So i'm again assuming that they intend at this point to launch a new device without the help of FC to get the word out. Which would be a first, since i see a thread for every other device they have ever released. I suppose they think it's not necessary to since they feel they are and established company now, with the obvious help from this site i might add. Again please correct me if i'm wrong.

But i think at the end of the day and the MassDrop is over, we will most definitely see how much influence the FC Forums have. I know not everyone looking to find a good vape so they can quit smoking visits this site obviously, but every vape i have ever bought except for my first EasyVape, which combusted every single time was from recommendations from this site. And i couldn't thank the members enough if i had a lifetime to do it. The difference in my health and how well i can breathe now is all thanks to FC.
And my wife sure loves the fact that my whole house doesn't smell like, well you know, the smell of COMBUSTION is the only way to describe it. lol

Manufacturers don't move threads, staff does. Usually a thread is moved when the vapourizer is generally available for purchase and members start to report that they have one.

FC can be extremely helpful when a design is still new and not well known. Once a product is well known, the influence of FC diminishes so we're not as important. The FC community is only a small segment of the vapourizer market, even if it is highly knowledgeable.

I think it would be perfectly fair to never move the thread into the desktop vapes section, since the vendor decided they would run away from us!

Of course, I know this is not my call to make :)

Hi friends!
I think you might find interesting some quotes from the baker massdrop disscussion. They are form someone with nick vaporblunt.
I put them here as they seem relevant to the thread.
Hello All,

I work for Vaporblunt and I wanted to assure you that we plenty of Bakers in stock to fill this drop.

The last drop on the Pinnacle Pro did not go as smoothly as we would have hoped. I explained to Massdrop that there was a 2-3 week back order on the Pinnacle Pros and once we got the purchase order I would do what I could to get them out as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, once we shipped the packages out, about 3 weeks after I got the PO, there was an error on the shipping label and the package had to be recalled and resent. This delayed the shipment another week. Once we got them back in we sent it out next day delivery.

I do apologize for the hold up on the previous drop and we are learning from this. We currently have plenty of Bakers in stock and there should be no problem at all with this drop.

The Baker is a great unit and we put a lot of time into it. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Please email me at vaporbluntdave@gmail.com and I will get you a replacement. Initially we were not issuing returns for cracked units as 99% of the time they were cracked due to improper maintenance such as keeping it clean however we will issue you 1 return at no charge for a cracked unit. Please get in touch with me and I will take care of this for you.

Unless you are using the Pong attachment for the water tools the airflow is passed thru the all glass dome and to the whip. We have an all glass 14mm joint that is used to connect it to your waterpipe. Please email me at vaporbluntdave@gmail.com if you still need a new Pinnacle Pro and I will be happy to help you.

Top temp is 750. Yes the air will pass buy the inner rim of the chamber however it shouldn't be a problem. The plastic is FDA approved and used in medical equipment all the time as well as food storage. I have yet to have any complaints about melting plastic with the baker. We spent a lot of time developing this to make sure there were no issues with it along these lines.
I'm not saying that 99% of complaints we got were user error, I am saying that 99% of the cracked units came back with the chamber an mouthpiece/Pong all caked up with residue. I have already implemented a new policy to take care of customers for the first time they come across this issue.

We have made many changes to the pro all from user feed back. The glass lined Pong for example is something we started to include to help with the melting Pongs. Again, this was usually due to residue building along the rim of the screen and then it would heat up during use and that was what was causing the problem.

We are a growing company and sometimes things do not go as smooth as we want but we do try to learn from these things and try to build better products from there. I have given my email to this forum, vaporbluntdave@gmail.com, and I will do everything I can to assist with customer complaints and issues. Anyone can feel free to email me and if you need something replaced or have questions I would be happy to help in whatever way I can.

RUN AWAY!!! RUN LIKE DIARRHEA!!!!

This is exactly what they said last time. The plastic can be FDA approved for medical equipment or food storage, but is the fucking PES safe to be right next to a chamber getting to 750 farenheit? Jeezus! How the fuck do these people stay in business? If this industry were anywhere near mature, this company wouldn't have gotten the PN/PNP out the door, let alone this. We need solid, evidence-based regulation of vapes, fast.

I know I'm raging here, but this is seriously infuriating stuff. They are being evasive, throwing out weasel-worded sentences which do not address the major and justified concerns people have over the materials.

Can we start an FC boycott? It really fucking rubs me up the wrong way when companies conduct themselves like this.

Man, sometimes having to buy stuff online is a bitch, noone would ever pull this kind of half-assed deception and evasion face to face.

I must clarify to all that I have absolutely no financial interest in such a boycott, nor do I have any financial interest in any competing product or anything. This is just genuine resentful ex-customer stuff.

You make some valid points but we have a rule against attacking companies, and I'm struggling not to see advocating a boycott as an attack. Please be careful about the way you express your dissatisfaction.

No worries brother, I don't wanna be making you mod's lives more difficult than I already do by double posting lol.

I appreciate what you are saying, and will leave people to buy at their discretion. :D

The issue is the higher temperatures generated by the pnp, and probably the baker, are beyond the tolerance of the plastic. To blame resin is absurd, these are used to vaporize mmj and resin will collect. But what I'm saying is that there wasn't any problems along these lines with the pn/vb/vb2 right? These vapes aren't as popular because they don't get as hot, but the polymers don't melt and break down on these models either. It's not a coincidence, it's evidence that they need different plastic on the hotter models.

Yes there was a problem with the OG Pinnacle, please observe. The plastic on my OGPN was starting to stain and degrade at an alarming rate. The flaking degradation got worse if you tried to clean it. As you can see there are parts that are "chalk white" that I really dont want to vape through.

I spent the last couple months disputing a warranty issue with Vaporblunt. One of my tactics was daily quotes from unhappy FC members dealing with VB. So whether they read this forum or not they are still receiving input from FC. One of the best messages I received from them concerning the daily emails was "Thank You." LOL

no offesne to anyone but the whole use of plastic is what turned me off from
any vaporblunt product. This company will never see a dime from me:peace:
I'm totally with you on this, but to be fair two of the best vapes around are housed in plastic. The herbalizer and the cloud evo use a higher quality plastic, and not in the heater path. The evo in particular uses an extremely high quality polymer, this is the type of plastic that the vb products need to be successful.

Im glad they have no sales on massdrop, the discussion and negative experiences that users are posting probably has something to do with it. They dont deserve it. This new? (not sure) Dave guy representing VB on massdrop actually seems like a decent guy BUT that means nothing if the company as a whole has a bad track record. Theirs is so bad I dont think they can come back at least not with plastic products and not on FC. They had potential but pissed it away.

don't forget about the Vapolution 2 as well! But like grokit says, the plastic is nowhere near the heated air path on any of these units.

You guy are right and I shouldve been more specific. VB products have always looked cheap and not safe to use, especially after seeing that they offer a plastic attachment(that looked cheap also) to connect it to a glass water path.

I almost get the same vibe from vb as i do from grenco science. Both just offer horrible products imho. I was actually really disappointed when i found out that they were using a plastic housing for the evo, but the heated air path is all glass and there are no pongs involved.

I have no experience with the herbalizer but have heard nothing but great reviews.

I agree totally with this. And Dave whoever he is has a job to do, and that's to help sell some Bakers.
The fact that every decision VB has made up until this drop for The Baker was to save the company money. Now that it is agreeing to change policy and make the statements regarding replacing PonG's and/or allow a faulty PnP to be repaired or replaced 1 time is to save money again.
Save Money by Selling some Bakers. There not here trying to make previous customers happy, there on MassDrop trying to save face and convince new customers that they are in fact and i quote from Dave on MassDrop:

(We are a growing company and sometimes things do not go as smooth as we want but we do try to learn from these things and try to build better products from there.I have given my email to this forum, vaporbluntdave@gmail.com, and I will do everything I can to assist with customer complaints and issues. If Dave would have posted this on FC awhile back or even recently, i would've at least maybe given VB the benefit of the doubt. But no such post here, and if no FC members was using MassDrop we would never know that VB has changed policies.
And will they keep to these promises after the drop is over? Only Time Will Tell...
Either way i suggest everyone take advantage of this short window, and contact Dave about any issues with their VB products.
