Ed's TnT Wooden Vapor Tubes & Vapor Stems

Don't want to steal any thunder but I've been talking to Ed about a new product he's making. If this turns out as planned (and I don't see why it wont), you guys need to bust out your wallets again. This is going to be an accessory everyone will want!

Ed said it's still a few weeks out so I'll leave it at that and let @Ed's TnT expand on it when he feels it's time.

I'll just say it should allow me to retire a few pieces of loose gear! Can't wait.

Has anyone ordered a custom dugout for the arizer solo stem yet?

I mean, that'd be like having having a place to store the solo's stem on the go, having ease of packing, and a place to store your herb, all on one neat wooden box... idk, its just an idea I had.

It'd make a nice little kit for on-the-go use for the solo.... I can see myself carrying a solo and a dugout with bud and the stem...

Is something like that possible, Ed?

I know right?

Idk.. I've never bought any of ed's products yet, I haven't ever thought that wood was worth the hassle, but idk... the idea of just carrying a solo and a wong/wooden stem in a dugout filled with bud seems pretty 'neat', think i might just dive in.

Dugouts were my intro to weed.. Its my memories of sitting in my room experimenting with weed, its what I brought for walks on the beach.. And that whole thing is missing cos I only vape now...

Plus the solo's stem has always been a hassle to manage. Having a dugout for it wouldn't be the worst thing ever.

Ed does exceptional work, and I have his stems for every vaporizer that I own, except my Dr. Dabber and Herbalizer being shipped to me right now. I posted a picture of my collection a couple pages back so you can see how good he is at what he does. You won't be disappointed if you order from him.

I don't doubt Ed's work for a second, in fact, I don't think I've seen anything even comparable out there... I'm just not sure if a wooden stem is for me... I've smoked out of wooden pipes, and I don't like what they do to the taste... At any rate, I do think I'd love a dugout, even if only for the stock glass stem or the gong.

Basically, as a 'package' the solo has always been kinda lacking, and I think Ed's work could directly address my largest (and yet kinda insubstantial (god, I am enjoying my solo) ) complains with the Arizer Solo - <#1> Stems are difficult to manage when using as a portable vape, and <#2> lack of elegance (for those who care).

A solo stem dugout would solve problem #1, and I can trust Ed to obliterate problem #2..

I'm not expecting a mason jar-esque seal, but how do you rate the dugout's herb containers? Is it even close to airtight? Back when I owned a smaller cheaper generic dugout, the weed would, after a day in a dugout, either get kinda crumbly and powdery, or would kinda get into clumps (i assume due to moisture). Of course, This was after having pressed down onto some nicely ground bud. IDK.

Considering that to solo stem is huge compared to a normal dugout chillum, a solo stem dugout would either have a massive herb chamber, or we could do two chambers (one for abv/to manage separate strains).

Mind you, I can already see my wants exceeding my budget... :(

I used to use Dugouts when I smoked too. They were never air or water tight. My herb tended to get very dry when stored in there too, so I didn't keep a lot in it. Just enough for while I was out for that day. Only put in it what you believe you will be using while your out. I knew a person that actually packed her Dugout so full and tight that she cracked the damn wood! A lot of my friends always tried to cram in as much as they could. I never did that.

I'm very interested to see if @Ed's TnT is interested in tackling a project like this. I'm sure all the Solo Dugouts would have to be custom made, depending on the size of the Solo stem that it would be holding. I imagine a Solo Dugout would be a lot bigger than a regular Dugout as well.

He might not even be able to use the name "Dugout" due to copyright/patent infringement. I'm sure he could come up with a really cool name of his own, though. :)

I'll even bet ya that a pick/stir tool could sneak a fit in there also;):nod:!

Maybe, if it had three compartments, but then it could get more bulky than needed. Each one would have to be custom made to accommodate the different sizes of stems that Ed makes for the Solo, some very short, some very long. The adjoining chamber would most likely be the same size/depth where the herb would be held. Possibly a little bit wider, not deeper, so people would be able to put a little more herb in that chamber.

Stir/Pick poker could fit right down through the center of the stem - or, dip right down into the herb chamber - no extra compartment needed;).

Are you talking about the new poker's that Ed just started making? Because they are pretty good sized.
Not exactly ...see pic below (the o-ringed stir/pick tube top) - just make that smaller and use it to cap off the herb. One dugout - one o-ringed cap for the herb to keep it fresh - one odor-proof o-ringed stir/pick for the stem side. Just imagine a cig pack w/2 caps on top. All neat n tidy!

That sounds like an interesting idea too. I was just trying to keep it simple for Ed because I know he has a lot on his plate right now. :)
