The Herbalizer

My Herbie has shipped and is now in the hands of UPS. :)

You know, I was having some guilt, spending so much money on a vaporizer. I don't anymore. I just found out that I have to have more surgery, that will be 3 surgeries since March. I deserve this vaporizer for a better quality of life!

Enjoy man my herbie is set to arrive tomorrow and i was wondering what type of class shipping did they choose from ups?

You guys are lucky, while I saved almost 100 bucks, the catch for me is waiting then for the sale to end, for processing, and then for the item to be shipped to ToMo and then to me, all told an ETA of 3-4 weeks. So yeah, I'm excited to use mine too, just gotta wait a bit now :p .

At least when it does ship sometime in mid July it'll come fast :p . I'm at least glad that after bumming around here for a bit that when it comes I won't have to mess around too much with it to get it to perform optimally. I say keep the ideal temp settings on herb and concentrates coming!

It seems like people are giving their weed more power so it hits harder and lasts perhaps less bags/time, but I'm actually curious about trying that method when it comes (with a smaller bowl and it economizing stuff as it is, I can imagine it not being as big of a deal to refil after 2-3 bags, which is more often than my 8-10 (or 4-5 XL's) from my Volcano).

Which reminds me, will the Herbie dudes be coming out with larger stock bags? Or is there really any point given the Herbie bags seem more like the Volcano Solid valves (replace them yourself) over the easy valves (throw the whole thing away, buy a new one)?

I have a funny question. What is this little circle beside the herbalizer logo. Are they watching us? :p

Herbie isn't watching you personally, but is watching the ambient light in the room. Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but that should be the ambient light sensor that adjusts the display for the light in the room.

@Skeena - you can verify what @nigel just said (and I agree with) buy using Herbie in a bright room, then place you finger over the little circle - you'll see the display change in brightness.

The folks at Herbalizer thought it was a good idea to dim the display in dark rooms... I tend to agree.

Is the full Herbalizer warranty included? If so, that's a great deal!

Yup! Brand new item and everything. My theory as to how ToMo works is that they get some kind of bulk discount when they place their orders at the end of a sale. It's actually the same way I got my Atmos RX too (although in that case it was "discounted" to where it's current MSRP is so I guess it wasn't a fantastic deal in the end). I like ToMo, I buy various furniture and accesory stuff from them, so you can imagine my surprise when they featured the Herbie last week as their main sale for the day (including a sweet Humidor made out of an ammo box that I intend to use to store my stuff).

I thought about posting earlier so other people could jump in on it, but I figured to stay decently mum about it so no one thought I was in it to get some kind of referral for store credit (that would have been awesome though). I mentioned it within the last hour or so of the sale a page or two back because at least then people wouldn't think I had a vendetta, I wonder if anyone else jumped on it before it ended.

I tried but something on their site was broke and I was not able to register in time. If only you had posted a couple hours earlier....

I am sure there will be another chance, I am ready for a 2nd but only at a discount under full warranty.

Aww man, I'm sorry to hear that :/ . And yeah I'm sorry I didn't post the deal itself or about it sooner, I guess I figured it was against forum rules somewhere. It certainly got me to bite (as much as I'd like a new desktop vape toy, it would be hard to justify the Herbie at full price when I already have something pretty decent).

If it makes you feel any better, they did tack on 40 bucks for shipping (a sliding scale based on value and price of whatever is shipped I assume, so as to insure the contents), and I still gotta wait 3-4 weeks to actually get it.

Who knows if they'll do it again (sometimes they redo sales, sometimes they don't), fingers crossed though!

it does appear i am missing one of the Concentrates pad

I am sad to lose Herbie but glad Jarva is enjoying it. The great news is that I may be able to buy another Herbie. I had a painting that I bought a couple of years ago for $25 appraised yesterday. It was appraised at $1200! :o Ah...church rummage sales.

this is correct the screen will dim in darker rooms. or go brighter if needed in a well lit one.

Good show revolving around legalization of cannabis. This show is from yesterday afternoon, and this episode reviews the Herbalizer. :) Joshua Young is part of the interview as well. You may want to skip to about 25:00 to get to that part.

I went to hit the whip yesterday and it was completely clogged from the get go. I pulled the whip out of the bowl and looked...completely clogged with brown goo! A little scrape from a tool and I am now ready to go...easiest reclaim ever!

You should have taken a pic! I've scraped a lot of goo from the coupling too, but I've never let it go long enough to clog, how much do you think you put through it to clog it enough to restrict flow? I've scraped a bunch out of the top of the mag bowl too.

Hi All!

Just got my herbie and wanted to ask a few quick questions before sharing my thoughts on the device.

How do you remove the plastic dome? Is it as simple turning that one screw? Herbie certainly seems like a well made device but it would be much more elegant without all that unnecessary plastic used in the lid/flimsy storage tray. Plus I plan to mainly use the whip so would prefer not to have to disconnect that each time. I recall that one of the members here also prefers to have their unit topless.

Also,I’m concerned about the fan noise coming from my unit. I’ve only used it on 3 sessions, but the fan seems to come on every 10-20 seconds or so for a quick 1-2 seconds which is quite distracting. Is this normal? I’ve seen other users in this thread report similar issues, but not sure if this was the same problem since the video clips they uploaded are no longer viewable.

Also, when the fan kicked in on one of my sessions (the loud fan that sounds similar to a laptop) it was going non-stop for a good 5-10mins for my entire session until I turned the unit off. Shouldn't this fan only come on for a few seconds every couple of minutes? Instead of remaining on for that many minutes at a single time? I could swear that all this fan blowing was causing small amounts of vapor to come out of the whip each time, but I’m not certain.

Does the fan ever kick in when the unit is heating up but no bowl has placed on top of it?

If you are smoking in a completely silent room, how often do you hear your Herbie make noises or turn on the fan?

Thanks folks!

Hi everyone,

This is only my second post here at FC since joining. Today I finally ordered my Herbie!
I introduced myself a while back in the introduction thread so I won't waste my time with that. I just want to say I'm really excited to join in on all the fun. I should receive my unit in about a week so I'll give my commentary once I have a test run. I'm sure I'm going to be pleased, I've read most of the posts in this thread and I can hardly recall a negative comment. Thanks for the help in making my decision! I have a question related to reclaim, so I figured this would be a good time to ask. I haven't even received my Herbalizer yet and I'm already thinking of ways to add on/upgrade...

Here's my question: Do you think the following pieces could be used effectively for a globe to catch reclaim and give a view of the vapour? My thought is to drill a hole in the plug that will fit snugly over the Hernbalizer bowl. Then attach a whip to the top with a 18mm GonG.

Glass Globe (Dry ash catcher piece):

Hi and welcome to FC. I also bought an Herbie and will be receiving it Monday. :)

I wonder if removing the lid would void the warranty? I would check with Herbalizer before you do that.
