As do I.

Dark spots is not necessarily black, just more toasted. It's pretty obvious that most of the heat is directed to the center of the bowl so for me, stirring is mandatory between hits much like shaking the MFLB between hits. No biggie.

When I use the LSV I tend to employ an 18-18 male adapter exclusively these days rather than the WPA as I only use very small loads, I've not measured but at a guess I'd say 0.02g or less(I make @lwien look like a big hitter).

I've used one of the hc screens so it is much larger than the internal diameter of the adapter. This means it is in a funnel shape and keeps all the material in the hot spot in the centre. One hit usually gets the load light brown and a second extremely wispy hit will take it to dark brown. I usually stir between but tbh I don't think it's necessary as the colour is very uniform.

Edit: I haven't used the wand since I got a bubbler, I'm a water baby.

Alright after just two smallish hits on like 1230ish through the D020-T, I can already see how much better the LSV is through water, using a male-male adapter and an EQ basket screen. Easy to leave the bowl and everything in the bubbler and set the LSV down like a lighter, also makes stirring between hits very simple for more evenly cooked loads (smaller too with the EQ screen, I'm going to try to cram a screen a little further down the adapter if I can for a bigger bowl option). So the journey begins

@Raskin666 I did try that before my bubbler arrived, and it did not work as well and spilled bud when removing, the transfer wand just doesn't line up with the heater so consistently I've found and fits a little to snug...

So after cramming one of the transfer wand screens into the male-male adapter (fits perfectly just like in the wand), I find that this is the best set up for me. Much more stable than using the EQ screens and the herb sits a little lower so it has a rim with space between herb and heater so no more spills, really really easy to stir in between hits and use any amount since it always sits in the bubbler and the LSV connects upsidedown from above. Now I'm getting nice evenly cooked herb and a nice excessively baked high in my sessions with the D020-T. Thinking about getting an ash catcher though for more diffusion/bigger chamber and to move the LSV further from my face (tried using carbonated water also, and that was pretty wonderful, monster hits with the extra diffusion).

But I kinda think a tree perc could be a cool compliment to the 20-T's ratchet perc over another (albeit honeycombed) disk. This one is $25 shipped though vs the other one's $20

I think they could function as an ash catch with the LSV upsidedown coming at the bowl from above, but I realize maybe these would be hard to unload after a session if there's water in the adapter that's holding the herb? They could be a nice f-bomb like water tool too, but I don't know if they could work with the LSV right side up? I'm not entirely sure I've got a handle on how they work exactly...

wow you got me thinking there. but sadly i think its not possible to use them wet, the only way would be to run it lsv on top filled with water to the middle, but then water would splash into the higher tube going into the air path. i dont think it would be cool. and yes emptying is an other story :/

but this makes a cool dry wand with some extra cooling plus maybe cool effect.

Interesting problem I've been having with LSV, the knob does not turn smoothly anymore. From the noon to 3 o clock setting, it feels gravelly. Does anyone know a fix for this? I feel like I just need to lube something. I don't really have any lube right now either, I've always just used spit as needed

Anyone know of a way to restrict the airflow somewhat on the LSV? Think there is any chance LSV guys would make a heater cover with a smaller air passage hole to achieve a more restricted airflow? I find that I am maxing out my draw earlier than I would hope because my lungs are filled with a lot of air which I would prefer to be vapor :). Any ideas appreciated, thanks!

I think that the restriction built into the long transfer wand is part of why it tastes so smooth (along with its length) :2c:

I don't actually have much of an issue with the transfer wind, I get pretty a pretty good vapor to air ratio with that - but when attached to glassware using my 14mm WPA I get full up on air pretty quickly for some reason. If any technique suggestions I would be happy to test them out!

How high is your heat level? Have you tried to turn it up a bit more? I had similar issues the first few days or so, and I was just a bit leary of cranking it up too much. It worked much better and was faster on a 3 to 4 o'clock setting, I just had to twirl the LSV around on the WPA to prevent one spot from cooking.

I think it may be time to post this tweek up again.

"Thanks for contacting 7th Floor. I will provide you instructions on how to keep the heater element in place, but keep in mind, you could pull or cross wires which would render the unit broken and you would have to send it to us for repairs. It sounds like you need to keep the heater element in place and this could fix all your problems. Pull the heating element up gently and hold the cap and shim down, to prevent the cap and shim from being pulled out. On the side of the heating element, close to the bottom as it is coming out of the cap, you will see the letters "STD-". Pull the heating element out til you see the dash and then slightly twist. Slightly twist. This should hold the heating element in place. "

It should adapt to that stand or most any other mic stand. The way I have most seen it used with the lsv most often is with the kind of stand that clamps to a tabletop, that may be the ticket to offset its weight.

i asked on amazon and some guy said you need a studio microphone stand and shock mount? no idea what either of them are... Can someone please link me the cheapest microphone stand/mount that'll work with the lsv? I'm torn between the ssv and lsv but if i can get a microphone stand for cheap I will buy the lsv
