The Cloud EVO Anticipation Thread

I have already stopped counting how many times I caught it overheating.
It's amazing me how lucky I must be that I've never let the overheat go as far as doing any damage.
I hope the final field testing is going to end up well, I don't think i could keep this luck forever.

You must have some mad overheat sensing skills - my first overheat was basically a meltdown - bright orange bamboo an it was so hot the inside of the bamboo started to deform...

And the evo was sitting on my leg as it happened :o:lol:

Anybody still holding out for their international preorder? I am thinking of cancelling mine, but knowing my luck I will do it and then the international units will go on sale the following day or something :rolleyes:

I dont think they will ever release a 220v version, cancelled my order ages ago get a lsv its just as good as a cloud and more reliable

Thanks for the advice, but I don't want an LSV lol, I want a frigging EVO!

I have other heavy hitters, but it's the EVO that I am waiting for!

I'm getting pretty close to just canceling my pre-order and getting some new glass or something... :(

I had a fakexhale holding me over during the wait, but that's died, and after going back to my LSV, it really is quite close in performance.
The cloud may be easier to use, and I'd guess it uses a bit less herb per load, but for a pure vapor to vapor comparison, there's really not much difference at all IME.

It's been like a year since I contributed to the IGG campaign, it's getting ridiculous at this point...

IMO, at this point they should at least be sending out weekly updates to let us know how stuff is progressing...

Nothing time consuming, just a "no major updates this week, testing still underway"
Or "discovered a problem, having out engineer look into it"
Or even just a "we haven't forgotten about you guys, things are progressing"...

I wonder why these power frequency issues weren't a factor with the cloud+?

Yeah I'm definitely sick of it. I've been contemplating canceling. How many delays have Vapexhale come up with that allows them another week? Then they just wait another week to even answer with a response that turns out to be another delay. Now anyone in the US or Canada can buy the EVO with a Hydratube, 2 nails, elbs, and a hydrafoot for 450 on mass drop and get it before those of us who ordered in October.
All I have so far is an import tax, which I will have to be paying again I assume, and a broken evo that could have started a fire. They reneged on multiple promises and all they have done is given us store credit that won't actually end up costing them very much.

Has anybody in the uk brought a evo off this uk site namastevapes.co.uk they claim to be selling 110v evos with the converter for £320 have brought some elbs off them and my friend has brought a pinnacle so it's a genuine site

If the supplied adapter doesn't do frequency conversion as well as voltage conversion (and I highly doubt it will unless it costs about as much as the EVO does), then you'll encounter the same issue the international units are seeing, from the 50Hz/60Hz AC frequency difference apparently confusing the electronics somehow. This is why they cancelled the idea to send out 110v EVOs and converters as a temporary measure.

They never caught the meltdown wackiness testing the original design as they only tested converted voltage. The voltage converter they used only output at 60Hz, which is the wall AC frequency in the US, but used in few other countries. 50Hz is overall quite a bit more common than 60Hz.

The namastevape site is just a scam they tried to rip me off just got my £308 back.
the elbs and evo never turned up,my friend who purchased a pinnacle off these con artists is sure its a fake

Anybody thought of using shipito.com and getting a US Evo reshipped and trying it on a step down transformer?

Or I noticed that Planetvape have them in stock too and they ship Internationally...its just whether anyone would risk it...knowing the problems that have been happening with overheating.

I must say I am tempted in the name of science. I wonder how much of an issue the frequency difference between 60Hz / 50Hz will make...

I am tempted to get in on the massdrop and use shipito.com for the address.

Yes I know of the problems, but as yet the reasons as to why haven't been explained. I was wondering if anyone was prepared to try an US unit out as the problems with overheating seemed to be random and intermittent. Never know, may get a working one that doesn't exhibit problems...

I don't encourage this by the way, just curious is all...

I'm not aware of any international units that have exhibited no problems. Running a US unit on a step-down converter is functionally the same thing, apparently. I want to know how these new units that international distributors should have by now are performing, but we haven't heard anything.

Hi Guys, quite friendly with Vapefiend in the UK and up until last week he hadn't received his unit for testing and wasn't expecting to in the very near future, hopefully seeing him this week so will ask again but to be honest think he is fed up of telling me "there is no news" as have been asking every month for the past year.

Ill be waiting at least 6 months after a SUCCESSFUL product launch before even contemplating buying as the arguments not to buy this Vape are nor more than the pros.

In my eyes your being sold a dream that for very few is a reality.

Weren't they supposed to be sent 3 weeks ago to distributors?! If Vapefiend is not aware of anything, it sounds like intl units are far from reaching overseas...

Same here. See you in 2015 or 2016!

Ill ask him in a few days when I hopefully see him and if by some freak chance he has been sent it ill report back ....

Really? Any reasons given in the email? Or an update on the progress?
