??

We're talking about oil that gathered literally due to heat, from being inside a vaporizer bowl; I need to be careful concerning the heat? What exactly would killing the thc even imply? It'd break down into other compounds?

So what do I need to do, stir it?

Also, how hot does a pot on a stove need to be to actually damage the glass stem?
Sorry I'll stay out of it!
I keep my GonG's and Stem's very clean. I don't let resin build up so I need to shut up!

Sorry!

Yeah, nevermind me, its my first month with the solo, I'm kinda enjoying the learning curve, if you will.
Nice glass. I'm gonna buy some as soon as planet vape restocks, maybe get a custom stem.

I've heard extraordinary experiences from those who say they've reclaimed from heavily used stems, so it gets me curious.

I just stick a glass stem/gong in the solo, turn it up to 7 for a few minutes till it gets nice and hot, then stick a bud at the end of a paperclip or whatever (paperclip works good for the gongs but for the stock stems I needed something longer so I used a cake tester)
ssOexQm.jpg

Bend it if needed and shove it in there. Even if the bud gets broken up just keep stirring it around (I'll spin the stem around while pressing it up against the sides)….empty it out, repeat the process if necessary.

Throw it back in the head and vape it up. I go thru water at 6+. Be careful, it could creep up on you. :smug: Have a drink ready. It lasts longer than flowers only too.

Seriously, what you should really be careful about is not blowing water back into the unit.

Hey Ataxian,

Are all three of those GonG's from Planet Vape?

I can't decide which 14mm GonG to get? They have a regular 14mm, a 14mm shorty, 14mm turbo, and a 14mm shorty turbo.

Just trying to choose the best one to hook up the Solo to my Pinnacle WT?

TIA

I don't like those types of devices personally.
That's not to say their the cats meow?
I never could make them work?
I like ash collectors and JHOOKS way better.

I use a 14mm PHVES GonG the most.
If the fitting is 18mm on the piece I use a reducer bushing 18 x 14 mm.
The shorty good if your conserving. (I don't)
The turbo for whole flower vaporizing.
1/2" stainless steel screens are great for gongs.
Ebay sells them for real cheap.
I clean my stuff always so I put a fresh screen after cleaning.
Sometimes the old screen cleans up fine.

If you get a GonG 14mm or 18mm PHVES if in stock?

The PNWT requires a 14mm to work!

Hello,
I am a newbie here, but Arizer Solo have some time. Unfortunately, it happened to me that the bottom plastic is damaged. I need to get this part even quietly partially damaged. Already have devised a method for repairing. I made replacement metal bottom on CNC that fits perfectly, but my damaged part is unusable. Anybody got some damage this great device?

This has been discussed a fair bit. AFAIK you're SOL on a new frame. Not only doesn't Arizer sell very many parts, but his one would be special since it takes a complete rebuild of the assembly (not possible for most with the new versions since there's no connectors?) but it also carries the serial number.

Nobody has ever posted a replacement idea.

I'm not sure what "even quietly' means???? You might consider buying a $65 'refurb' from Randy before they're all gone. You'd end up with a bunch of spare parts (charger, stems, battery, and so on).

There are several posts on repairs of the corners if that's the problem? What, exactly, is the problem with the one you have?

I don't think you're going to find that separately. The bottom cracks are well known around these parts.

Can always fix it other ways which are much simpler.

Darn No more open box deals on puffitup y'all snapped 'em up to fast for me.

@Pipes I did pick up one of your stands, pretty cool to see 'em for sale out there in the real world.

Bummer, but if I were a betting type I'd be thinking Randy just cleared a few month's backlog? More are being returned every day. Is there another pile growing? I wonder if Randy is open to a 'waiting list'?

Just thinking out loud.....

One other thought, IMO you need to be willing to jump on a good deal if it drifts past when you fiscally can. "Thinking it over for a while" just gives the other fellow the opening all too often.

Why thanks RB, me too. And Randy has priced quite low to start. Now shhhhh, or I'll end up having to make a bunch more.

Bravo Pipes!! From our PMs you already know how I feel about this, but lest there be doubt about it anywhere amongst the FC faithful, IMO this is GREAT! "Couldn't happen to a nicer guy" as they say.

As I see it we're blessed indeed by Pipes and his efforts. From his early PAs for TV gear through to today. Recall that he developed and produced his "AIO" PA system for the Solo 'on the come'. The model change put a big hole in that one. He'll never 'get his time/money back' for the development and I bet has a big old stock of parts to trip over? He 'ate' all that and still, in finest Capitalist Tradition', continued "taking the risk" to bring keen stuff to the market for us to choose from. Hoping for a profit, but still it's all risk up front. Risk precious few are willing to take. We need more of that, IMO.

His making 'major market' with this product is just cause for celebration. He can now move this out of his kitchen into a normal production product......and apply himself to the next product......

Take a bow, Brother Pipes, you earned it in spades. And get something nice for the wife?

Thanks OF, the mission has been a ton of fun. These projects give me something to do and try as I might, I always end up back in the kitchen.
Yeah, have a few parts kicking around from the AIO but I'm sure I'll find a use for them down the road.
It's very satisfying knowing that folks enjoy my products and appreciate the work which goes into them.

When there's a need, there's a solution. ;)

I recommend custom ordering a 14mm Stubby from PlanetVape; a stubby stem has as much of the excess glass tubing removed as possible, taking about an inch off the Solo's overall length with a stem inserted and making it much more pocket-able and less prone to breaking. Custom ordering a stubby version costs an additional 10$, but your Solo will be much more compact.

I've used the Turbo and prefer the Standard 4 hole glass screen as it helps to insulate heat and cook the bud more evenly, and acts as a failsafe for your bud dirtying the rest of the stem if your screens go askew while you are putting it at alternative heights.

As far as the shorty goes, you can always make the bowl smaller by placing a metal screen at a different height, but the bowl will always have a finite maximum capacity; I recommend not getting the Shorty.

So... My $65 PIU solo has arrived! Ordered Friday got it today (Monday). CALI to Ohio THAT DAMN FAST!!! Love PIU. I'll post pics n stuff after I get home. Anxious to get back to the vape life. Stay tuned folks....

I got mine, actually two (one for a friend, who gets 'first choice').

The two I got are the old (real PA) version, M1A4XXX for those hung up on that. The battery packs have date codes about two years old, so that makes sense to me. They are definitely used, one way more than the other. One has a few scratches on the body but is otherwise in very good shape (four solid corners). The other is a true Veteran. It looks like some used a pipe wrench on the top (slight exaggeration, but it's 'rough' for sure). All four corners are seriously broken out and the baseplate has several long cracks across what's left. The bottom is also quite scuffed up in the parts that are left, showing it's been dragged over some rough surface a lot.

Both came mostly charged, and cycled normally at step 4. They're both charged fully, I'm about to do a 'step7, top open' battery life test. Then comes some serious repair work to save what's left of the beat one (the one I'm sure to end up with, and rightly so).

The came with 2 brand new straight stems (no bent ones), two used chargers and two of the funny little oil cups. The packing is somewhat primitive. The unit it tossed into the original 'nearly cube' box with the charger and bubble wrapped glass and filled with 'Styrofoam noodles'. The smaller box (with the glass) and the custom packing is gone, but at the price.......

It looks to me like Randy has cleared out 'tested working just fine' units. Stuff from last year? Or maybe units he just got in, which have been replaced by new style? This may or may not mean this could happen again.

IMO it's a great stroke of luck that they are the older style. The 'use while charging' might be convenient for those not keeping track of their charge and all, but I prefer the older ('true PA') version I think not that I've tried both.

I hope others 'luck out' in their buys as well.....whatever they consider lucky?

That's good to hear OF...... Thanks for the info.
I'm fine with a few scratches or nicks here and there. I'm just wanting a working Solo at this point.
If its the newer PA style solo... Fine. If its the old style... Even better IMO. I don't ever see myself using the PA bypass anyways.
:Fingerscrossed:
