Cheap High Quality Bubbler

i don't think the JH018 is made correctly
1st video shows a high water level so that you can see the water going up the drain when i pull

I was afraid that would be the case with the JH018. Thanks for pulling the trigger and being the test dummy for everyone else!

Now does anyone want to buy the JH017 and test it out for everyone lol?

I think this one will function a lot better since it is a knock off of the Hitman to Funnel Recycler :D I would be the test dummy but I am saving up for a few other items first

@SunnyHours - you should definitely check out the jhanpixel UFO sidecar. Have had one for a few months and love it. Don't know about him using Chinese glass stock as someone mentioned above. Do know mine is nice and heavy and the work is much better than my Chinese pieces.

You do pay for the quality and the larger size piece. Think it is still $150 with free s&h, but worth every penny of it IMO.

Being Canadian it's not like I'd ever get free shipping
I've never broke an expensive piece yet (knock on wood) so If I had the money I'd go for the JPixel, it looks like beautiful glass!
For now though, until I find a style of bubbler I really like. Then I'll be able to satisfy my OCD for perfect glass once I know what I like...can't quite place the member who said that, but I like it!

Comes down to under 120$CDN shipped EMS for a D020, a D021, a Pinnacle Pro and a glass dish.
That way I'll have some sweet glass I can bring to parties or hiking without risking a couple 100$ bills.

I think my Glass Acquisition Syndrome is coming back :cuss:... I was in remission for like 2 years. Vaping brought back the G.A.S. It seems to have evolved a bit. I was mostly into large bongs with crazy filtration. The mutation appears to have been induced by the flow of new bubblers on the market :p

On a side note I think my SSV is getting delivered tomorrow! I think there's gonna be a hell of a lot of vaping going on tomorrow :o:ko:
National Holiday next week and my birthday the week after!

I've started to get mesmerized by glass now and can think of nothing better than a fat (wide) bubbler or bong to take dabs off of.

I would prefer if it was one piece. I've already been searching the DH stores and found something but would like to see more variety to select from.

I'll keep searching but if any of you know of a wide bottom bubbler that's of medium'ish size and goes for under 40 let me know please.

This one is nice and I like the honey comb thing. I've not tried out the various types (recyclers, percolators, honeycombs, fritted discs, etc) so your opinions on this issue would be very helpful in deciding. Which one gives you a smoother hit? (by that I mean low resistance/drag) and which one feels the most airy?

But here it is.

I really would have preferred the wide bottom to be part of the water chamber. Once full it's heavier and I wouldn't have many fears of it being tipped over.

This other one looks nice and I think I'm favoring this one. But I want to hear your replies on which type of system (perc, recyc, etc) is better. I'm also thinking of using cold water in it. Are there any unforeseen downsides to this?

This one looks very nice and is a few bucks over budget but I can manage at 44. It has double percs and an ice catcher. Which is good since I prefer cooler hits. My first bong had an ice catcher and I learned to love it until it broke. I haven't owned a glass piece since (4 years later) and am looking now.

So I look forward to your replies and thank you. I really want to find a glass piece that will provide what I need. If you've seen something that fits it please recommend it to me!

Sorry if this is annoying to some of you guys. I thought it would also be good to document in case someone had the same needs.

@thisperson my take on them is that the first 2 would have some drag because of the mouthpiece. I do think all 3 would be smooth but the last one will probably be smoother with less flavour because of the 3 percs.

I personally like the first one better. But this is just aesthetically talking as I haven't tried any of those. I am not familiar with this type of percs or the amount. When thinking about it, it could very well be that the 3rd one has quite a bit of drag depending on the water levels. There's also no splashguard which can get annoying quite fast if you ask me...

How hard is it to clean some of these more intricate pieces? I wanna get the double barrel from kathy or the WP-1095 from sunshinestore but my OCD worries how easy it cleans and if there will be any spots that just wont get clean.
PWB
If you are 10% as picky as I am 1 tablespoon baking soda then pour in a cup of white vinegar first then reverse osmosis rinse then a PWB cleaning.

Pretty basic?

Yeah looking them over I really like that the bowl piece is farther away on the first piece than the others. I will be grabbing it by the stem most of the time and don't want to burn myself. But then I look at that bong and go. :).

Although I prefer the honeycomb system just because it makes lots of bubbles. I'd imagine I would enjoy watching that every time.

I wonder if I can find a double honeycomb design bub for 40 with a wide bottom. brbsearching.

Nah, that's a bong. I already found several bongs like that. Thanks for the link though.

I really want a double honeycomb bubbler but all I find is ashcatchers. Looks like I'm out of look, at least in the price range I want, I'm sure with enough money I could find one...

I probably will end up picking up one of those bongs. They seem like a really good deal. I remember being 18 and paying 150 for a triangular chemistry tube looking bong.

Well I have all month to come to a decision.

Sorry about that! Didn't realize you were looking for a double honeycomb bubbler.

I don't think I've ever seen a cheap double honeycomb that wasn't a bong but I'll keep my eye out for you :)

Also the chamber for a double honeycomb bubbler would have to be pretty tall to avoid sucking up water or it would need a nice splash guard right?

Are you looking for a bent neck bubbler with a female joint that has the most amount of diffusion? Is your goal to maximize diffusion? I think I have a few in mind if that's the style you want

if you are going to be using for dabs, I would recommend something with a smallish volume in the can. Maximum diffusion is good for smoke but the more diffusion, the more flavor you will lose with vapor/dabs. I prefer to have a constant hit rather than fill the can and clear it. Lastly I think that you may find ice to be unfavorable for dabs/vapor. The cooling causes more condensation of vapor on the inside of the piece. Resulting in your goodies being in the piece instead of your lungs. A better option for vapor conditioning I'd warm water. Rinse the piece in warm water then put warm water in the can. This provides a very well conditioned and flavorful hit.

So outside of a Kansas Twister Show, how is everyone enjoying their D20-Q? I like the visual appeal but I'm more interested in performance as far as diffusion and pull restriction. I've seen some people comment they didnt care for it. My overall decision is still confusion on that piece. It looks fun but how is the function?

I liken it to the "beer bong" of bubblers. It has a harder pull than my others, hence I tend to get massive hits when I clear it. It also likes to leave a considerable amount of vapor in the lower chamber, so I also need to clear it longer. I wouldn't hand it over to someone new to this scene.

In short, it tends to be less efficient, difficult to take small hits, and likes to splash. Is it worth $33 delivered to my door? Hell yes. This one is all about the novelty (to me).

First hit of the night I use the D20-Q.. then I move on to something smoother like the GB187 or D20.

As others have said, PBW is great - but I have had mixed results with it (probably not doing it right).

But as someone else has mentioned - Rezblock is Awesome!! I received my cranberry extract the same day as my new D020-W. Have been using CE every time with the W, and it still looks new! I don't need to "Clean" - the most I do is fill with hot water and give it a quick shake before I refill with fresh water.

The *only* problem is that you must change the water practically every other day to prevent anything from 'growing' (boy was that a nasty lesson to learn).

Just a little demo of the D020-W with the new slow motion app I got :)

My goal this weekend is to make a wonderful @GSH signature with videos like this :D

Sorry the quality isn't HD. My signature videos will be much higher quality!!

I love my D020-W! Been using it as my daily driver with the Nano

My D20-Q will be here here next week. I think it's going to be a showpiece to play with when friends come over, but not much else. I'm concerned about blowback as the water settles back into the lower chamber.

Your assessment seems on par with what I suspected. It apprears to be more novelty than anything else and I have no doubts about the huge hits. I believe I'll still get this piece but I think I'd prefer the sidecar honeycomb to turbine if I can find it with a 18mm female fitting

Get the sidecar. I have the D020-W and love them. I'll be buying the honeycomb Turbine sidecar probably next week or the following week.

Don't try and find an alternative with a different connection, buy the piece and get an adapter. I typically buy all my adapters from mike at oregon glass blowers (OGB)

I'm already on the same page Bro, his adapters are the best hands down. I recently purchased a piece thats a Mothership knockoff I'm waiting to get here thats 14mm female, and I've ordered a 14mm male to 18mm female from him. I'll probably go ahead on that other piece since I already have the adapter for it.

Hmm. I was liking the male style joints on the first two bubblers I linked, and would want that if getting a bubbler.

On the bong I do like the female joint because it's wide and would just look comical with a conical opening. At least to me. And you are probably right about the splash guard. I wouldn't know.

I'm probably liking the style more than the function on the male vs. female joint thing. But show me what you had in mind for my needs please. Doesn't hurt to look it over and come to a conclusion on if I want it or not. :)

I've never tried a bong with warm water but will definitely look it up. I hadn't considered the condensation but wouldn't mind paying some of it if it means in exchange I get an icy hit. Those are so smooth and are a whole 'nother smoking experience for me. Like breathing in concentrated cool morning mist. At least that's what I remember.

The only other one I liked that I found is like the bong Boogerman linked to me.

It's just a bit shorter but I'm thinking I might need a splash guard as he said. So for ten dollars more I get four more inches. Although I really wanted a small'ish piece.

What are my options in single honeycomb style with a wide bottom, anyone know? Going back to searching, although I don't recall finding very many.

My first option may be my best. I know that since it's so cheap I may as well buy them all to try but I don't have a lot of money and live on a fixed income, plus I'm very picky. Just have been since I was a kid and want my perfect piece.

So to recap, if any of you can help me...

I want a small'ish/medium'ish bubbler with a honey comb design and a wide base. I would prefer if the base were part of the water chamber and not just an exposed flat disk. If it has a second disk as a twister (as I've seen on some skinny ones) that is okay. I don't really care for it either way. I do prefer a female connection in 14 or 18 mm. I am willing to look at both style mouthpieces.

If you've seen something that fits my needs anywhere on the web for 40 dollars or less please let me know.

I think you guys have infected me with glass acquisition syndrome. I had not missed a glass water pipe until I began reading this thread.
